The time has flown by and I haven't posted anything for months.  I think that there are probably only 2 people who even check to see if there is anything new on my blog.  Well, I wish I had time to post something worth blogging about.  Life is crazy!  I started college in September so most of my free time is being used to get my assignments done and handed in on time.
I am taking a Book of Mormon class and it is very time consuming.  It is intense but rewarding.  In class for the last 6 weeks we have had to create, participate in, and follow through with a practicum.  I chose my topic on Prayer.  It has been extremely productive to do this and I am glad that I did.  I read an amazing talk by President Spencer W. Kimball on this very topic and feel the need to post it here.  Enjoy :) Well it's very long so I will only post a few passages.

Prayer

Spencer W. Kimball
When should we pray? The answer: pray always. But to be more specific, the Church urges that there be family prayer every night and every morning. It is a kneeling prayer with all or as many members of the family present as possible. Many have found the most effective time is at the breakfast and at the dinner table. Then it is least difficult to get the family members together. These prayers need not be long, especially if little children are on their knees. All of the members of the family, including the little ones, should have opportunity to be mouth in the prayer, in turn.
The Lord does answer our prayers, but sometimes we are not responsive enough to know when and how they are answered. We want the “writing on the wall” or an angel to speak or a heavenly voice. There must be works with faith.
You who pray sometimes, why not pray more regularly, more often, more devoutly? Is time so precious, life so short, or faith so scant? How do you pray? Like publicans or arrogant officials? The Pharisee recounted to the Lord his many virtues. He was not an extortioner, unjust, an adulterer like the publican or other men. He fasted twice a week and tithed possessions. But the publican standing humbly in the background “would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me a sinner.” (Luke 18:13.)
Do you get answers to your prayers? If not, perhaps you did not pay the price. Do you offer a few trite words and worn-out phrases, or do you talk intimately to the Lord? Do you pray occasionally when you should be praying regularly, often, constantly? Do you offer pennies to pay heavy debts when you should give dollars to erase that obligation?
When you pray, do you just speak, or do you also listen? Your Savior said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Rev. 3:20.)
The promise is made to everyone. There is no discrimination, no favored few. But the Lord has not promised to crash the door. He stands and knocks. If we do not listen, he will not sup with us nor give answer to our prayers. Do you know how to listen, grasp, interpret, understand? The Lord stands knocking. He never retreats. But he will never force himself upon us. If we ever move apart, it is we who move and not the Lord. And should we ever fail to get an answer to our prayers, we must look into our lives for a reason.

March Madness
The month of March is a big one for our family...and this year was no exception.  We have three birthdays to celebrate this month.  Plus the YW fundraiser to prepare and get ready for.

Nola came up with this great idea.  We would make two quilts.  One BYU and the other Utes.  I was honored to sew the BYU quilt.  Then at the fundraiser there was a live auction and we would have them auctioned at the same time to see which would earn the most funds.  Our ward is awesome and we were able to send 4 girls with the money earned just from the two quilts.
Sorry no finished product pics (forgot) but I bound the edge in the gold that is around the Y.  It looked really nice.
Kendell is getting big.  She is four now.  She had a great birthday with the family.
Brooklyn turned one year old.  Wow!  She even started walking the day before her birthday.

And we can't forget Madison.  She had a very big birthday this year.  12 years old! It was awesome if I don't say so myself.  She had 13 of her friends over for a spa party.  Lots of work but fun in the end!  I am just glad it is over and I can breath./>

April I went to SLC with Madison, Brooklyn, Grandma, Nola, Meagan, and Addie.  We met Gary's two sisters and Katlyn too.  We went to YW Conference and did lots of other fun things in SLC.  Love that place.
I am not in the pic! Sorry!!

Later in April Grandma Snyder came to visit and spend Easter with us.  It was so awesome to have her here and for more than 6 days too.  She was here for 21/2 weeks.  She helped me so much with getting things organized.  It always goes by so fast. I am truly blessed with great kids, an awesome hubby and wonderful parents.  Our family Rocks!

Makeover

Our little Brooky (10 months) looking at our kitchen cabinets in the 90's style for the last time!

Finished the cabinets but have to do all the cupboards and drawers yet!
Waiting for the stain to dry.
Finish product.
We love it!!!!!
We have been planning to refinish our kitchen cabinets since December.  We came across this product called Rustoleum which comes as a kit to refinish your kitchen cabinets.  Its inexpensive and took us 4 to5 days to do from start to finish.

Six Months all in a row

Time doesn't stand still!  It flies by so fast.  The evidence clearly manifests itself through our age and our little Brooklyn has turned Six months already.  Wow, it feels like yesterday that I was giving birth to her and holding this tiny 10 pounder in my arms!  She is such a little cutie pie.  She is very content just watching her brother and sisters play.  She rolls over and sits up with no problem.  She is happily smiling and "ga-ga-gooing" all day long.

Here is a look of all our little ones ALL IN A ROW at the age of 6 months.  They are all so adorable, cute and chubby :)  It seemed so easy when they were little too.  We are grateful for each of them.  They are a blessing to our family.

So this is what I have been working on lately.

We have had a few babies born in our ward and I have been able to help out at the showers.  I made the party favor for my friend who had a baby girl.  Little Fabric Rosette's Clips that you can attach to hair, jewlery, clothing or anything.  here is the link
I just used my big scallop punch and stamped "thank you" on it, punch one hole in the middle and slid the rosette through and voila, c'est finis!

This is what I made for her sweet baby girl that she had.  Onsie, with 2 matching bibs and head band.
I got the birdie idea from here.
I got the pattern for the baby bib here.

Then two weeks later I got to make a Diaper Cake for another friends baby shower.  You can find them all over the web.  She is having a boy and there are not a lot of ideas out there but this is what I did for the boy baby diaper cake.

It was a lot of fun to make/build.  I used my big scallop punch again and went crazy with some stickers from Martha Stewart collection.
I had fun doing all this stuff and wish I had more time to do more stuff.  :)
