America's pledge of allegiance is so ironic because it makes so much sense that it does no justice to it!
As loyal as I am, I can't, for the love of my nation, recite the pledge that I've been saying for more than 10 years every morning at school. How sad is that? So a quick google search saved my soul.
Our Pledge
We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our nation.
I should probably pledge my allegiance to Google too. :)
Anyway,
i think the junta in burma functions in the most retarded, insensate and foolish fashion. doesn't matter which fits them, they are all cut out of the same brainless cloth. why the shit do they want to protect their people from the US aid team??? can they not understand that they're feeblemindedly perpetrating a genocide crime?
Although in the 21st century, still seems like some people has got their heads turned back to front.

Most new news are related to old news dated wwwaaaayyyy back in ancient times, right?
Just a sudden thought that i'm glad i chose history over geography at school.
The feeling of knowing '
it' is
grateful.
Like when i read about DalaiLama's involvement during Cultural Revolution... i'll go "hey i know what cultural revolution is!" or "bloody sunday! i've read about bloody sunday somewhere!"
Or if a movie portrays a crisis... my mind regresses... "i've studied the cuban missile crisis before!"
And for this, I feel happy.
I feel blessed.
I feel safe.
To the kids who can't even read, or blind at birth and deaf by conception, makes me wonder if education really is a right or privilege.
And for this, I'm definitely going to work harder to reach my goal.
Sometimes... such simplicity convey so much more meaning, doesn't it?
Because since when was war a part & parcel of life?
And for this, people reflect on this day.
Anzac Day.

My group seriously needs to relax. Is it an australian thing to rush to die or what?
My lecturer just put up a new case whereby discussion officially starts tomorrow but they've already started tonight!! I thought 'kiasu' was exclusive to singapore! No?
Volunteered @ Oxfam last weekend and it was definitely a whole new experience! I love this kind of rare opportunity where i get to do something really meaningful and worthwhile!
Some walkers asked how the heck am i able to stand their sweaty, smelly feet!
Really, it doesn't bother me as much as how their blisters bother me more. Jones (an authour)once said "a person entranced by a book simply forgets to breathe". Same principle here. Sometimes i get too focused during treatment that i just forget to breathe!
Everyone should just get over the notion of smelly feet... it's not the worst thing.

The empty bench is my bench with all my medical supplies beside me. :)
The one and only physiotherapist around... whose face i must not reveal.
After having looked at all those blown up blisters and muscle cramps and paramedics at work, i actually want to try walking the walk next year! Although i think i'll either need a paramed's assistance or the circumstances force me to pull out. :(
But my ideal team of 4 must consist of a paramed, physio, pod and motivational speaker, all of whom must be quite fit to walk 100km within 48hrs. hahaha!
I'll see how it all goes...

6am on the dot! (Yups, didn't sleep today!)
Ah!
Always make me feel so dam good when i finish an essay in one night.
4 more to go...
If only i can don't hang the wet clothes out later... cos i'm freezing to the bone!
Anyway, i'm feeling really stoked at the moment because of one email! *Ga ga ga*
Another happy thing... i get another free hour thanks to oh-my-lord daylight saving!

As much as China is facing a vehement conflict with the entire universe...
PLEASE DON'T BOYCOTT THE BEIJING OLYMPICS!

Give and Take.
What underpins the fundaments of mutual concession?
Does indignation blunder out inharmonic comments?
Why cannot the dissension be met halfway?
Is money doing all this peccancy?
In my honest opinion, a series of unfortunate events have happened.
I wanted to write the condensation of it... but this is the wrong place.

First week at uni obviously started off not without a hitch.
My workload mounded quite violently... felt as if i've trekked through gangsterdom. Literally, minus the crime.
But Life's like this - like it or lump it.
I've chosen to go with the flow.
You see, i'm in 3rd year but i still have 10 units to sit through!!!
*deep long groan*
All my pain and sorrow can only be expressed through groans now.
Pathetic.
And having to keep up with 3 separate timetables in one semester, i'm already assured
a few lectures will be missed.
tsk tsk.
Simple brain like mine cannot follow convoluted excel language, ie timetable. Plus! I've got 5 different clinics going on! Thinking about it... taste like bittergourd mixed with lemon. bleah.
Too complicated.
Must be afflicted with mental unsoundness should I be excited about school life now. Who said 3rd year was going to be the best?
BEST?! My foot ah! *pui*
I WANT MY HOLIDAY AGAIN! AGAIN!!! really miss all that fun.
Ooo... was at beach last week!
Didn't know this pic existed O.o Anyway, i should be enjoying myself much more! Like playing with water! Heh heh... what i love best!
Was at pulau ubin cycling last week too! Love the island! Last bit of singapore that's going to be commercialized.

Was supposed to head back for the CNY mass... but i don't know what happened.
So at long last (3 years to be exact!), i can now say i've been back to check out the new school! It was all very impromptu considering we were still chatting over Jamaican Jerk Pizza. But since school was accessible from orchard *thank god for bus 105* and voilà! - there we were, to the futuristic building which used to (and always will) suck out students' money!!
Grrr... my batch had to go through all four years of our secondary school life raising funds. And we don't even have the chance to be a part of it... bleah.
Managed to suss it out and fooled around a bit and tried to escape all the staff lurking around.
I guess at the end of the day, only you will understand and know what is most important.
ANYWAY!
Before i get too overly sobby and gushy about my memories of school...
* HAPPY * LUNAR * NEW * YEAR *
新年快乐!!!
A week before 除夕夜:
Biggest (more than 10 dishes!!) and best 'reunion dinner' ever! No photos cos too busy eating and yakking. Mouth must be kept full at all times!
During 除夕midnight:Subjected myself to pure delight in watching Sweeney Todd's cut-throat business! You really can't blame a man for looking sooo rippingly divine.
Initially the scenes were shocking and disgusting but it later became very comical. *thanks to bright red-coloured blood*You wouldn't think of watching such a movie on such an auspicious day, would you? Oh well... i did! :P
初一至初四:These 2 photos probably sum up how i spent my cny!
Eating!
Playing!!
Being such great enthusiasts of card games, we played hours and hours of dai dee, bridge and *drumrolls* 'HEART ATTACK'! The best part was of course we changed from shouting "heart attack" to "HUAT-AH"!

Just plain collecting $$$!!!

Heading down to River Ang Pao this friday for more fun!
Followed by cycling at pulau ubin (dam excited!) then fish farming this sat!
Hopefully 3rd uncle drops by at night or on sunday...
Oh and Happy Birthday to all! since it's supposedly 人日today?
Ok, shall see if my mother has miraculously whipped up 7 dishes since my sis and I didn't go market for 2 weeks straight! muahaha!
And as they say, the rest is history.

'I AM LEGEND' is a waste of time!
but not really cos i managed to steal a 15mins sleep. a terrible start to my cinematic year 08.
Neither frightful nor fearful. Pure dreadful.
to the point i'd rather watch teletubbies on repeat mode!! *shivers at the thought*
I know why i seemed to be the only person complaining so much about the tv shows these days. Because i have no cable!
Hence no cartoonnetwork! no animal planet! no HBO movies! no hongkong dramas!
Only those
meant-to-make-you-laugh-but-can't kind of lame shows like 'The Noose'! I can't even survive through their short clips! There's really no need to try so hard to put your audience through agony, you know?
Anyways, i realized i love hiking. much much!
But my legs always have these purple dots appearing when i'm back from it. I think it's those irate little protesters on my skin still unaccustomed to harsh, damp environments. But i found out that cold water rallies the situation! So always have a bottle of that cool liquid on hand!

My sister thinks we look like tourists in Japan. yeh?

When i'm not in the mood to write, i'm not in the mood to blog.
With my current of thoughts unhinged, my flux of words disturbed.
Where my fingertips don't flow, my phrases don't go.From New York to Colorado to Utah to Aspen.
Stop in at Colorado and Utah again before heading for LA and homeward bound to Singapore, en route Tokyo.

I don't know what else to call this kind of life besides
LIFE itself.
Something that
you do because you love it so dam much!!
My friend went Colorado to watch the winter games (freestyle competition) and imagine growing up all these years together to realize their neighbour is ranked top in the world! it's crazy!
Ok, right now...
i can't wait till 21st feb!
It could be the one chance that Singapore's going to host the inaugural youth olympics!!! Sorry Moscow, i love you but not this time! ;)
Anyway, my sister said i look and behave very much like '
L' from Death Note the movie. So i just had to watch it for myself.
And i tell you... after the movie,
I officially love L!hiack hiack hiack!
i'm going to eat more chocolates and cakes to become intelligent like him!!
i think cos we eat truckloads that's why my sis sees some similarities. who knows?

Good movie, got me all wound up at some point! Should be 25 times better than DaVinciCode! I love the "resolute table"! But i think the movie could've been more elaborate. Anyhowzzz... I wish it was a true story, but nonetheless, makes me wonder if the Book of Secrets really do exist.
My next "most anticipated movie of the year" would be TheKiteRunner, casted against the backdrop of Middle East. Read the book few months back. Its those kind of story where after you've finished the last page, you put the book down, say "wow" and begin to think. Then for the next few days, you wouldn't want to read anymore books. I'm like that when i come across a poignant storyline.

MY FOOT!!
*pui*
For all the glory and grandiosity in the SEA games, how can channel 5 tell viewers and fans that mediacorp will "exclusively" bring the games live to us when they cut soooooo many parts off ?!?!
6-8pm time slot is ridiculously short for a night full of events! just cut all that galling adverts dammit! thanks, but no thanks to the 1hr update special later at night cos i'd rather channel 5 use that air time to show something else... like a water polo game that could've been taped earlier!
But noooo... as we all know, channel 5 seems to be publicizing their station instead to plug ratings rather than actually broadcast a proper, full live event.
*cusses*

*points to cat and shout "POWERPUFF CAT"!!*
Anyway, i think the swimming events really wowed me. Not because they're fast and stuff, but because the times clocked show a walloping contrast to that of the olys!!
Even only some gold-medalist managed to reach the olympic qualifying time so it truthfully is unimaginable how fast they fly!!
And for that, i think i can sum up my favourite/best moments this year, which was when i got to witness the world's best swimming athletes at work.
cos that, seriously, is what i term
Art In Motion and i would not have wished for anything else at all.
even saying this now gives me the heebies-jeebies still, but all in a pleasant fashion!
For now, i guess it's time to give my support to pesky channel 5 again.
tsk.
why do we always round up at the place we dislike?
Ah! maybe channel U is good at this time... i think it's a korean show now.
EHHhh?! WhaT! AGAIN!?

Ooooohhhh Jolly ol' doodles! HAIL MY WEEKENDS!
I'm ready for the festive of eat and sleep!!
The decorations up at orchard road exudes some sort of comeliness at a glance but it's those pretty little garniture on christmas trees that really bags your attention! And i rest my case at tanglin road. Everyone HAS GOT TO check that place out!

Look at this! It's led based!
I doubt i'll be having The tree up this time round. grrrr....
Watching johnhoward address the liberal party supporters is like an audience in a prize-giving ceremony!
"I want to thank my sons, my wife, my chief executive, my dogs, my cats and most importantly, my mouse for all the support they've given me."
wahahahaha!
to me, i think the only reason he lost was due to his ardent support toward the usa.
*ah! a pity!*
but till now, im divided in my decision as to whose policies make a better country. their election is really hard to follow! and i want to hear kevinrudd's madarin!!
ok ok.
I didn't know the all new ang mo kio hub can be so gratifying!! beats toa payoh hub hands down! bought this new top which i loooooveee very very much! and the shoes? *wipes sweat* GORGEOUS!
these days or coming years, the customer service sector is brimming with teenagers and i can't say how cheap labour has become! that day when i was at a promo, i got to witness this barrage of verbal disapproval over the products and the sales reps. i wished transactions of all sorts could be settled with less agitation. it really isn't an easy task to be in a job where you got to please 202 different weirdos!
But like i said... weekends? it's different!
When the sun soars, i'm all about indulging in food hysteria... and when the moon hangs low, my body enters pacific coma. Such sheer serenity! Who can give you?!

These two can! HoHoHo!
ANYWAY, Come monday I got to hand in my clinical placement schedule. I can't decide which rural clinic to go to! gra! gra!
i really want to go adelaide, but no money...
YAH!
ooohhhh! the korean shows i diligently followed up in melbourne are now showing on channel U! and all the departmental stores are importing korean clothings. the people are beginning to dress like koreans too! are we experiencing a sudden gush of hallyu here or something? i wonder what we are really, cos there's so many culture and subculture integrated into this bantam island!

I have a pharmacology paper tomorrow, and I think I'm going to snatch forty winks out of my sixty minutes writing time.
REALLY!
cos right now i'm suffering from fatigue and by the end of this week, i'm going to get a physical breakdown.
i tried to log in to blogger 4 times and wondered why is my password wrong!
cos i typed in my school's account username instead.
i'm that tired.
all i can think of now is chilli crab!!

there's so much to talk about after this week!

Let’s journey retrospect once more, shall we?

Yeah, by retro I mean to bring you back to The Ice Age…
The Dark Ages…
The life in Middle Earth…
The B.C…
The A.D…
The millennium…
The year 2007…
The months from Aug-Oct…
C'mon! The Ice Age… who cares?!

Nothing is in chronological order. So if mid-autumn festival comes before winter… pretend that is the way it is!
My memory fails me sometimes. ☹
Went down to the city on Sunday to have some fun.
The worst nightmare in a race is when you get stuck in a detour and can't move on. The ultimate disaster is when you've gone through all that perplexity and derived at absolutely no answer. Well, this was exactly what happened at Melbourne's version of the 'Amazing Race'!! I don't know... but the race juxtaposes the fainéant nature of people and the horrible organisational network. I'm being very general here... just in case.

But i had fun! So all was good.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIS!
"Celebrated a twenty-first last week" (this is some kind of Australian phrase really!)

It's really special cos we made 20 fruit tarts, short of one.

Doesn't this look a little utopian? haha!
Anyway, a few weeks ago i was helping out at Melbourne Fringe Festival (just a tiny tiny part of the whole event).

It's where the health professionals come together and do something special to increase awareness on public health. Very meaningful event in my opinion... at least it was something which i contributed more than i received. :)

This scene was across our installation. Protesters marching ONLY A BLOCK! It's to do with the recent uproar in Burma.
But ONE block?!?!

All the odd things that make you go "WOW!" i'm positive he used a portable heater!!
Let's see.
Let's see.
Let's see.
From here on i really can't remember much already...
But celebrated another twenty-first last month and boy, was it painful! Play the self-torturous game of ‘PaintBall’ and figured the aim of it is downright pointless. Seriously!!! It's a fanstatic way to get bruised for 50 bucks!
Oh! Another bad event...
Attended the En Masse Dinner held in the school hall and by school hall I mean Big, Brown and Boring. I would rate it the worst formal dinner I ever had in my entire life. No joke. Nothing beats the IJ Graduation Night(s), seriously… from dusk till dawn.
Behind the scenes of the Dinner were initially shocking, soon it all became dreadful.
Look! I don’t even have much to comment about the night… that’s how plain it was! Food wise… merely passed. ☹
*shakes head and sighs*
I think these were the only more material-material stuff to blog about.
Been too busy catching up on revision!
The no-life life starts now!
I apologise for the disruption in the layout of the blog this week. I'll resize photos next month after exams! Maybe...
Finally!
Remember kids, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Did you know (DYK): Vitamin supplements have no effect against cancer and also decreases life expectancy? So what are we all popping pills for?!

promise there'll be something new this week! the worse is almost over and the worst is yet to come!

ok, now here's proof that i'm still around!!
in fact, the only 2 things i like about this photo are the coloured balloons. :P

This whole entry contains a lot of intermittent postings cos I can't seem to find a proper time to end it! I don't know why.
So what happened was I did blog in the past few weeks, like 1 sentence every few days? I just didn't "publish post".
Tsk... stupid or what?
The RSS Feed for blogs seems to lose its potency on Mac computers. The compressed files become really crabbed. But I think it's just Blogger. That's why I've been meaning to switch host many months ago!! (i bet i'm going to say this again man!)
But i've been rreeeaaaallllyyyy busy the whole month! Don't know what i've gotten myself into... but it's a nice juggle!
Work and exercise help to put studies off my mind cos i spend more time thinking about why am I not studying instead of actually getting on with it!
Plus, my colleagues give me an easy life and my boss haunts me day and night... so there I go, it's good balance! As a matter of fact, my boss calls me all day while i'm having class, clinics, breaks, in the toilet... all through till night when i'm in the toilet again!!!
Ooi! You cannot understand the meaning of text messaging is it?!?!
D'oh!
Anyhowsss...
Soccer tournament turned out to be a bit of a frenzy, but i felt really good to see that so many teams were in attendance!
So i was the score-keeper of the day! cos i was such an expert at time & score keeping already! MUAHAHAhaha!
Tsk... thick-skinned or what?
No, seriously! HA!
And when you're the score-keeper, everyone loves you!
So never be the referee, cos everyone's gonna hate you!
Well, and funny things ALWAYS happen during ball games.
When it comes to soccer though, you gotta feel for the males when they sometimes forget to defend using the correct parts of their body. Cos an open attack to the
sensitive region will hurt sssooooo baadd you're gonna cry for your mama to get a sex change done.
And each time i see the soccerball flying in
that direction, ouch! it makes me cringe...
Things don't help when you're the only female there doing important stuff and the mates go "How's the balls?"
"Want ice?"
o.0
Oh! Just shoot me for being so lazy to write about nicer and more detailed happenings!
Me life is really not that bad now... trust me!
I get to wake up early in the morning and drag meself to school, feeling doped during lectures and brave the cold wind walking home.
There is no sarcasm in that previous sentence, believe me!
But the above sentence does feel kind of sacarstic.
hur hur...

Sam and Philene had me tagged a long long time ago to play this game so since I'm half bedridden now, thought this might be the perfect time! I
am was having a viral infection and all these other symptoms, hence the bedridden part.
Rules of the game : **Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. **People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. **At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks!
1. I like to - eat. all the time!
2. I am allowed - to hold my breath underwater for quite a long while.
3. My favourite part of my body is - lower limbs. they start the motor and give the extra kick!
4. If i could fix one part of my human body - nothing at all. delusion is itself a form of plastic surgery.
5. I hate - the pink powdered medicine. PINK?!?! it's for fever... not the antibiotics one.
6. If I could date a female celebrity, I would date - Laure Manaudou
7. If i could date a male celebrity, it’s - Ryk Neethling
8. I’m attracted to - good food. :P
9. I hate it - when the weather forecast cannot do its job properly.
10. I prefer to sleep - eat and play.
And the game ends here on my part.
Cos i got to head to school now!
Late again!

Today I’m just going to write about me and myself alone in a very one person outlook. I realized my entries revolve too much around sardonic restrained wraths such that I’m becoming a blog-adaptable person already. *shudders*
Now I’m using the library’s computer owing to my faulty laptop charger.
And behind me there’s this girl screaming her mid-year marks that ranges from 52-59 with an exception of 77 and she said that’s a high distinction!! Where the heck did she get that from??
Recently I’m suffering from unknown transient insomnia. I didn’t have caffeine after 9am, took no afternoon nap, and haven’t had tea for dinner. I’m behaving like a bundle of nerves and my sister thinks I had too long an idle break but it’s just me bring fidgety. Can’t believe the re-opening of school can still give me the jitters.
My discipline level has either just gone down or just died off. Gah! I miss training sooo much! Except my coach is quite a pervert and enjoys mollycoddling with my swim board. That pisses me off.
But what makes me mad is that the swimming pool at my uni’s sports centre is not even conducive for leisure purposes! That is by far the filthiest and schlockiest water quality I’ve ever swam in. We pay so much for usage I cannot understand why can’t they just construct an Olympic size pool?! Oh, and use less of that chlorinated water too! It takes about 3 washes for the smell to be rid of!!
Anyway my first week at uni has been fluid in terms of workload. But top story is that I met my IJ junior in the school’s bookshop. And the highlight is that she appears to be my junior once more! It’s cook when people you meet ever and again pops up without you realizing and suddenly have so much to yak about! In fact, back in IJ I rarely speak more than 100 words to her each time. That’s awfully sad I know.
And my lecturer is being such a poop by uploading the manual online and making us slog our seconds of life away printing a freakin’ 72 pages!! What
a goose!
Other than these, I’ve taken up a new interest in Chinese Acupuncture! HAHAHA!! Actually I’ve been interested for quite a while now, but only recently got down to business about it. All I need now is a Chi-Eng dictionary! I should think that one of my upcoming lectures will be on trigger-point therapy actually! Besides, electromagnetic/electrotherapy lectures are sooo mind-numbing…
I would love to upload some photos if I had been using my own laptop to type this... but hail the good lord, I’m in the library instead!!
Well, Cheers to the approaching end of my sophomore year!! In about 4 more months… :)
Reminder to self: approx a month more before the next lunar (or was it solar?) eclipse!
