An encounter with WM.

I took the wrong bus the other day. Apparently, there are two service routes for the same bus service number. I took the one that goes directly to the woodlands checkpoint by mistake. I am not sure whether I should be thankful that we have such tight security at our custom, or otherwise. I wasn't allow to make a u-turn back to the woodlands center. They have a security officer guarding the exit to the woodlands center. I was told to report to the custom office so that they can escort me out of the place.

To my surprise, I saw a very, very familiar face in the office. He is my JC classmate!!! WM!!! Hahaha... I wasn't very sure if the person was him as he was dressed in the custom officer uniform and I had not seen him for quite some time. It was a pity that I did not speak to him there and then as he was busy attending to another person (who might be trapped at the custom like me). He seemed pissed and walked off to attend to some paper work. I was attended by another custom officer who escorted me out of the place after taking down my NRIC no.

It was nice knowing how WM is doing after graduation. : )

Changes.

I miss those days when I had lunch with 15 colleagues. I miss those days when we could sit down and talk to one another in the pantry during break time. I miss those days when we just sit in the conference room and laugh at some jokes from the trainer. Things have changed. Now, I can hardly find someone to have lunch with since we are all split into different shifts and people in the same shift cannot go to lunch together as there must be someone around always. I can no longer have my proper lunch as I will spend my time eating in front of the computer as there are like so many idiot things to do!!!

Sounds bite.

My mom helps my neighbour to look after their kid sometimes in the evening as the parents were on shift and no one would be at home during that time. It happens that the kid likes to watch cartoon and my mom likes to watch the taiwanese drama "爱". Every weekend, I will hear my mom and the kid fighting over the channels. And my mom would often use the same statement to convince the kid to let her watch her fave show," Cartoon 没有了啦。。。现在做爱了!"

It sounds wrong, isn't it?

A tell-tale sign.

I was reviewing my pictures in facebook and when I came across this picture, it suddenly occurred to me that the bull has a tell-tale sign of where my first job would be.

The bull seems to be telling me that I would land myself in M-elle. My boss bought us a large bottle of jelly beans to keep us awake during our training. Is it too much a coincident?

The above picture was taken during my grad trip in UK when I was perfectly clueless of my first job. Now, it makes sense. 原来冥冥中有安排。。。

CSS.

Many people think that my secondary school is a medicore neighbourhood school. I get kind of disturbed by my tutee's mother.

Tutee's mother to tutee: Guobin is from serangoon secondary school, ask him how he get all A1s.
Me: I am not from serangoon secondary school.
Tutee to mother: He must be from RI.
Me: No, I am not from RI. I am from commonewealth secondary school.
Tutee's mother to tutee: Commonwealth sec. Ask him how he gets all Aces.
Me: .......

First of all, I did not get all Aces. And why did she make it sound like people from CSS who gets all Aces are amazing??? My school has a number of straight aces (at least from my batch), fyi. AND, you don't need to be from RI to get all aces. Also, it does not imply that all RI students get all aces.

I love and hate the way people have the perception of my sec school. Many people think that it is just any other neighbourhood school. But in actual fact, it is an autonomous school which most of us loves. I like the way how people are oblivious of its presence but those who know it are well aware that it is more than a neighbourhood school. That's the CSS, I love.

PS: It was ranked #21 last year. source: http://www.scribd.com/doc/7759351/Ranking-of-Secondary-Schools

Randomness

1. I am touched with my own design work when I visited my friend's stalls just now. It wasn't like 100% professionally perfect, but I thought it was already an awesome start. There is always room for improvement.

2. I require additional concentration while listening to the speech of an ang moh. I get worn out after 30 mins because I have been concentrating too hard. I wish they have subtitles.

3. Like 忠孝东路走九遍, I walked up and down more than 9 times that day. For tea breaks and more tea breaks.

4. The trainer tried to smog his way again today. He went through the chapters so quickly and left everyone with question marks. When I asked him to summarize the difference between 2 technical stuff, he said.... "let me think how to explain to you". He spend the rest of the time searching for the answers. He reminded me of myself when I couldn't solve a question on the spot during tuition.

5. I think my boss is really nice. And I so want to call him DADDY! I hope he stays as nice as I stay in M-elle!

6. This ML girl in my team is being ostracized. She is just too temperamental. She raised her voice at a trainer the other day. I find it hard to understand her. She tries very hard to prove herself. I think staying away from her is the safest.

7. We spice up our training with food and sweets. You could see peanuts, sweets, jelly beans, chips and wang wang being passed around every now and then. We offer the trainer sometimes when we were caught in the act. We even thought of getting popcorns to be passed around.

8. Since our arrival in M-elle, the coffee machine always runs out of coffee powder.

9. My colleagues and I will write on paper, type on notepad and userid bar to communicate during lessons. Our content usually revolves around where to for lunch, bitching about the trainer, and gossips.

10. I always threaten to draw a mouth on Ms Hongkong's hello kitty pouch when she starts to disturb me with her kitty, or otherwise known as pussy.

My love will get you home.

If you wander off too far, my love will get you home.
If you follow the wrong star, my love will get you home.
If you ever find yourself, lost and all alone,
get back on your feet and think of me, my love will get you home.
Boy, my love will get you home.

If the bright lights blinds your eyes, my love will get you home.
If your troubles break your stride, my love will get you home.
If you ever find yourself, lost and all alone,
get back on your feet and think of me, my love will get you home.
Boy, my love will get you home.

If you ever feel ashamed, my love will get you home.
When there’s only you to blame, my love will get you home.
If you ever find yourself, lost and all alone,
get back on your feet and think of me, my love will get you home.
Boy, my love will get you home.

If you ever find yourself, lost and all alone,
get back on your feet and think of me, my love will get you home.
Boy, my love will get you home,
Boy, my love will get you home.

Randomness

I haven't blogged for a bloody long time and I don't know where to start from. Hence, by convention, I will do it the random way. It's always easy to do that!

1. Do not quarrel with your mom when you are catching 糖心风暴. It makes you angrier.

2. If I ever get sick with my job and want to call it quit, I think I will go get a tour guide license. I think I have the passion for it.

3. It was nice showing my trainer, who is from India, around Singapore today. As a matter of fact, he was so glad that my colleagues and I have done so. He expressed how bored he was touring around himself for the past 2 weeks.

4. Like Singapore, there are priority seats on the buses in India. But they are reserved for women!

5. With the experience of organizing foreign students' camps, I was able to introduce Chinatown and Singapore to my trainer in the way the tour guide did.

6. I had my very first Indian Vegetarian food today at a decent Indian Restaurant. I like some dishes and dislike some. It was a pay-the-amount-you-like style.

7. My colleague is Ms Hongkong. She does not look a bit like a mother with a 2 yr old kid.

8. My boss fits my vision of a good boss, thus far. He empowers, encourages and motivates. He has the charisma too. I hope he stays that way.

9. I haven't run for two weeks. I need to tonight.

10. My Indian trainer thought the No durian sign on the NEL trains are explosive! And he was wondering why they even need to put up NO EXPLOSIVE sign. Isn't that understood? Worse, NO EXPLOSIVE does not warrant a fine!

Support the Lions!

It upsets me when Singaporeans are supporting the other team on home ground. Can't Singaporeans give their support to their own people? When will the Lions shine?
