New Hampshire

The kids and I flew to New Hampshire last Tuesday.  Scott was flying to Atlanta for work that morning, so we all went to the airport together (at 4am!).  And a youth mission trip from our church was headed to Mexico that morning, so we saw lots of faces we knew at the airport!
When we arrived in Boston, we went to the Children's Museum.  It's not as big as Indianapolis, but I thought it was very engaging and fun.  We were happily busy for hours.

On Wednesday we went blueberry picking.  The bushes are so full, we easily picked almost 6 pounds in half an hour.

Of course, we also spent plenty of time in the water - boating, swimming, throwing rocks, etc.

that face! ha!

Thursday we went to the beach.  The kids tried boogie boards for the first time, and it was a hit.

Friday afternoon, Eric, Meredith, and the girls arrived.  We love our cousins!  Scott flew in around midnight.

My parents bought a pair of trainer skis to help the kids learn.  I don't have any pictures of it, but Micah got up twice.
we had him start in the shallow water, so we could help him get going

Lucy got up, too, but I was too busy clapping to take a picture.  :)

Sunday afternoon all eleven of us went to Prescott Park to see Mary Poppins.  I have many fun memories of seeing shows at this outdoor community theater when I was a kid.  I'm sure there are pictures of Eric and I climbing on this same whale.

On Tuesday, Scott and the kids flew back to Ohio, but I stayed behind for an extra day.  Our dear friend Sue Adler was getting married!  I'm so glad I got to stay and witness her special day.

Other Summer Fun

Earlier in the summer I watched the Oyster kids for a few hours, so we went to one of my favorite parks.

Hannah loves playing with McKinley and mothering her.

On the actual day of Matthew's birthday, he requested a pirate cake.  I obliged.

While the big kids were at Grandparent Camp, Matthew and I helped out at Summer XP one day.   Well, I helped.  Matthew clung to my legs for 2.5 hours before finally letting go to play with Emma.

When you have to get shots at your check-up, Mommy might buy you a doughnut.

On July 3rd we went to a cookout and fireworks show like we did last year.  Then on the 4th we went to the parade in the morning, followed by another cookout and swimming in the afternoon.  The whole weekend was filled with great people and lots of fun.  Our little community makes my heart happy.

I think we've gotten at least 3 years out of this outfit!

Matthew still doesn't like the sirens.

During one of Hannah's camp days, the boys and I went to the theater to see "Cars 3".  It was Matthew's first time in a movie theater!
