Randomness

First Annual Trick or Treat Trot was a success! Fundraiser for the Child and Family Support Center. Participants dressed up and raced and played lots of fun carnival games.
Kids ran Monster Dashes.

We set a goal to read the scriptures together every night as a family. We set the goal in September and are still going strong :). What a blessing it has been for our family. Ty asked me the other day how long we had to do this for. I said forever. :)))) We tried first with real scriptures and quickly resorted back to the picture books. Brooke can read really well now and takes turns reading. I can follow along much better with the pictures too.

This is what I did on my Birthday. Ty took the kids and I got free time to finish my peaches. My sister Dani took me to the late show that night to see Eclipse. It was the best birthday!
My friends took me out the day before and I came home to all these wonderful streamers throughout the house. I do mean throughout! They were so proud.
Gotta love em.
Brooke and Kylie getting all psyched up for the half-time performance.
My sister Jeni and Derek let us watch their darling kids Bria and Erik while they spent the weekend in Park City. She is pregnant and desperately needed her last get away! We had a blast!
Boston with his normal smiling face. What a sweetie.
Pizza at the park. Erik who is 2 has no fear. He was going down the largest slide at the park before we could get the blankets out. Erik called me Mom the whole time he was here. He later was at my parents house and saw a picture of me and pointed to it and said Mom. So funny. He called me Mom again at Christmas.
Webkinz never looked so fun!
Ha ha! Dani about to run across the football field with my girls...It was the same day as the marathon and I couldn't run....:)
Our favorite past-time! Aggie games, or meets, or matches.

TOU marathon

I got a phone call from my brother Ryan saying he was going to run the TOU marathon. I got a wild hair and decided I would "try" to run it with him...at least ride the bus up with him. Boston was about a month old. I hadn't run for 4 months, so I knew it would be interesting to say the least. I waited my 6 weeks and jumped right in. I couldn't run a mile on my first run, but quickly built up the mileage. I went from 8 miles on my long run to 12 to 14 and eventually 20. I had about 8 weeks to train. I was shocked at how quickly my endurance built up. I was slow but steady! My good friend Maika ran my 20 milers with me which made it so much better. I finished in 3:51 which was a new PW for me, but I felt great!
I had no time goals at all, I just wanted to have fun. It turned out to be a blast thanks to Paige and Kristy who I ran with the whole time. We took our time and chit-chatted the whole way. It was the most fun I have ever had in a marathon.
My bother was a super-star in his first ever marathon. He was rearing and ready to go the first mile and I knew I couldn't run with him! He ran awesome. It was so much fun to have him here and to ride the bus up with him and wait in the porta-pot lines and be nervous together. We had a great cheering squad as well.
The annual TOU family shot. Brooke 7, Kylie 5, Jace 3, and Boston 3 months.

First Day of School!

Brooke was super nervous for her first day thinking that the kids would all be bigger than her because it was an older grade. She was excited to see the same familiar faces in her class and loved her first day. She reported the bus (which we own) was super hot and the driver kept running over the curb.
Jace was so excited for pre-school he couldn't hardly stand it....when I dropped him off, he was still excited until one little boy started to cry...then another...then another...pretty soon they were all crying!!! It was so funny.
The next time he went to school, he took the camera in his backpack and whipped it out and took a picture of his teacher. No warning for anyone....I love this!
Kylie loves ANYTHING social so she naturally loves her preschool. She had her outfit picked out weeks in advance...

Pierced Ears!

Kylie's 5th Birthday

Kylie turned 5. She is a proud 5 year old! We had oatmeal for breakfast, then hit the Fun Park. Mom, Dad and Kylie went to dinner at A&W, and then went swimming for our special night. We later had Grandma and Grandpa Burton over for cake and icecream.
Princess parties are the only way to go.
Grandma Karie with her one-eyed dog Popeye who might as well be a child.
Kylie with her gift from Grandma Ju-Ju that just came in the mail.
Kylie was surprised to say the least with her new specialized bike. She graduated from the tiny bike and the bike with no seat :).
New Bike again. Ty made sure it wasn't too girly.
Getting ready to swim at the Sports Academy.

Kylie thought it was hysterical how her rootbeer was foaming out of the hole on her float and wanted me to take her picture.
A&W date. BEFORE swimming. She had her whole day planned out for days!
Grandma Pat and Grandpa Grunt missed her actual b-day so they brought her gift early.

Brooke's 7th Birthday

Brooke's 7. I can't believe it. We had a wonderful day. She got her ears pierced first of all. We went to the Fun Park and Jace hit the jackpot and won 1000 tickets on one game. We ended up with 1600 tickets and got some awesome prizes. We went on a hike with just Mom, Dad, and Brooke and then had a surprise party at Grandma and Grandpa Mike's house.
Decor courtesy of Hannah Montana.
Grandma, Jace and Kylie decorated when we were gone and surprised us! Kylie yelled surprise when the door opened instead of when we got in the room, but Brooke was still excited :).
Brooke and I walked in this sick, stinky water on the "hike".
We ended up hiking on this hillside because there were no trails like we thought. The church camp wouldn't let us in. Brooke still loved it!
Subway was her food of choice.

Getting her ears pierced. Of course she didn't cry. She quit crying for shots when she was 2.

Gotta love em!

Jace with his "undies on his head." He came out of his room singing "undies on my head" to the tune of "pants on the ground." He is wearing his tie that he refused to go to church without wearing...until Tux chewed it up :(.

I found him outside roasting marshmallows...

I have about a billion pics of random things around the house with these little toes on the bottom.

He's getting big!

I know babies are supposed to get big, but I wish they could stay little. I am loving having Boston in our family. He is such a good baby and so easy going. I posted a few of my favorite pics from this load of pictures.

My Dad holding Boston.

Ty holding him in his lap on the boppy...watching sports center.

The Cabin

These pics got out of order...so pretend the first four pics are at the bottom! Here's Boston loving his first campfire...obviously.
Grandma Carolyn on rock patrol, Erik, Dan-Dan, Bria and Kylie.

Aunt Jeni with Boston. Nobody makes my kids smile and laugh like my sister Jeni. She has a way with kids.

My Dad "trying" to fix something like usual. :)

One of my favorite places on earth is our cabin in the Uintas. We love the great outdoors.

The kids and the family went on a hike. I had to stay back with Boston, but they found this beautiful little lake. Brooke, Kylie, Jace, Alyssa, Kaylie and Bria.

Grandma Carolyn holding Boston in the cabin when the rain forced us inside.

Aunt Emi doing story time. Only Emi would think to do that!

Our annual night walk...I remember being little and being so scared on the night walk. My dad once thought he saw some kind of animal and wanted to go see it. We didn't want to go, so he said wait here and ran off with the light. We were left standing alone in the dark!

Night walk. Jace refused to walk.

Looking at fish on the night walk. Its weird how well you can see the fish at night with a flashlight.

Kylie and Boston. Boston loved the mountains.

My dad could catch a fish anywhere, anytime. He's so good he could catch a fish even if there were no fish. He taught me to fish when I was tiny and I still love it. He would have me crawling up to fishing holes on my belly. Let me clarify. I love to catch the fish and release them. I don't do worms anymore or take fish off hooks. I just catch them. I am dang good too.

Brooke and Boston.

No this isn't a pretend picture, and yes, Aunt Dani is a great babysitter.
Nothing better than this.

Kids before our hike. I drove the 4-wheeler to this point. I was proud of myself.

Chillin in the trailer our awesome cousins let us take.

Boston. Such a sweetie. Did awesome on his first camping trip.

I love this bridge. You can always catch a fish here. Love the look on Kylie's face....

"The Bridge" in the background.

Classic smiles. Especially from Jace.

We always bring water shoes to walk in the river. Its stinkin cold!

Painting rocks with watercolor. Something we have done since we were little kids. Its funny how things never change and thats what I love about the cabin. :)

There it is! The cabin. Its little and old and quaint. I would never sleep in it, but I love it.
