Columbus Zoo Trip

As we've done for the past two years, we did a mini family vacation this weekend.  We picked Scott up from work a little early and drove to Columbus.  We spent the night at a hotel (swimming and breakfast are always a big hit) then went to the zoo.  The last time we were there, it was crazy hot, so we appreciated that it was just normal hot this time.  :)
sleeping at the hotel.  thankfully Matthew still fits in a pack-n-play.

Neither kid was big enough to ride alone on the log ride, so Daddy got soaked twice.

July so far

Last summer was so cold and rainy that we've been extra appreciative of all the hot sunny days this summer.
he loves to ride his "motorcycle"

now Hannah can climb the walls, too

The big kids and I started the 4th off with a pool party at the Kuznicki's.  We stopped home to change and get Daddy and Matthew, then headed to another friend's house (actually their parents' house) for a cookout and fireworks.  Matthew lasted until 8:30, then Scott took him home.  The big kids and I stayed for fireworks, then spent the night in the tent in their backyard.  Our gracious hosts had breakfast and coffee for us in the morning.  Scott and Matthew returned to help us pack up, then straight to the parade!  That's about as much fun as you can pack into 24 hours.  It took the kids 3 days to recover.  :)
Apparently this is Matthew's new picture face.

Matthew waved the whole parade.

Hannah passed out on the living room floor shortly after we got home.

Micah went to day camp at Camp Carl again and had a blast.  He got to sleep over one night, which I think will give him the confidence to do overnight camp next year.

Some of my favorite days of summer are when we have no real plans, like today.
