WIP Sedition Wars Up date 3

Dear Archivists!

It is time for another Sedition Wars up date. If eveything goes smoothly, I will have my first game tomorrow. Since I only play with painted stuff, I will have to paint the follwing minis quite fast. Well... that's the hard life of a nerd ;P

As promised, here are the next two exo-forms, the quasimodos (wierd word,´if you ask me...)

Enjoy :D

WIP Sedition Wars Up date 2

Dear Archivists!
What a blast the last couple of days have been. Atleast when it comes to activity here on this young blog. I hope you like what I have brought forward so far.

Today, I want to show you more Sedition Wars stuff.
On the one side, we have some WIP shots of the Vanguard Headswaps I did and on the other we have some strain conversions. I hope you like them :D

First of we have a Vanguard lady with a changed head position and a new hair cut... fairly easy conversion, yet effective.

Next we have some more hairdressers work.

Finally, I wanted the Reaver to have a helmet. But for that, I needed someone to lose her helmet and find a good replacement. I had a copped up Trxxis from Hasslefree lying around, which was perfect for the job...

And now... some Strain-madness. After I did the "masses" of Necroforms, I decided to spend a little more time with the next bunch of Necroforms. I came up with the Leadsinger from Rammstein and the Bubble-Dude. And here they are:

Next up we have some Stalker-Exoforms. In the game, they can be mutated in the Witch. Wierdly the slaker is quite masculin while the witch is way more femine. On the Seditions Wars forum a member sculpted the stalkers some more "obvious" connections to the Witch and I really liked that idea. So I stole it. Here is my attempt:

So, I hope you enjoyed this little ride into the wondeful world of Greenstuff. If you liked it or if you didn't, leave a comment. And become a member! Now! :D

Next up... some Quasimodos :)

Inspirational Coil 1

Greetings, Archivists!

Welcome to a new section, the "Inspirational Coil". The topic already suggests what this is about: Stuff that I find highly inspirational. I know there is lots and lots of stuff out there, but I will try to show you stuff that somehow moves me. Like the following video.
More by accident I stumbled over it. And I have watched it over and over again, marveling at all the aspects a good video is made of.

I hope you find it as tasty as I did.

How-To Archive Up Date 1

Dear Archivists,
double post, I would say. Well, when I have the time I shall use it right?

I installed a "How-To" Archive. I will feed it with the existing tutorials I have already done over the years. But if you have any recommendation or questions for upcoming Tutorials, please let me know!

First How-To is the cracked earth on my demons bases.

Enjoy!

Misc Archive Up date 1 Chaos Demons

Greetings, Archivists!

With the new Chaos Demon Codex coming up, I thought I should add the Demons I did a while ago.
Let it be said, that if you have any interest in possessing single units or more please contact me.

One of the "new" Chaos Demons
So, if you have a look at my other chaotic activities, you will see, that I have a thing for Slaanesh. Why that is would probably reach deep into my psychology, so I will spare you that visit in my psyche. What I can say is, that I am no big fan of the current demon miniatures. The old metal demonetts (not the old old masculine crab claw ones...) I really liked. They were convincing sirens, as were the other demons. I think there are enough good examples out there how a distrubing demon concept can be done. But the one boobed, explosive-hair demonetts simply don't thrill me.
With the demon army I did, I tried to get closer to what I thought demons should look like and the theme I tried to implement on these miniatures was quite simple. I wanted to have the aspect of sensual experience up front.
So what senses do we have?
Hearing... demons with big ears? Nope...
Smelling? Big noses everywhere? Ehm... nope...
Taste? Long tounges... okay.
Touch? Lots of flesh exposed to be touched either by blade or claw or whip... yes.
Seeing? Seeing how you enemys twist at your feet in pain? YES!

Following this directive, I tried to imprint every single unit with somewhat of a theme. But Judge for youself it that has worked...

My first completly sculpted miniature:

Well, I hope you enjoyed them. And, as said, they are for sale. As a matter of fact, the Bloodletters and the Fiends of Slaanesh are already gone.

WIP Sedition Wars Update 1

Dear Archivists,
when I take a look at the world news these days, I feel a little like in the opener to a Zombie-survival-horror movie. Stuff from space falling to earth? Dissapearing in the ice?
Is this the place where soon mutation and chaos will spread from?

Talking about Zombies... it is time that I show you my recent work on the "zombies" from Sedition Wars.
I really love all their sculpts. But I am no big fan of having a bunch of clone-zombies running through my ship. So I used the hot-water-trick, Mike McVey recommended to get bend parts to fit, some cables (bass guitar wire is imho the best choice) and GS to get some variation into my Necro-Forms.

Last weekend I had some time on my hands and gave them all a slap of paint. Sadly, as mentioned, my camera reduced the colours to a rather red smear, but I hope you get the idea.

But the Necro-Form where not the only ones I got finished. Some Samaritans got some paint aswell.
First of I tried the paint-scheme on a Hasslefree Mini, which fits quite nicely in design and size. I guess she will be a pilot or something like that.

I wanted to have them bright (my normal choice of colour for armour is rather dark) but not the white Studio McVey used. Not that I don't like that, but it reminds me somewhat of Storm Troopers and  on top of that, white can sometimes be a real pain to paint. Especially when i think of vehicles or larger areas.
At first, I thought a bright blue might be a good idea, but then I remembered my rather reserved relationship to ultramarines. Following this lead of thought I decided against all the other bright colours that sprang into my mind (I was toying with yellow or orange at some point...)

So here is the first squad.

I will post WIP-Shots on the Vanguard (showing the headswaps) later on.

Happy Zombie-Hunting everyone

All Hail the Hive Queen

Dear Archivists,

it's been a good while, since I hwas comissioned with a very special task. Hellric, a member on Warpshadow, has this thing for cthulhu. Well... who is into nids and not in Lovecraft?!

Anyhow, Hellrics thing is to do niddy conversions... in a cthulhu way and calls them Hive Queens and the like. At some point he started to comission people to expand his ever growing collection of Hive Queens.
This is where I come into play. I was one of the lucky guys, being tasked with a conversion.

I tell you all this, because Hellric has finaly come around to paint the Queen and I wanted to share with you this event.
So, head over to his Blog and enjoy the madness.
If you want to see some WIP-Shots I did during the process, check out this album

Archive MWR Update 1

Dear Archivists,
it is up date time again. And it is an HQ update again with a Fokus on the Mantis Warriors Renegades.

In the good old days of the third Edition Chaos took my heart. To be more precise, Slaanesh took my heart. I fell in lve with the demonette gilrs on sight an know, that I had to have an army where i could field them. My first Chaos Space Marine Army was born. And I probably don't have to mention that it was pure Slaanesh. The specialty of this army was the fact, that for the first time, I had the money, time and interest for the conversion of  models. Looking backwards that was a time of the early Fabius Bile... experimentation and madness. And I talked to everyone who could teach me anything.

Several year and lots of tyranids later, the new Chaos Codex caught my eye. At first I had trouble with the Image of genetical alterted, psycho-indoctrinated Space Marines abadoning their oaths and turning theirself against the Imperium. But with the input the Horus Heresy Books gave me, i gained a new sight on Space Marines. It becomes pretty clear, that the Chapter they belong to stands before the Imperium. I combined that with the Aftermath of the Badab War and... tadaa... the background for my Mantis Warriors was done. What brings an Space Marine over the edge? Destroying his Homeworld and his Geneseed might work.
At least it did for me.

So my Mantis Warriors said good bye to the Emperor and set their sails to find Fabius Bile (a character I really love... you will see...). He shall replace the lost Geneseed and help the Chapter to survive.

On top of this search stands the first model I did for the Army. A Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour.
His left side showing the old colorscheme. The right side honors his new alliance.

The first Apocalypse game, I took part in, demanded for something special. So more in a rush than with pleasure, I created Lucius the Eternal . Until today I have no love for the actual model. And at some point I will give him a propely fitting model.

The Dark Apothecary was part of a campaign a couple of friends and me organised. Focus of that campaign was to find Fabius Bile. Secret Agents had reported that he was returning to one of his "test" worlds and a couple of armies went on the journey to find him. For various reasons. On some point I will show you some pictures of that campaign. To actually find he, you needed a special character, an Apothecary. His task was to interogate who ever he found about the whereabouts of Fabius Bile.

That's it for now. Upcoming next is "Sedition Wars"
