Walnut Creek Farm

Hannah had another field trip yesterday.  We were supposed to have thunderstorms, and they considered canceling.  But it ended up being a beautiful day!  They saw a ton of animals.  Hannah came home sunburned, happy, and tired. [Most of these pictures were taken by Courtney Ucker.]

Hannah said the piggies were her favorite.

Wednesday night was Chayil graduation.  Hannah received another jewel on her bracelet from last year for completing her homework this year as a "King's Daughter".

Indiana and Miscellaneous

The weekend before last we took a trip to Indiana to visit Nana and Papa.

The new exhibit at the children's museum was about the circus.

Our kids do not generally sleep in the car, so you know he must have been really tired!

The theme for the all-school-unit this year was Heroes from the Bible.

Hannah and her friend Taylor are in the center.
Both McKinley and Lacy were over one day, so we made cookies together.
We have had a LOT of rain this winter and spring, making our yard pretty swampy.  I've had to do a few extra loads of laundry.  :)

Easter

For our first Easter in our new home, we decided to continue our tradition of hosting a neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  We had a beautiful day and a great turn-out!  The kids had a lot of fun, and the adults enjoyed chatting and getting to know each other.
Micah and Hannah did most of the work to stuff about 450 eggs!

We had the little kids hunt in the front yard...
...and the big kids in the back. (14 kids in all)

This morning we celebrated the resurrection with our church, then had a family brunch at Bob Evans.

Field Trip with Micah

The third and fourth grade classes went on a field trip to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  They learned about how the canal and towpath were built and about life and trade during that time.  They even got to help open and close the gates of a working lock to see how the water levels would rise and fall.  (There are 44 locks on the Ohio Erie Canal that runs from Akron to Cleveland, in case you were wondering.)
