Before anything, I need to pass the BTT first. I think I'll start my practical lessons after I had completed my degree. I don't think that I'll have enough time for practical lessons due to my tight schedule. I have so many things that I want to learn but I've got so little time! So I have to learn them one by one. I think by the time I had finished learning all the things that I wanted, I am already quite old! hahahaa.... I think that's all for now. Will update again~ |

My last night was quite a peaceful one but because of the blood transfusion, it made me stayed awake for the whole night to make sure it finishes on time! I think the room was so warm that it ran until there's a bit of clots in the bag, therefore my colleague and I gotta stand there and make sure the remaining finish running! After this round of night, I have quite a number of off days!! SHIOK sia~ I can go out and shop, ask friends out for makan, stay at home and rot again! |

That also marks the end of my TL!! Basically today I learned about the pathophysiology of common respiratory diseases, what are the different types of shocks that patients will have, what are the treatments and care will be rendered, how to make sure the patients in ICA will have adequate nutrition, the common drugs used in ICA and the dilution of the drugs. After the completion of this course, there will definitely be a test to see how much we've absorbed! It'll be scheduled on 14th Dec~ Luckily only 30 mcqs! phew~~ Lastly, sad to say, tomorrow I'll be back to graveyard shift le! Here I come~ $$$ awaiting for me! hehehee..... |

Anyway, finally get to watch 2012 yesterday!! After watching it, I still prefer The Day After Tomorrow. In 2012, there are a lot of impossible scenes. The people just simply can escape death and not being hit by the rocks. I'll rate the movie 3/5. Not really worth watching~ Just some updates on the ICA course. On the 4th and 5th day of the course, we get to learn some pathophysiology of the heart and brain, the common diseases that we'll see in ICA, the treatment and care for these patients. On top of that, we also learned about the different types of ECGs that we'll be seeing in ICA, how to react when there are changes to ECGs and what to do during resuscitation. Sad to say tomorrow is the last day of the course and I'll be going back to work on Tuesday! That'll mark the end of the enjoyment period! *Back to reality....* |

Nothing much happened today as whatever taught today is what I've learned in ICA area.. The SSN talked about CVC, PICC line and IA line.. What are the indications, how to prime the lines and how to care for patients.. The speaker talked so slowly, with inaccurate pronunciation, until she delayed out break time! *bladder bursting, super hungry, wanna fall asleep when listening to her!* After lunch time, it's practical session! As the theory was covered before lunch, hands on will be more interesting! I didn't really practice on them and did the assessment because I had been doing it everyday during work.. Gotta let those who doesn't have a chance to play with them more.. Overall it's quite an interesting session.. Tomorrow will be on ECG~ Die liao! Have to interpret different types of ECG and what are the conditions.. Hope it's not too dry and I don't fall asleep! Oh yah! Tomorrow is Thursday! Finally can have dinner with mama le! heheez...... |

I am attending a 6 days course from yesterday onwards! It's Intermediate Care Area (ICA) Course for Nurses. Will be doing office hours for these 6 days!! The downside is, I've to squeeze into the crowded train every morning! This course is prepared by SGH training department, especially for nurses without med/surg trained. I've been working in MICA for 1yr+ and I've seen patients who came in with serious conditions, recovering and went to general wards~ Today is the 2nd day of the course and so far I find it quite ok. Maybe I have experience in nursing ICA patients, thus I know what are they talking about and easy for me to absorb as well! Tomorrow will be the 3rd day of the course. They'll be teaching arterial lines and central venous catheters, plus practical session! kekeke..... *office hour can be good in the sense that I get to eat and sleep normally* |

Supposed to start at 8pm but was delayed until about 8.30pm! They repeated the 4 MVs for 3 times!! I think she came out to sing 4-5 songs and the whole showcase ended.. In between there's a mini contest, where the winner will get an exclusive gift.. The showcase ended at about 9.30pm.. Actually nothing much too.. I think she's feeling unwell that's why no mood to perform.. As for work..... We actively resuscitated a patient yesterday late morning! My first time wor...... Luckily still have a bit muscle to do CPR! I am so sad that we could not revive the patient.. It was an unexpected collapse!!! haizzzz..... Today also quite eventful! One of my patient desaturated twice and BP crashed twice! So scary........ She don't look well to me~ Hopefully she'll get better.. |
