Today I am thrilled to introduce our "extra-special" Guest Designer for the day - Bev Gerard of Savor the Journey.
I have had the opportunity to work with Bev on a couple of Design Teams and she is one of the sweetest people I have met online. I hope to say someday that I have met her in person!
She designed the cutest greeting for us today using one of our digital images, Paper Boy.
Isn't her coloring and paper piecing great? I love that she used some newsprint paper for her background. Bev will be joining us for one of our challenges in December, so you can look forward to another one of her creations coming up!
Thank you, Bev, for being our Guest Designer today!
Stop by her blog and leave her some Hambo love!

We Need To Catch Up
Happy Black Friday friends!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to spend a nice time with family and friends. Maybe some of you might have gotten a few deals today too! But if you are like me, Cyber Monday is more my speed. :)
Today I wanted to share this darling image of Snail Rake. A perfect image to use for the special someone you are wanting "to catch up" with.
I colored the image with Copics and used a block pattern with my patterned paper called Acorn Hollow from Little Yellow Bicycle. The image was cut out with my oval nesties and popped up over the block pattern finished with some canvas ribbon and a paper flower.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look for some inspiration.

Two by Two... Hoorah Hoorah!!
For this weeks interactive card challenge, I have made an interactive side stepper card.
I started off with the BOAT digital image. It has has an "Action Wobble" thingy on the back which makes it not only wobble but rock from side to side. I knew I wanted to put something else in the boat with him, so I stacked up all the possibilities, printed them off, and set about cutting them out......and in Judy's words "Geez"!! Yep... I went way "overboard" here.
I do love cutting out and I am a bit of a perfectionist in that department, I think it stems from when I was a little girl and in the magazines there would be a girl and you had to cut her out and cut out her clothes with tabs on, can anyone remember what I am going on about??? Paper dolls!

So.... yes I am proud of this card, not just for the cutting out but for the fact that I used EIGHT separate Hambo images, fifteen in total....Pheww!! I actually made this card for my friend's little boy who had his second birthday, but yes....(you were right, Lyn)... I just couldn't part with it to be thrown in the trash the next day!! So he got another one....ohhh I am such a meanie!! I had so much fun making this card. We have a great challenge and I hope you can join in. I would love to see your creations. ~~Jane :)
The digi images I used are BOAT, KANGAROO, BIRD BALLOON, BIRD EGG -- the two different fish are from the SNORKEL BOY set, and the ELEPHANT and BIG GIRAFFE are rubber stamps.

For my card today, I also participated in the Splitcoast Stampers Free 4 All Challenge this week which is called Have A Heart (F4A196). So I included a heart button on my project. Play Along!!!

It's a POPCORN Shaker!
It is day two of Hambo's INTERACTIVE CHALLENGE and I have another fun one. Seriously, I will sit at my desk and play with these things until I make myself put them to the side for mailing...I don't want to wear out the "mechanisms" before someone else gets to play with them (haha!)
Today's card is a traditional shaker card. What isn't so traditional is what's shaking... It's POPCORN. A perfect accompaniment to Wee Henrietta Popcorn don't you think??
Sooo I decided to try a picture tutorial. I hope it makes sense to you so give me feedback!! Here we go...
1. Shaker Supplies: Foam sheet, Die cuts (size and shape depends on you but you need one that fits inside the other), Acetate, Glue stick, Shaker material, Image, Cardstock.
NOTE: height depends on shaker material - the popcorn required something thicker. I couldn't get anything thicker than 3mm foam to work with the die cut so I doubled up. I normally don't use big shaker stuff so this is not a problem - one layer of 3mm works great.
2. Using the largest die (in this case the scallop), cut out the image, the acetate, the cardstock, and the foam.
3. Center the smaller die (in this case the circle) and recut the foam pieces as well as the cardstock (this will create "frames" from each)
TIP: After I cut out the foam "frames", I put all the cut outs back together and run them through the Xyron - on both sides. Then my frames are sticky, and I can use everything else as dimensional foam.
4. Stick the frames together and adhere the stack to the image. (If you don't have a Xyron, use your glue stick here and make sure to let it dry well before moving to next step...)
5. Now you are going to make a sandwich with your pieces.
6. Put your shaker element onto your decorated card base and have fun...
Thanks for stopping by!! And as the inside of my card says... (you thought I had forgotten didn't you??)

- Put the shaker material into the cavity.
- Line up the acetate with foam pieces and adhere it on top. (the top edge should be sticky from Xyron or you can use glue stick)
- Add adhesive (I like glue stick for this) onto the back of the cardstock frame, center it up with rest of sandwich and adhere it on top of the acetate. (I would normally try to make the foam the same color or a similar color to the top frame; however, I used black and white so you could see them clearly.)
- This is your shaker element.
6. Put your shaker element onto your decorated card base and have fun...

By Golly ~ Get Jolly!
If you're looking for a fun way to take a bottle of sparkling wine or an adult beverage to a holiday gathering, perhaps this may be just the thing you're looking for!
It's a gift and a card all rolled into one, and you can still write a personal message on the back.
I just adore the Pig Tangle image and sentiment set that I used here, but the possibilities are certainly endless.
Just another quick holiday gift idea ~ Enjoy!

Geronimouse!
Dropping by on this Monday with a fancy fold project for you, perfect to write a note, and maybe even tuck in a little treat!
This one would be great for a birthday using Geronimouse, with the sentiment from the Bailey Flower digital set:
Of course with the holiday's right around the corner, I think we're always looking for different ways to present a gift certificate, so here is another sample using Elf Gift, with the sentiment from the Pig Tangle set:

{Em}Brace Your Smile!
Happy Sunday Hambo friends!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend with nice weather! Unfortunately, where I live, the weather is a decent temperature, but wet and rainy! It is, however, a nice way to do some crafting and relax around the house!
Today I wanted to share with you a cute Hambo digi image called Braces Boy. (There is a Braces Girl too!) This is a perfect image for your child or someone you know who may have just gotten some braces and just needs a reassurance that they can continue to smile and be happy with braces on. My boys recently got braces put on and I think this will be a great card to give them just to make them 'Smile!' :)
For this card, I used the most recent Deconstructed Sketch for the layout and some papers from Teresa Collins called Memories. I printed out the image and colored him in with Copics and then popping him up using some thin adhesive pop ups from 3-L which you can find in the Supplies section of the Hambo Store. LOVE these adhesive foam squares. Just enough pop when you don't want too much dimension. I finished the card with some twine placed behind the popped up middle panel.
Don't forget! You have 2 more days to play along in our current challenge of CAS. Play along with us for your chance to be Queen of the Hoedown! Thanks for stopping in today!!

A Giraffe, A Bird, and A Nun!!
Hi! Jane here to tell you a little bit about the two CAS cards I made for this week's ongoing Hoedown Challenge.
First, this card is made using BIG GIRAFFE rubber stamp and the BIRD EGG digi image. You might ask..."If it is called bird egg, where is the egg part of the image?" Well, the bird is sitting on top of the egg so I cut that part off and stuck the little fella on top of the giraffe.
I stamped the giraffe image onto the blue cardstock first, then stamped him again cutting off his mane, colored him in then stuck him over the first stamped image. I know I am the cutting out Queen, LOL, but there are limits!! That way I didn't have to cut round his mane..or whatever it is actually called!

My second card is using the cheeky NUN digital image. This week's SCS Try A New Technique Challenge was all about revisiting paper piecing. Well, I'm all for that!! I am not the best at coloring so I welcomed this challenge. The added option was to use washi tape.
As I was looking through my Hambo Digi Images I stopped at this cheeky NUN. I can remember using her before and being daunted by the huge area of her habit to color, so my mind was made up. Then I thought....mmmmm why not a flowered habit!!! And so that is where the idea of the "Nun-Conformist" sentiment came from. Yep, I can definitely get used to paper piecing....it's a doddle!
Hope you can play along in this week's CAS challenge! You have right up to Monday, and the winner will be announced Wednesday along with a new Hoedown Challenge!

You are one in a...
Chameleon!!
Hello! It is Bacon Bit, Juliana, today.
I love puns! Yeah, I am that person, that comes up with puns that usually make folks groan and roll their eyes at me.
I couldn't let Mr. Hambo's (Tim) birthday go by without one.
This card was done in the CAS (Clean & Simple) style and there is still time for you to get a CAS card entered into the Hambo Hoedown Challenge #137.

I couldn't let Mr. Hambo's (Tim) birthday go by without one.
One thing I really love about this Reptile image is his blank
shirt!
I replicated a Hawaiian shirt with Copic markers.
The colorful mat is white cardstock and I used the same colors
from coloring the image to go around the edge. This is a great trick if
you don't have patterned paper to go with your image.
