I'm still alive!!!
Okay to everyone who has been emailing wondering if I am okay, I am doing great. The life of wife, mother, taxi driver, nurse, active church member, military family group leader etc hav really consumed my life. I think my last entry was about Ashley's Appendix surgery. SO needless to day the kids are keeping my busy.
I had no idea how much of a religion football and marching band were in the south. Hence I am driving almost every day to take Ashley to some kind of marching band practice or event 5 times a week. In addition Taylor is in Gymnastics and Cheerleading and Joshua is in soccer and Boy Scouts. Its hard trying to be three places at once (believe me I have tried. ) Anyway the kids are really liking Alabama!! They are all doing great in school! They continue to amaze me in their ability to start over in a new school and to quickly distinguish themselves as great students and individuals! I am truly blessed with my children and the amazing people they are becoming!!
Oh, by the way those of you who know me well don't fall over but in the middle of all of this settling down in Alabama I have completely fallen in love with our new addition our cocker spaniel Pepper. I was laying down the other day playing with her on the floor and Scott came home and he said "who are you and what have you done with my wife?" She has somehow gotten into my heart. Who would have thought!!
Scott is loving Aviation and the Army. His command and flying and training keep him busy!! I'm so proud that he is able to juggle all of this and still work with the teen boys in our church in spiritual development as well as in the Boy Scouting Program. Joshua loves hanging out with his dad in these activities!!
So just to let you know Fort Rucker is treating us well, it's just keeping us busy!!!

First Day of Fourth Grade
I can't believe my baby is in fourth grade! She informed me that she didn't want me walking her to school because fourth graders don't need their parents with them!! She is a brave little girl walking into a brand new school that she has never been too!! (It does help that we live next to the school and I watched her walk all the way there!! She never looked back!! My baby is growing up!!!

Its feeling like home

I can't believe we have already been in Alabama for over three weeks. Talk about fast and furious. I have been unpacking and decorating, sorting and tossing, filling out moutains of paperwork to register the kids for school and sports, and house training a puppy. We had a Change of Command Ceremony, hosted 100 people at a welcome reception. We have managed to fit in swim parties and the kids making new friends. Ashley has attended a week of band camp (8 hours a day)(They are serious about their bands and football in here in the south. ) Ashley also fit in an LDS Youth conference at Troy State University with 500 hundred other kids. Taylor is signed up for cheerleading and Gymnastics and Joshua for soccer. We have made multiple trips to the Gym here on post sice Joshua and Taylor have fallen in love with climbing the 2 story rockwall they have there. I feel like we have done more in the last three weeks than we usually do in a year. I guess thats the blessing in starting over in a new area it takes the hurt off of missing those you left behind.
I'm tired!!!!
The END....

Promise Kept!
The newest member of the family Pepper Anne. A promise is a promise and we promised the kids on this move we would finally get a dog. After two other attemps in the past 6 months the third time was a charm and we finally got our dog. On July 8th the day after the moving truck left we got Pepper. She is an American Cocker Spaniel and we already love her!! I will say a puppy is keeping us very busy in the middle of unpacking!!!

THE BLOG IN MY HEAD
If you could only see inside my head you would see the most amazing blog entries. They have catchy titles, fabulous pictures, and the most descriptive words. Things like my Amazing Patriotic husband gives an amazing memorial day speech that brought the crowd to tears. Or Those Amazing Military kids Ashley, Joshua and Taylor are being so positive about our next move!! Or A PUPPY WILL SOLVE EVERYTHING!! Yes a puppy adoption three weeks from now is making everyone even more excited about the move (except me who feels like an expectant mother awaiting a whole new life experience). Another entry would be MOVING is SO MUCH WORK!! We need orders!!(Military speak for when do we leave? when do our movers come? when do we shut off the power? and when do we need to be there?) STRESSSSSS!!!!!!! So MUCH TO DO SO LITTLE TIME!
I thought I would at least say hello before I lose my small, but loved blog audience!!!
I will try and get more entries out of my head and on to my blog!!!

Congrats to my hubby!!!

LTC Scott Halverson was officially selected as an Army Battalion Commander today.
He will be commanding an Attack Helicopter training Battalion at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
It has been exciting as his wife to share in this adventure of the Army together. We are going back to where he started out in the Army as a young 2LT. Its so fun to see his hard work over the past 19 years come full circle to return and command in a unit where he was once a student.
I love you Scott and I couldn't be more proud.
Alabama here we come!!!

LaVern and Shirley
Most friends just take you to lunch before they drop you off a the airport!! Not my friend Kathryn!!!She took me to the LDS Church Cannery. Actually we had a blast working on Kathryn's food storage and we realized that we make a good team in getting things done!!! Not to mention we were able to score a free beautiful set of matching hair nets, plastic aprons, and latex gloves. I know you are all jealous of the look!

St. Patricks Day Parade Newport, RI
Boy were we suprised at what a big deal the St. Patrick's Day Parade was in Newport. It was huge and it went on for hours. We got great parking though!! We had a Police officer who felt sorry for Joshua and his broken leg so we got to park close by. Ashley marched with the band
in the parade and Scott walked as a bouncer with the band cause the Irish drinking crowd gets a little rowdy. Taylor and Joshua Loved it!!!

I'm back!!
Hello everyone!
I am back among the living in the blog world. I have to say that February was just so blah that it seemed I just didn't have anything to write about. It was funny ,on March 2nd the day Joshua broke his leg, we were sitting in the ER and Joshua says "Mom now you finally have something to put on your blog. " I also knew it had been a long time when my best friend Nadja in Germany emailed me to ask if everything was all right! Thanks to my friends for checking on me!!! This year in Rhode Island has been a long winter. Lot's of snow and snow days for the kids. With make up days now we are going to school until the 26th of June (yuck!)
My sanity lies 26 days away. I can't wait to go to Hawaii with my sweetheart!! Scott and I are so looking forward to our trip. Taylor is not so excited about our trip! She hates it whan Scott and I are both gone!! She refers to our trip as "dumb hawaii"
So yes Dumb Hawaii here we come!!!!

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!
18 months ago Joshua broke his right tibia during a
soccer game. After casts and physical therapy just
last month he was running without a limp! Fast forward to
Monday, March 2. The kids were home for a
snow day( I know a snow day in March) and
Joshua and Ashley were horsing around. Joshua went to
karate kick Ashley and she blocked with her knee and the
next thing I hear is Joshua yelling I have broke my leg again!! Its
broke! I can feel it just like last time!!!
Sure enough one emergency room visit later we came home with Joshua
and his broken leg same side and about the same place as last time!!
Poor kid!!!! Its going to be a long 8 weeks!!!

Book Recommendation

We just read the book "Life is so Good" written by George Dawson and Richard Glaubman, for our book group this month. I really enjoyed this book. In this book, 103-year-old George Dawson, a slave's grandson who learned to read at age 98, reflects on his life and offers valuable lessons about life in a simple unassuming way. Great read!!

The "Mii" Halverson Family by Wii
This is our animated family according to the wii fit
exercise game. Did I mention that I am the family hula
hoop champion. Joshua actually has video of my championship
round but I really don't want to scare anyone. Definately two thumbs
up on the wii fit except for the fact that it weighs you,
and asks you why you didn't work out yesterday. Okay
maybe that is a good thing since we are heading to Hawaii.

Blog Challenges
Thank you to my friends who give the blog challenges. Keep them coming. I have decided that I work really well with a know deadline. I always have all of these ideas and plans but somehow they don't seem to get accomplished and then someone gives me a challenge and deadline and magically I have instant motivation!
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!
