Menace....

with this face???

Awhile ago I posted on my facebook about how at 13 months my daugher is known as the meance of the Heavens Daycare. We laughed about it because she is quite the handful but we just know it as normal and I figured they had heard me talk about how busy she was. Well the other day I had to take her to the daycare at the Glencoe, she has not been there since she was little. When I went to pick her up, about 4 daycare workers came running up to me saying, "oh my goodness she is so busy, she is running around everywhere and doesn't stop. You don't even need a workout when it comes to taking care of her". Hank and I laughed forever after this because it is true...she is crazy and a bit of a menace but its all we know so we don't realize it as much.
We love our little menace so much, she keeps us hopping and guessing everyday and it is always an adventure with little Miss B. We can't wait to see what else this spit fire throws at us.

This is her whatever mom I do what I want face and walk!

Ski (Board) Weekend

This past weekend we decided to get away. While I would prefer planning an exotic tropical vacation this time of year we opted on something a little cheaper and closer and decided to take off for a ski vacation. Although I have been skiing since I was 3, boarding since I was 12 I have never done something like this...and let me tell you it should be on your to do list.
We went with the Dahls and although Simone is 5 weeks out from having a baby she was a good sport about spending her vacation watching us on the mountain while she couldn't participate. We stayed at the Lodge on Sunshine Ski Resort and it was so cool. You have to take a ten minute gondola ride just to get to the top of the mountain and it is like you are tucked away in a winter wonderland. You literally walk out from the lobby doors and there are 5 ski lifts in front of you, so cool! We had the kids with us so of course it wasn't all ski but we made it work....thank you thank you Simone for helping watch CRAZY blakely so that I could get some good runs in. Seriously it was powder everywhere and Mason, Hank and I took full advantage by what we like to car hittin the POW POW.
Bella did her first day of skiing by heading to Tiny Tigers and was a trooper, she loved it and is probaby the cutest 3 year old ever talking about all she did. So we spent two days bundled up, eating lots of good food, shreddin the pow pow, dippin in the hot pool, and spending time with good friends. I would have never wanted to come home except for the fact that Blakely is not a good sleeper and was in a play pen in the same room which resulted in zero sleep for me, I am still paying for it.
Hank and I decided we need to make this a habit and do more ski vacations as the years go by. I can't wait to put Blakely on skis, you know she is going to just bomb down the hills because that is how she rolls.

Highlight: Hank forgetting his swimsuit and wearing my leggings to the hot tub, I am so mad we didn't get a picture, it was hysterical! The drunk guys at the pool really enjoyed it.

Lowlight: Getting serious windburn from the gail force winds at the top of the mountain, I thought  my face was going to be frozen in one place and I would blow off the mountain!

Be prepared for A LOT of pictures....

Gondola ride up, the kids loved it! Ok we did too!

See Blakely's nose, the poor thing got carpet burn across her whole nose the night before from running too fast and crashing. We nicknamed her Rudolph for the weekend!

Superbowl Sunday

Superbowl Sunday is kind of like an anniversary to me because five years ago on Superbowl Sunday Hank and I kissed for the first time. I had held him off for quite some time so when we showed up to the party and held hands during the superbowl all our friends (who were all good friends which is how we met) kind of freaked! Whenever the superbowl is coming up it brings back memories of that happy go lucky time when we were just starting our relationship and all that comes with that. The butterflies, the little kisses, the late nights chatting. It was such a fun time and it is funny that superbowl sunday is what brings those memories up for me. Well this superbowl Sunday was very different from 5 years ago when we spent the day flirting and hanging with all our college friends. Instead it consisted of kids running around, books being read and some crafts, oh how the times have changed and I have loved every bit of the it!

I had every intention of taking really cute photos but instead spent my time upstairs in front of the food table, sorry that is how I roll!

 Food Prep
 Go Steelers
 Cuddles with Richard
Jeanne the best psuedo Grandma their ever was!!!
Craft Time, Seriously who is that cute one month away from giving birth...not me!
I was obviously concentrating really hard...not on the game!
 Bella in a bucket

Funny story: So I really wanted to cheer for the Packers, so I got dressed in my green and yellow and came downstairs. I kept saying I am for the Chargers and they would be like no Emily it is the Packers, ha ha. After the third time of me saying it they said I couldn't cheer for them so I went and changed into a black shirt for the team I was actually getting the name right for. I am a sad case when it comes to football this year. I actually used to really love it until my husband is so obsessed I can't even stand it anymore!

Beautiful Inside and Out

When I first found out I was having a little girl I was so excited! But deep down I panicked a little bit, being a girl is hard! We constantly compare ourselves to others and think we should look a certain way even when it is not true. As someone who has battled an eating disorder I knew I would want to do everything in my power to never let my daughter feel that she has to do something like that in order to alter who she is, that she is perfect just the way Heavenly Father made her. I have read several articles on how to handle this subject with your children, but this article really spoke to me when I read it so I wanted to share.

Take the time to read THIS I really liked what she had to say and especially the advice and quote at the end. I hope that I can always instill self worth in my daughter as she gets older because we all know I think she is perfect and always will be.

Happy February

I think we all can agree that we are ecstatic that January is over!!! Yeah for February...every month we are closing off a little bit of winter and that is good news, and who doesn't LOVE a month that is only 28 days long and has a day devoted to Love.

So don't fall over in your chairs but last night I got crafty.....I dragged my friend Amy over to make a valentines wreath with me because I knew if I attempted it alone I would probably give up. But with the bachelor in front of us it was a sure success.

The original wreath was taken from here but since we had the twiggy heart we decided to do it a little different and I think they turned out pretty cute!

SO happy February everyone.....
