The Island

Kauai is geographically the oldest island of the Main Hawaiian islands. Holo Holo Koloa Scenic Byway, this state designated scenic byway runs over 19 miles and connects many of Kauai's most historical and cultural sights such as the Maluhia Road (Tree Tunnel), Puhi (Spouting Horn), The National Tropical Botanical Gardens, and the Salt Beds. Anywhere we drove we were able to see the ocean from our vehicle! Absolutely beautiful.

Spring Break March 2013

We began our journey to Kauai at 4 o'clock in the morning. Who in the world made those plane reservations (not the girls ) It was a 18 hour flight. When we finally landed in paradise it was lunch time and we were all very hungry. We stopped at Bubba Burgers and a beach on our way to the condo. The drive to our condo was breath taking! This was a dream vacation come true. We had been planning to take this vacation with our good friends Moises and Jessica for a couple of years.

Meet the newest member of our family! My sweet baby nephew, Mitchell Anton Rupanovic was born on February 8 2013. My sister-in-love and brother -in-love flew to Florida the day after he was born to pick him up from the hospital. It was a crazy first couple of weeks for this little guy. They could not leave the sate of Fl because of  various legal paper work each state had to sign off on. So the new mommy, daddy and baby stayed in a extended stay hotel for a few weeks. They were so happy the day they got the call they were clear to go home. Michelle came here in March to help mom while we were in Hawaii. She extended her stay a few extra days so that we could spend time getting to know our nephew! He is so precious in every way. He is a blessing from heaven above. God heard our fervent prayers and answered them in His perfect timing! We are so thankful he is apart of our family. What joy it is to finally be able to  watch my sista  be a mommy! And have the family she has dreamed of for so long! We love you little Monkey!

Caroline is ONE!

Oh my stars! I can not believe our precious cupcake is already one. She "quickly"came into the world on March 6 2012 kicking and screaming. She was our little surprise bundle of joy! We have enjoyed every bit of watching her grow and change day to day over the past year! Time flies when your having fun chasing around 4 children. God's hand was on the design of our family long before we even knew how many children we wanted to have! Thank you Lord for the 4 amazing children you have intrusted us to raise. We are so blessed!

Spring traditions

If the hill country is blessed with some spring showers then your sure to find some beautiful bluebonnet fields anywhere along the highways. Finding the best patch is the funnest part! These patches are just outside Brenham, Tx where we pulled over and snapped some pictures. I think each of our babies have "bluebonnet pictures". It's a wonderful memory I have of my mom and grandparents taking us on a road trip and doing the same thing.

My sista

Love, Love Love these girls

Rio Grande Zoo

I must say this Zoo is amazing! Its our second time to go and I think my favorite animals are the Polar Bears! They are so beautiful and interesting to watch! We went on a day that was not very crowded which made it even nicer! The kids loved the Snow leopard and the gorillas.

New Mexico Trip

We packed the van and drove to New Mexico (13 hours) the second weekend in October to visit my sista and brother-in-law for a nice little vacation. Michelle had the weekend all planned out! On our agenda was the Balloon fiesta, Night Glow, The Rio Grande Zoo and a very large pumpkin patch. The mass assent of  Balloons takes place the first two weekends of the month every year. We had to get up really early to go to a hill top in Alb. to watch all of the balloons rise in the sky! It was an amazing sight to see as sunrise began. The kids counted over 100 balloons in the sky!

One of the fun things to do is chase down the balloons as they are landing. Some of the people have trading cards that they hand out to the kids and sometimes you can help them role up the balloons after they land. This one is called "American Pie" and we were able to watch it take off from a parking lot near to where we were going to eat breakfast. That was really cool!

This is the Night Glow. It's kind of like a State Fair only 10x bigger and with hundreds of balloons! As night falls the balloons get ready to light their fire. Everyone is able to walk around and look at the balloons up close. There is a count down 10-1 through out the night as the balloons turn the fire on so the mass of people can see the balloons light up! it was so neat and very beautiful! The yellow one in the above picture was one of the first balloons entered in the fiesta 40 years ago.

Sunday morning we chased down these two balloons but they landed to far into a field to be able to help them role up their balloon. We literally followed the balloon chaser van to the location. It's an adrenalin rush for sure! We were driving so close to one it was flying right above our van!
