My baby is not a baby anymore. The reality began to set in for me a few weeks ago when he was promoted out of the nursery at church. He is moving on and growing up, which means he may not be a baby, but he is a lot of other things.
Matthew is..
- loud. His speaking voice is a yell.
- loving. He is generous with his hugs and kisses.
- polite. Without prompting he regularly says "yes, please" and "t'anks, Mommy".
- athletic. He runs, jumps, and climbs with kids much bigger than him.
- funny. Sometimes accidentally, sometimes intentionally - he loves to get a laugh.
- adventurous. He can be a little too brave for his own good.
- mischievous. Oh, the trouble this kid finds! I can barely keep up!
Some of his favorite things include...
- playing outside, especially swinging, playing with balls, and trying to ride bikes.
- cereal
- milk
- Dora (We try to pretend it's not true, but he
loves Dora.)
- dogs
- swimming
- sweets
- accessories, especially hats and sunglasses
His talking is pretty understandable, but he still has many words that require a Matthew-to-English dictionary. For example:
Pita = Micah
Sonny = Jackson
Sartar = Carter
sock = sock or snack
wawa = water or waffle
dog = dog or duck
gook = fork or spoon
hop-pop = lollipop (which he loves to sneak out of the pantry)
taaaaay = trade

| Happy Birthday, Matthew! |
P.S. Just in time, I now have a new baby to cuddle! Carter and Jackson have a new baby....SISTER!! McKinley Grace was born almost a week ago, and as you can see she is perfectly beautiful.
