MUSHROOM, MUSHROOM!!!

i was standing outside the lift with my mum today and all of a sudden, she exclaims:

"EH!!!! you've got white spots!!! WHITE SPOTS!!!!! its fungus you know!!"

and proceeds to poke at strategic spots on my arms.

im like, thanks ah mum, i do know that white spots are fungus.

hahahaha.

so anyways the lift arrives and there's this other middle-aged auntie in it.

and goodness knows why, but out of the blue, i turn to my mum and say:

'' omg im full of fungus! like a mushroom like that!!! wah lau i think im a mushroom! here i go, scattering my spores! ''

the auntie in the lift suddenly looks a little uncomfortable, bordering on vaguely scared.

she starts fidgeting abit.

i think its actually quite funny and want to wave arms about in manner of scattering spores.

my mum on the other hand, gives me one of her infamous 'say anymore and you will die' expressions.

teeheeheehee.

anyways....

lumps: thanks for sharing. really enjoyed yesterday... to me, u'll always be that lumps i know!!! heart u!

mylene: i heart u! and the long walk that day was damn therapeutic la!! glad we had time together. happy birthday dear!!!

paddies and diapers: i heart u all alot alot!!! never get to see you all for a week.. not used to it!!! think i got withdrawal symptoms liao!! =)

hahahaha in something totally unrelated to my above shout-outs...

im beginning to realise that life's full of trade-offs.

can't always have my cake and eat it too can i??

oh well. =)

WHY SO LIKE THAT???!!!

i swear A Canticle For Leibowitz has got to be the most tedious book i've ever had to read.

its one of those apocalypse-type books.

science-fiction is so not my thing la.

thats the thing about doing lit i guess. its quite love-hate.

on one hand, you get to read books and call it study.

but on the other, you don't always get to choose what you want to read and that bites!

hehehe.

god knows why im taking sci-fi also.

clearly anything related to technology (aside from the beloved internet) is so not my area of expertise.

only 3 weeks into school and already i can't keep up with the reading list.

hahaha but when it comes to me, thats nothing new! =)

melancholic song this is, but i love it. melody's beautiful.

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind.
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do, crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
[Now] Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away, and all your money won't another minute buy.
Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind, everything is dust in the wind.

" AND YOUR MAJOR IS???? "

so a friend of mine asked me today, 'eh so what's your major ah?'

and i replied, 'lit lor.'

following which he responded, ( and i am amazed that he dared to considering i am prone to spurts of violence from time to time.. hehehe)

'you?? lit??? hah, really ah?? eh i thought those lit majors are supposed to be like quite cultured.'

i was like, '*%$@$%^#**%$!!!!!!! ' (insert appropriate expletive here)

hahahaha oh no. am sad-ded to discover that self does not give off lit major vibes.

i suspect it might be my generous vocabulary of hokkien bad words. (which i aquired through no fault of my own, i swear!)

hahahahaha.

hmmm.. might seriously have to consider wearing floaty skirts and sipping tea with my pinky finger sticking out.

ah well. =)

playing polo is so incredibly therapeutic i think.

gets everything out of the system.

all that pent-up rage.

heeheeheehee. i sound like a troubled kid on crack.

speaking of polo, some people are mad i tell you.

this afternoon, we discovered one of our polo balls outside the pool shed.

it had been intentionally deflated with staples (cos a couple of the staples were still sticking out of the ball)

and the vandal had the cheek to write ''f**k canoe polo'' on it somemore!!!!

siao. =(

takes all sorts to make the world, my mum would say.

wah am damn tired these days... school really sapping the energy out of me.

my only comfort being i guess, that at least the modules i got are pretty fun.

hahahaha final theory test tmr. and i haven't even cracked the book yet.

sounds familiar??

i shall go forth and conquer Advanced Theory of Driving (6th edition)!!!!!

heeheehee. =)

QUOTABLE QUOTE...

so the other day, i was going through one of those cheesy magazines my mum has.

and everybody knows what a huge fan of cheesy women's magazines i am.

ah what would the literary world be without them??

heeheehee.

anyways, there was this quotation i came across which i thought was damn funny.

from the mouth of quirky film director Woody Allen no less.

He said,

" hey, don't mock masturbation. It's sex with someone i love. "

hahahaha im actually not surprised that he was responsible for a quote like that.

after all, we're talking about a man who divorced his wife so that he could marry his adopted daughter.

again, the above nugget of information was courtesy of a cheesy women's magazine. (see? what would i do without them??) =)

hahahaha.

in other news, been getting my daily dose of the paddies this week... i heart them many many!

feels a little weird not to get to see them all today...

hahaha but will get to see tampon and carefree at boat-moving later.. so yay!!!! =)

this weekend's games are crucial, especially our first game tmr.

and in true tradition of all the team bloggers, i'll quote friday night lights too... the pretty much official movie of the team.

hehehehe.

Coach Gary Gaines: "I've seen you fight, I've seen you not quit... Can you be perfect??"

we will fight and we won't quit... go pads!!!!! =)

OYSTER BOY AND SUCH...

heeheehee... was just re-reading bits of tim burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy.

damn funny. in a demented kind of way i guess.

like one of my favourites:

Robot Boy

Mr and Mrs Smith had a wonderful life.
They were a normal, happy husband and wife.
One day they got news that made Mr Smith glad.
Mrs Smith would be a mum,
Which would make him the dad!

But something was wrong with their bundle of joy.
It wasn't human at all,
It was a robot boy!

He wasn't warm and cuddly,
and he didn't have skin.
Instead, there was a cold, thin layer of tin.
There were wires and tubes sticking out of his head.

He just lay there and stared,
not living or dead.

The only time he seemed alive at all,
was with a long extension cord
plugged into a wall.

Mr Smith yelled at the doctor,
" What have you done to my boy?
He's not flesh and blood.
he's aluminium alloy! "

The doctor said gently,
" What i'm going to say
will sound pretty wild.
But you're not the father
of this strange-looking child.
You see, there is still some question
about the child's gender,
but we think that its father
is a microwave blender. ''

The Smiths' lives were now filled
with misery and strife.
Mrs Smith hated her husband,
and he hated his wife.

He never forgave her unholy alliance;
a sexual encounter
with a kitchen appliance.

And Robot Boy
grew to be a young man.

Though he was often mistaken
for a grabage can.

hahahahaha funny hor??? =)

first day back at school was killer.

so not used to sitting through lectures all over again. heh.

but at least got to watch casablanca for the first time at film lect.

have always wanted to see it but never got round to doing so.

typical classic hollywood movie. but really nice nonetheless.. hehehe. =)

reading list for sci-fi is also quite cool.

earthsea, solaris etc... not bad la. =)

polo polo on my brain.

heeheehee. =)

I CAN"T THINK OF A POST TITLE..

... so gotta settle for this lousy and extremely uncreative one.

hahahahaha.

back from dinner with the nice shameless people.

its really nice to know that some things never change, even though we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like to. =(

talked and talked for like 4 hours straight.. hahahaha like we all got verbal diahorrea like that.

guess we go so way back with each other that we'll never run out of things to talk about. =)

being around them just made me feel so comfortable and happy.

its a good feeling. heh. =)

am damn tired now.

polo nat champs coming up real soon...

... its gonna be a long week ahead.
