First Day of School

Kyler's first day of Kindergarten! When did he grow up??? I can't believe he's already in Kindergarten. I had a very emotional week. I couldn't believe my little boy had started school. Needless to say, he really loves it. I love hearing about everything he learns everyday. He actually will tell me what he learns and what he does at school. It's so nice!!!

Just to add to the emotions, my little Abby started preschool too! I can't believe that she is going to be four years old this year. She is 4 going on 18. When I dropped her off the first day she told her teacher that she would "listen and obey" and then when I picked her up she told me "I'm never, ever going back there again" (with the hand motions and all). When I told her that she had school again in two days, she simply said, "oh, ok". She sure keeps me on my toes.

Today she brought home her "all about me" poster. It said what her favorite things are and who her family members are. Then is asks "I am special because" and her answer was "Colt told me at Nonna's house." Then it asked how she helps others, her answer was "by handing out treats and lots of pancakes and waffles." :-)

Twin Falls Fair--Too Much Fun

Kyler was tired after all the fun and excitement of the fair. Shane carried him on his shoulders to the car because he was too tired to walk, and all of a sudden Kyler got really heavy on Shane's shoulder. This is why.

Twin Falls Fair- Rides

The kids really loved the rides at the fair. Kyler got a little carried away and took off to go on the slide fun house. He just ran through the gate, no tickets or anything, before we could stop him. Needless to say, he loved the fun house and slide but he didn't get to go on the last ride with the other kids. He was bummed but we all had to laugh. It seems like every year he manages to do something to "get" the carnies. Last year he took a toy out of one of the buckets by one of the games tents. (We made him give it back and this year we gave the attendant the tickets so he didn't go on the thing for free)

Twin Falls Fair- Cows

The kids tried milking the cows at the fair. They did a pretty good job. Abby wouldn't have any thing to do with it. She thought it was gross.

She can't walk but she sure can climb!!!

Abby--My wild child

I love watching Abby. She can be the bravest little kid. We went to go out for a picnic lunch and 4 wheeler ride a few weekends ago and stopped at Papa and Nana's house to borrow the 4 wheelers. They got the little motorcycle out for the kids to take a spin.

I loved watching her zip around. Kyler rode around too but those pictures were on the lost IPod.

Family Vacation

August 12th and 13th we took the kids down to Utah for a little family vacation and school shopping. We went to the Museum of Ancient History at Thanksgiving Point and the Hogle Zoo. The kids liked the dinosaur museum but the part they liked best wasn't the dinosaurs, it was the part when we went to the sand and water room. They got to dig for plastic dinosaurs and make rivers and bury the dinosaurs again. I think the guys had just as much fun with this as the kids did. We also went to the zoo while we were there. The kids LOVED it. Their favorite part there wasn't the actual animals but the dinosaur robots placed all over the zoo. Ironic isn't it...

Anyhow I only have a few pictures of the zoo that I took on my camera. Abby rode the carousel like this the whole time. She is so afraid of heights that she wouldn't let go. She had a good time but she definately held on tight.

This is a picture of Kyler, Cole, Kyree, and Abby. They all had a really good time running around the zoo. We went to the bird show and an eagle owl flew right over our heads. We could feel the wind from its wings. We also saw the elephants get a bath. It was such a good day.

Tessa birthday (catching up)

Ok so I have been slacking lately. Tessa's birthday was July 30th. We had tons of adorable pictures of her digging in to her cake, but we lost the IPod so we don't have them anymore. When we realized our loss we reached out to some people that were at the party and thanks to Nonna we got some pictures of her birthday but I can't get them to upload tonight. They were on a cell phone so I don't know if the picture format is compatible.

We had a party for her with our families and a few friends. We gave her her own little cake and she loved it! She was digging in with her little fists and squeezing the cake and frosting. By the time she was done she had cake everywhere; all over her body, the kitchen, everywhere. It was so fun to watch her exploring this new thing. She even dug in with her face, instead of using her hands to feed her, she put her face in the cake and took a bite.
She is such a sweet little girl and brings such joy to our home. I can't imagine life without her in our home. She is so loved by her older brother and sister and her parents. Tessa has a very happy personality and a contagious smile. We love her so much.
