X-Weighted

So this post will really only be cool for my CANADA friends but I was really excited about this. This past Monday was a holiday so after I taught Monday morning Hank and I decided to go for a picnic and walk in North Glenmore Park.
As soon as we showed up Hank said isn't that boy boy?!?!
Lo and behold right in front of us was good old Paul Plakas from X-Weighted yelling at a family filming a segment to get up the hill faster.
So there I was trying not to be the obvious stalker walking past them a million times and trying to take pictures from my picnic bench.
I was a little dissapointed I didn't get a face shot but it was fun to watch him live in person. I kind of wanted to start running hills with them, it was very motivating.
Now I need to keep my eyes out for when the episode airs!

2 TOOTHS

So we tried to capture a picture of the "2 Tooths" but I swear it is impossible, the kid just wants to eat and grab the camera. However, Hank did capture a picture of my cutie pie before her bath yesterday. Does that smile melt your heart or what?
They are a little blurry because Hank was trying a new setting but I still love them!

So I am not going to lie this last week has probably been one of the most challenging weeks I have had since Blakely has been born. I have been very calm and collected when it came to her crying when she was a newborn but this last week got to me. Obviously she got her second tooth which explained a lot about the constant fussy baby, but that on top of trying to get this STUBBORN CHILD to nap and sleep pushed me to the edge. Luckily tomorrow is a holiday so I can have my hubby home to help for one more day.

With my initial success with sleep training I thought I was good, oh how I was wrong, Boogie got my hopes up and then has given me a lot of angst. I feel like this last week has consisted of me putting her in her crib and a WHOLE LOT OF CRYING. It has to catch on at some point right??? Lets hope or I might be the one crying myself to sleep, wait I might already do that.

Ok enough with the complaining.....Blakely is a cutie pie and getting more and more fun. Apparently my doctor doesn't do a 4 month checkup like everyone else so I got on the scale with her on Saturday and at 4 1/2 months she weighs 13 pounds. Not sure where that puts her but she does have some rolls. Her new thing is to arch her back and wiggle and squirm her way out of anything and around everything. She also loves to grab her toes which is evident in the 2nd picture. Still sucking on everything and eyeing all the food I am putting in my mouth, I think she is going to be a food lover like her mother.

Here are some randoms from the last little while!
Daddy and Blakely napping on a car ride home!

Blakely ready for her walk in her coat that is way too BIG, it said 3-6 months but clearly was not!

Feeling the need to blog...

So I am feeling the need to blog but I don't really know what to blog about. Yes I have done alot, yes I am staying busy, yes Blakely is the cutest little girl ever, yet I don't feel like I have much to blog about!!!! I am going to blame it on the lack of picture taking, when I don't take pictures I don't think about documenting my events yet I have been to the zoo and farmers market with friends, went on beautiful hikes and walks with Hank, BBQ's with friends, and many more worthy events. OH yeah I remember why I can't remember anything because I have been Sleep training and it has taken away my thoughts for everything else, ha ha!

SLEEP TRAINING, wow this is hard. As you know from my last post Boogie (I may refer to her as this name because that is all Hank and I call her) has been a horrible sleeper. After calling my friend Lindsay who I know gets her kids on some pretty great sleep schedules, she recommended a book called HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS, HAPPY CHILD. She also told me about her success. I tried it (kind of) and after a night was a little nervous so gave up. Then I was at the gym Friday and some ladies started telling me I had to do it, they gave me a little pep talk and told me if I stood strong by Monday I would be done. SO I DID IT! I stood strong, slept in the basement for three nights and did sleep training. She actually did amazing the first couple nights, way better than I thought she would do. I WAS A BELIEVER, ok I still am it just isn't going as perfect as I would have hoped. She is waking up a little more in the nights which I decided I would still feed her if it had been more than 4-5 hours because she is still pretty small and was used to feeding many times in the night before. But here is the real dilema....my child who used to be the dream angel baby during the days is now cranky as all get out. The last couple days she has been so hard? I thought when they got good sleep they were supposed to be in good moods? I don't know what I am doing wrong. My angel baby is gone!!!
Ahh so that is my life, I constantly am stressing about her sleeping and going down for naps and why is she so grumpy, is she tired again. I guess eventually I will get the hang of it! Still reading the book so maybe I will get more answers.

What else have I been up to....Oh yeah I am running a half marathon in 23 days and then the next weekend running a long relay race called the K-100 and I am kind of nervous about it all. I am running the half with two of my great friends Simone and Becka and I know we are going to have a blast, but we started training a little late in the game so are trying to get the runs in as fast as possible. I am actually really glad I decided to do it because it is so fun to sneak away in the evenings and go for runs, Simone and I have some great chats (ok I talk her ear off about who knows what) and to be outside in the beautiful city of Calgary is so refreshing. Oh did I mention Calgary in the summer is amazing!!!!!

Ok so that is a long boring post about who knows what with no pictures, I hope you enjoyed it, if you actually made it through!

Jumping Machine

So with such a hyperactive child I knew I needed a Jolly Jumper. Much to my delight Hank went hometeaching the other night and came home with one for free! The next morning I stuck Blakely in and after a little hesitation she is a jumping machine. She still is quite little so she more just bounces but I am excited about the entertainment value it gives her so that I can get a few things done!
How cute is my little Jumping Machine in Action!

In other news...Blakely got her first tooth. A couple of weeks ago I could have sworn she was teething. She was sucking on everything and covered in drool 24/7, but I thought she was way too young for that. Then I reached in her mouth the other morning and a tooth had broken through, I don't know if more are on their way but she definitely leeks like a faucet, which is evident in these photos.
I NEED ADVICE:
I am exhausted, sleeping at this house over the last couple weeks has been non existent and it is starting to get to me. I thought it would pass but my poor baby gets really bad stomach aches in the night and is now crying out every hour in pain. She has to be calmed down, get a few toots out and then she goes back to sleep but it is keeping me up all night and I am dying. Any advice for stomach aches like this and what could cause them? I can feel her little tummy rumbling!

Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny RED Polka Dot Bikini

Red Bikini is courtesy of one of my Best Friends Brittany and I think it makes this post because the pictures of Blakely's chubby belly are just too good to be true!

Today we took a trip to the swimming pool! I was the only mom not working or taking a course out of the bunch, but we had a blast and I can honestly say that these three are the BEST dads I know. Honestly each one of them is so involved in their childs life and loves them so much. It was so fun to watch them interact at the pool.

So anyhoo Blakley pulled out the big guns with her bikini today for her boyfriend Carter and I think he liked it! This is the second time we have been swimming at the Southland Leisure Center and the kids just love it because the water is so warm. We lasted about an hour but I think that is great with two babies. I am hoping to get a lot of pool time actually outside this summer but for now we will take the indoor pool and pray for warm sunshine!
