in other news, polo year-end gathering was a blast! had a ball of a time!! friendlies this coming sunday tho.. am scared scared scared cos i always fumble up when im nervous! hehehe.. =0

just reviewed the modules im bidding for nxt sem and realised that i like them all v. much! most of them quite fun modules so hopefully my bubble doesn't get popped when skool starts should i realise they aren't as fun as i had hoped. hehehe. -cross fingers cross fingers-

there's some new year's eve block party going on at my place and they're blasting cheesy music whilst setting up. i cannot believe im jiggling to their cheesy music. what is the world coming to?? hahaha :s

hearing that song from phantom just struck a chord with me. guess everyone puts on a mask to disguise how they really feel sometimes. maybe its easier to deal with things that way... cos by wearing a mask u become less vulnerable and its a sorta protection i suppose.

Moving away from that, reading reports about the tsunami victims is really sad. what a way to usher in the new year. the reality of life being so fragile is frightening. guess its easy to lapse into this sub-conscious idea that we're gonna live forever so there's a tendency to take life for granted. This tragedy was kind of a reminder to me to treasure each day and live it to the fullest cos u never noe when life is gonna be taken away from u.

Don't be afraid to tell the people u love that u love them!! u never know if u'll have another chance to tell them so! =)

back from genting folks! with a bigger ass to boot cos all i did there was eat! haha.. tragic or what??!! i am so gonna sink my boat at training tmr. sheesh! =p

speaking of training, i have about 2 hours to kill b4 getting my ginormous ass down to ariel's for breakfast with her and kossy b4 we head off to training. was supposed to bunk over at her place but due to some unfortunate but rather comical mishaps, i've ended up coming back home instead! and what's even funnier, we've been keeping each other up on msn till its time for me to leave my house! oh man, are we gonna be zombified tmr or what??!! hahahaha... oh well! its one for the record of funny memories i guess!!

CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS...

already christmas.. i really do love christmas. whoo, time flies by eh?? and to think i can still remember last year's christmas! hahaha... goes to show just how quickly the year has gone by. =)

The only thing that remains consistent is change.

This year has been an eventful one. A wonderful, but eventful year. hahaha.. so many changes have taken place but its always good to know that some things don't change. The knowledge of that comforts me in the times i feel like i cannot keep up with all the change going on. hahaha.. im talking in circles here.. sorry guys. something i saw just bothered me and got me thinking about this. change is inevitable tho sometimes i realli wish it wasn't.

The past week leading up to christmas has been great. loved every moment of it..

- hanging out mel and sarah, talking about anything and everything under the sun. mel im so glad ur back. and sarah, yesh... sleepover, sleepover wld be great! ; )
- seeing the T1-ers again at ian's place. Just like old times back in cjc. had a good laugh and it felt good to be back in their presence again. brought back memories of sng, nathan and loads of great times.
- thot the wave-ryder sleepover was a blast! hahaha... scandals galore involving crackers and durian! hahaha.. god forbid the photos ever resurface to face the world! hahahah... but i had a bloody good time!
- meeting up with nas and mylene yesterday. seeing them always makes me feel happy.
- attempting to huff and puff carols with jen on our warm down row at training yesterday. We came up with a new carol for this yr! its in the works of being perfected. watch this space =)
- my granny's 71st birthday! which comes 2 days b4 christmas..its wonderful to see her so happy.
- going to midnight mass. There's something about midnight mass that gives christmas that extra-special oomph! hehehe

off to genting tmr. boredom on a 6hr bus ride - here i come!! hahaha... oh well. but im gonna be missing the friendlies against TP cos of that. sigh. wish i cld be there... *cheers for the team* but i'll be rooting for u guys all the way!!! hahaha... =)

exam results being released tmr too. ewww.... talk abt a wonderful christmas gift eh? -wrinkles nose- =0

ok, im outta here. off to see relatives who will probably proceed to ask me a host of embarrassing questions. Gah.

WASTING AN AFTERNOON OF SWEAT...

by eating bloody Mcdonald's!!!! argh. condemned, condemned. all the effort put into today's gym training totally wasted by giving in to a "i need Mcdonald's!!" moment. sigh. oh well. hahahaha...

my mother bought me 3 of those el cheapo $4 classics books but she won't give me back my phone. bloody hell. i bet she's anticipating the books will keep me from going mad during my period of being grounded at home. hahahaha

i feel sore from gym. yikes. anyways, there's polo tmr so yay!! hahaha.. den am gonna catch up with sarah and m.ho when they come over tmr afternoon and later in the night, with my ex-classmates at ian's!! goody, can't wait... now all i have to do is figure out a way to get myself ungrounded for tmr night. ideas, anyone?? hehehehe

TRAGIC STORY...

i just finished reading a book that made me want to cry. It's called Holding the man and it was written by this writer who was homosexual and documenting his relationships and struggle with AIDS. what was tragic was that he infected his partner and eventually his partner died b4 he did. But the whole description of his partner's downward spiral and eventual death just got me super choked up. damn sad. he realli did love the guy.

and something the writer said in his book realli struck me.

When he saw what was left of his lover after the disease had totally ravaged him, he said: "There's not a lot of dignity in death eh?"

it made me wonder if there is any truth in that.

The last time i was that impacted by a book was when i read sleepers. This one was damn good tho. hahaha.. guess this is wat happens when my dear old mum shuts me up at home.. i read these books and get really emotional about them. hee. =)

PHONELESS...YIKES!!

sigh. the mum has decided to take my phone away from me. and to add to that, ground me as well. apparently this is what happens when i don't call her to tell her im coming home late. hahaha... aiyah, i guess i deserve it lah. should have called her to tell her. yup, anyways after getting a whole earful from her and the dad, she says i can have back my hp privileges when i prove to her i've learnt how to use a phone for proper purposes (ie. calling her when im gonna be home late)... but i figure, how to prove anything when i got no phone to prove with??!!! hehehehe... oh well. such is life i guess. shouldn't have made her worry. hope she gives it back soon tho. ={ In the meantime, u guys can call my house if anything ya?

A NOT- SO- PROFOUND ENTRY...

totally pooped. hahaha... i always get like that after training. then i'll get on the bus, fall asleep in a corner and always wake up almost too late for my stop. hahaha.. its becoming a standard routine liao. but training's always fun, so i guess i don't mind the embarrassing moments on the bus where i sleep with my mouth open ( and i bet that happens ALOT cos i always sleep with my mouth open). or diligently trying to ignore the dirty looks i get from other good commuters of the Singapore bus service when i wake up suddenly and realise its my stop and then i haf to " 'scuse, 'scuse " my way out of the bus whilst treading on many many toes. hahahaha...

i have these weird thoughts going on in my head. no good, no good.

SWEEPING DUST IN THE CORNERS OF MY MIND...

hahahaha... i have a squillion random thoughts in my head right now. just had a sudden urge to write a couple of them down.

i suddenly feel like reading sleepers, the one book that traumatised me so much i felt like bawling whilst reading it. only thing is, i can't bloody find it. drats.

the dyed bits of my hair have gone from bright pinkish-red to orange to an even paler orange and now im just waiting for it to turn completely pale. am miffed. eek, my hair looks like it's rotting.

rowing with jen tmr. whoopee! as jen says, im probably deprived of her insults after she's been away a week.

there's some v. gorgeous nokia phone that i like v. much but know i will never be able to afford unless i hawk every bloody thing i own. and even then, that still might not get me the pretty phone. bah!
ah well, looks like im stuck with my "looks-like-the-one-in-the-national-day-goody-bag" phone. hahahaha... =p

am also v. peeved that i've gone and lost my favourite gray jacket today. it had MY SMELL on it. dang. =(

hahaha.... meeting up with liza and sheena for lunch later... goody! can't wait... hahaha... have been missing them loads this hols! hahaha... after that am off to skool for my very first canoeing training in a v. long time!! sheesh.. knowing me and how lazy i am, im probably gonna be the most utterly useless person there! hahaha... ah well, am off to go tap tap tap my dad's info into the computer. here's to another 2 more boring hours. :0

POLO!!

yesterday was a v. good day!! hahaha... match with SP turned out to be a v. good experience.. tho v. nerve-wracking cos i was so scared. was kinda peeved at myself tho for not being able to roll up during the game when i was capsized by the cool butch which led to a very embarrassing red-face inducing moment regarding the 'cool butch number 8'' who pushed me down... guess i was too panicked and couldn't keep get my act together when i was capsized... argh... of all the times to not be able to roll up, it had to be this one.... sheesh...hahaha... but everyone realli went all out and put in sucha lot of effort.. think everyone played great..thot it was fab for our first game.. wave-ryders! wave-ryders! wave-ryders rock!!! yeah!!!!!

hahahaha... the embarrasing incident regarding the ''cool butch number 8'' was well summed up in kos's blog.. and all i did was tell the others i thot the butch wearing the number 8 was super super cool!! i didn't even noe the incident had occured till the others told me later!! did someone say malu??!!! hahaha.. im fact, kos's version is so totally well-described i've put in the excerpt from her blog (credits to kos for copyright! hahaha):

JB trip was super super great!! headed there after SP matches.. i had sucha fun time!!!! think getting there was half the fun! hahaha... playing heart attack at the mrt, walking the entire length of the causeway (back and forth! hahaha), getting stranded on the roadside with kos after the bus driver dropped us off and wldn't let the others out till abt ten minutes later cos he was driving off with the flow of traffic (super hilarious! hahaha), seafood dinner, funny hand signs that were accompanied by slaps and most of all, wonderful wonderful company!!! laughed so much i was completely pooped when i got back. thot it was a fab experience for my first trip out of s'pore without my parents. hahahah... must go again!!! =)

FRIENDLIES... AND A TRIP TO JB

friendly match with SP later today... freaky freaky. am scared shitless cos have never played in a match b4 so am crossing my fingers that i don't get too paralysed with fear...hahahaha....

and after that, we're headed to JB for the evening!!! seafood, seafood! can't wait.... this is probably the first time my mum has ever let me have my passport to go somewhere without her. amazing. sheesh. hahaha... but im definitely not complaining... am realli looking forward to it!! hehehe...

crap, my hair dye ran whilst at training just now. darn, must have been the chlorine. i looked like i was bleeding from the head. hahaha... definitely not good!! =p

PINK! OR NOT REALLY...

much to my mother's horror and against everything she considers to be sensible in this world, i've gone and got myself pink tips in my hair! hahaha... my mum thinks im absolutely nuts to say the least! hahaha.. its not much but am so pleased with it. oh gosh, im such a goondu. =) Thanks nas for the great company!!

Last night was v. fun!! had a darn good time.

i love love love polo. hahaha... ok, think i might be officially mad now. must be all the pink dye seeping into my already non-existent brain. =p

BLOGGER IS A PAIN IN THE ASS...

after not having worked for weeks in a row, blogger has finally decided to stop annoying me! sheesh!

the holidays have been going great so far... it does feel v. nice not to have to agonize over not knowing anything for exams. hahaha... well this state of happiness will probably exist till the 26th when i get my results after which i will be condemned cos im probably gonna flunk out and do super badly. oh well, shall enjoy this while it lasts.

hahaha... finally managed to try shisha a couple of weeks ago.. this turkish water pipe thing at arab street which we've been meaning to try for ages. let's just say that it turned out absolutely nothing like we expected. instead of puffing the pipe oh so gracefully and exotically as we had imagined, we bloody ended up sputtering and choking cos the stuff tasted so bad! hahaha... think liza was the only one who liked it and managed to look convincing doing it. the rest of us looked like sucha joke! it was damn funny!! so much for looking exotic eh?? aside from the water pipe, the company and the food was great!!! =)

hahahaha... jie mei's send off on monday went realli well!!! hahaha... think we did manage to totally surprise him.. apparently he still can't get over the shock. Xn and belle were incredibly convincing unlike myself who is the worst liar in the world. hahaha.. i nearly gave the whole thing away cos i was so unconvincing when i called him to check where he was to make sure he hadn't left yet. i was so full of "ummmms" and "uhhhhhs" and i was supposed to pretend i was at the airport coincidentally sending off another fren whilst the rest tried to find places to hide b4 he came. i was so lousy and flustered my story couldn't even stay straight! hahaha.. i went from telling him my fren was leaving for cambodia to my fren was already in cambodia to god knows wat else! hahahaha... everyone was like, "oh no! kimmmmmm...". ok but despite that, he was still totally stunned to see us! =p

hahahaha... oh! and kossy got picked up by a guy who was working at the swensens we were eating at!!! hahahah... way to go kos!!!!! =) it was damn funny cos we were eating when all of a sudden we realised the waitresses were kinda crowding round our table. we were quite stunned at first cos thot they were gonna chase us out or something... turns out they wanted to tell kos this guy in the kitchen was interested in getting to know her!!! hahaha... so cute!!! den Xn pretended to be her gf and they started "gaying" (kudos to sweeting for that word! hahaha) around!! yesh kos, i was almost convinced!! u guys do look like a very cute couple -wink- hahahaha.... went to shar's family bbq thing after that wif some of the f10. it was gd to catch up with them..have been missing them loads!! =)

oh god. my tuition kid's aunt told her i look like a boy when she saw me yesterday. condemned liao. =0

hahahah... and i finally watched 'the nightmare before christmas' when jen and andrea came over to stay. i love that movie!! its so great! can't believe i've nv watched it b4.. since then, i've nicked jen's dvd and watched it oh, i dunno another 20 million times?? hahaha... think i shall go watch it another time now... sheesh.. its like a bloody addiction! hahaha...
