We are stunned and deeply saddened to hear that our Eskie friend Hana has unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Please visit Hana's blog to give some support to Hana's family.
We would like to share our favorite pictures of Hana:
Hana wearing her Ribbon Necklace and driving her bright red sports car .

CASPER D DOG - Hana at the Bridge
http://casperddog.blogspot.com/2009/11/hana-at-bridge.html
It is with great sadness that we say farewell to my Eskie girlfriend Hana. Hana passed on to the rainbow bridge early Friday morning. It happened so suddenly. She was healthy and all of a sudden she was gone. We are heartbroken and deeply sad for her Mommie and Daddy. Please visit them on
Hana's blog. It would be nice if you could leave a note for them. We had such great adventures and memories with her. It is hard to think we will not be able to see her again. This is one of the last pictures her Mommie took of her.

We went to visit them the other day and it was so sad not to see Hana at her window and hear her greet us as we drove up. I sniffed around the house and visited her perch upstairs.
Goodbye Hana. We miss you!

CHARLIE - Farewell to a Friend
Hana, my dear Eskie friend, passed away unexpectedly because of an aggressive form of cancer. She was only nine years old.
This is my favorite picture of her wearing the butterfly wings that Siku Marie sent her. She looked so pretty wearing it, a cross between a butterfly and an Eskie - a Buttereskie! This is how I would like to remember her- fluttering around while wearing her butterfly wings.
I will miss you dear Hana. You were very nice to me and helped introduce me to your other dog-blogging friends. You also left me messages and gave me healing vibes when I was sick.
My mommy cried at the news of your passing. We never met you in person but we feel we already know you. We feel sad for your mom and dad. They must be devastated at the lost of their beautiful girl. Though we are heartbroken because you already crossed the rainbow bridge, we know we will see you in time.
Wear your butterfly wings and run free, dear Hana. We will miss you so much.

COMET AND BLU - Goodbye Hana
http://spitzwits.blogspot.com/2009/11/goodbye-hana.html
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend,
Hana. On Friday, she put on her rainbow wings and flew across the Rainbow Bridge. All the eyes in our house are wet and leaking right now, but we know that when it is our time to cross the bridge, Hana will be waiting for us, fluttering around in her beautiful wings.

And if you are afraid of flying, she will be there to pick you up in her sporty car and drive you around.

There is so much that we will miss about Hana. We'll miss her carefree and wild spirit. We will miss that she was a perfect Eskie ambassador.

We will miss her beautiful smile and the spark in her eye.

We will miss how she loved everyone she met (even cats!!)
We will even miss her cute pink nose.

We hope there are unlimited french fries and toys waiting for you.
Goodbye sweet Hana. We will miss you! Thank you for bringing so much joy and laughter into the world.
Please stop by
Hana's blog to let her mom and dad know how much she meant to you. We know they are devastated right now and could use words of support.

HANSEL - To our Dear Friend
http://theworldofhansel.blogspot.com/2009/11/to-our-dear-friend.html
As some of you may know, mom (before she had us) still lived at home with her eskie dog,
Isis.
She started blogging years ago- and her first blog friend ever, was another eskie-
Hana.
It is with the heaviest heart that we tell you all that we just found out this morning,
Hana passed away on friday from cancer. There was nothing anyone could do- they found out too late in the stages. This type of cancer is something that shows itself when it's too late.
Mom has been crying since she found out- about 30 minutes ago. She is absolutely heartbroken. We've know hana for a few years now- since 2007. She was very special to us.
we can't begin to tell you just how sad we are.
Please visit her blog and leave her mom a comment so she knows we all care and
she's not alone. It would mean a lot to us.
Also, tonight, we will be lighting a candle in her memory. Please join us.
To the sweet buttereskie, we hope you find peace
and we hope to meet you at the bridge one day

PRINCESS ISIS - Letter to Hana
http://princess-isis.blogspot.com/2009/11/letter-to-hana.html
Dear Hana,
I'm so sad you left me my dearest friend. You were the first dog to leave me a comment on my blog, way back in May, of 2007. You showed me all about blogging, and even did a wonderful post on your blog to help people find me and helped me make friends.
You were kind to me and even told your mom what kind of ribbon necklaces to make me. I wear them proudly, and I prance around every time i wear them. Now every time i wear them, i will prance higher and remember you and your kindness.
I hope that you will watch over your family hana, and know they are worried about you. I know you have made it to the bridge and are happily waiting there for them. You must remember that you have a very big responsibility to help those who will follow you to the bridge. Light their way, as you've lit the way for all of us the past 3 years you've been blogging. You always helped everyone here- and i know you'll make the best angel.
Please watch over all your friends. One day hana i hope to finally get to meet you and tell you how much we all love you when i meet you at the bridge. I know that you are watching, and you are still with us, but i still miss you lots.
We miss you hana. We miss you lots. We have cried lots for you. We lit a candle for you last night- we know you already found your way to the bridge, but just in case, we will do it every night this week. We will never ever ever forget you and your kindness, and we hope that your family will heal soon. We know it'll never completely go away- but we want them to be at peace as you are.
To my first eskie friend ever, i love you.
-love,
isis, hansel, benny, and tesla.
And the family.

PRINNIE - Goodbye, Hana
http://prinniesyaps.blogspot.com/2009/11/goodbye-hana.html
Today is the kind of day we wish never would be in our blog; it's a sad day. Hana, the sweet and inspiring American Eskimo from northern CA crossed, quite suddenly, over the Rainbow Bridge a few days ago. Our hearts are breaking for her mom and dad.
Hug those you love and hold them close because you never know when there won't be another tomorrow. I guess the only comfort of losing such a special eskie is knowing that on the other side of the bridge, to welcome her with open paws, was Dugan and Tobey and all the others that made their journey before her.

TEDDY: A Tribute to my very first DWB friend, Hana
http://teddystales.blogspot.com/2009/11/tribute-to-my-very-first-dwb-friend.html

Tonight we found out that my dear friend,
Hana, crossed the rainbow bridge on Friday. We are still in shock and Mommy had lots of tears. Hana was our first DWB friend and introduced us to so many of our special friends. We will miss you Hana. Please stop by Hana's blog to show her parents support and encouragement. Mommy says that sometimes there aren't words to ease someone's pain. We thought this song, Dancing with the Angels by Monk and Neagle was appropriate:
Memories surround me
But sadness has found me
I'd do anything for more time
Never before has someone meant more
And I can't get you out of my mind
There is so much that I don't understand
But I know...
You're dancing with the angels
Walking in new life
You're dancing with the angels
Heaven fills your eyes
Now that you're dancing with the angels
You had love for your family
Love for all people
Love for the Father, and Son
Your heart will be heard
In your unspoken words
Through generations to come
There is so much that I don't understand
But I know
We're only here for such a short time
So I'm gonna' stand up, shout out,
And sing Hallelujah
One day I'll see you again

WHITE DOG, SIKU MARIE:
http://whitedogblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/november-10-2009.html
White Dog was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of her dear friend, Hana. We cried and hugged each other and sent thoughts of love and support to her parents who must be in shock over their loss. Then White Dog looked at me and said, "Hana was a joyful girl; full of life let's celebrate her and let her live forever in our memories, not say goodbye in a river of tears!" White Dog can sometimes be very wise...so here is our picture of Hana, the beautiful
ButterEskie:
- Hana was regal not just because she was beautiful physically, she bore herself with a nobility, a generosity of spirit that invited us to share her adventures, and cheer for her stories.
- Hana was the first friend who ever left a comment on our blog. We blogged for over a year without ever receiving a word and one day there was Hana, saying "hi" and telling us how much she liked what we were writing. Then she posted an invitation on her own popular blog for everyone to come to White Dog Diaries to meet us.
- Hana was a gentlelady of style with tastes and habits similar to White Dog's; the first picture we saw of her she lounged on a bench wearing a lovely ribbon necklace. The lighting and her expression reminded us of the confidence and poise of Cleopatra. To this day White Dog will not wear any clothes EXCEPT for a ribbon necklace that Hana's mom made for her, she says when she does that she feels as elegant as her friend looked.
- Hana and her family can be counted on to help out those in need in our blog world. They helped organize auctions, make ribbon necklaces to donate, encourage the rest of us to visit newcomers, and are always among the first to post encouraging prayers for those with special needs.
- Hana and her mom regularly sent White Dog and Steve emails of support while I was in the hospital; they sent me cheery notecards which were one of the few bright spots in my hospital room. All of us so clung to those words.
- Hana loved Sammy Snacks enough that the owner of the treat company asked her to become a spokesmodel for their products...her magnetic personality and smile made her an instant star. Never a selfish diva, Hana recommended White Dog to Sammy Snacks for a spokemodeling opportunity as well.
- Hana is also the star of a series of wonderful everyday moment videos that her mom has posted on YouTube. Each captures the quiet everyday love in her home...each is a true affirmation of family.
- Hana came from a large family which has a yearly reunion; the ocean of white fluff from those gatherings was heart warming--and there was Hana right in the midst of it all! She and her mom continued the fun year round by arranging Eskie Meets with those who were in town visiting.
- Hana's Christmas magnet from last year still hangs low enough on the refrigerator for White Dog to see it regularly. Once when the cleaning lady knocked it off the door and it slipped under the unit, White Dog lay looking under the refrigerator and whimpered until Steve came home and could help us move the unit and rehang her friend's picture.
- Finally, White Dog does tear up as we think of what a magical beautiful butterfly Hana made this Halloween...and now she has wings of her own!
Hana is not gone; she will live forever in the hearts and memories of every single person (two- and four-legged) she has touched. We sat outside last night and looked to the stars trying to find Hana. One clearly winked at us and we knew it was White Dog's friend letting us know she is happy...and safe...and waiting.
