A Tale of Two Dwarfs

Went to the watch the premiere today.
It was really really AWESOME! I think even awesome is an understatement.
This is definitely the movie of the year. If you thought Spidey3, Pirates3, Shrek3 or even Fantastic2 was great, u haven't seen anything yet.

Ok, I rmb vaguely watching the cartoon when i was so young i can't even rmb when. lol.. The point is.. the movie brought back many fond memories of watching the cartoon with me bro. Damn nice... =D

Anyway, LOVED all the Autobots especially the Bumblebee character. He's that metal scrap turned posh Camaro and his choice of radio songs to express himself when he couldn't talk... CUTE!!!! =P I actually kinda like tht Frenzy character too. He's tht boombox turned chaotic spy. He's evil yet kinda stupid in a funny way. haha...

If anyone of you is/was not a Transformers fan last time.. you WILL BE. hahaha... The movie, although with a little bit of difference from the original cartoon, is seriously fantastic! And who cares really whether Bumblebee was a Volkswagen in the original or Optimus Prime was a little rusted originally (someone told me.. is this true??). Every movie is a new art creation. You can't expect any 2 art to be exactly the same!

Story was amazing - Good vs evil. Good triumphs over evil!
Cast was superb - Sleek machines, cute actors, sexy babes... wat else u need?
Songs were rocking - A lil' oldies here, a lil' latest hits there.. perfect! (did i mention i'm getting old, and oldies are my kind of songs now? lol..)
Special effects were excellent - it's complicated robots with superhuman characteristics we're talking here!

In a nutshell, today's movie outing with Jun, Joeyin, Vince, Daniel, Varun, Jacelyn, (oh no... i'm forgetting the names.. think there's Cherina/Sherina, Kah Hong @ Pg's Superstar, and Wei/Hui Ling?) was a BLAST!!! (Plus the fact that this movie only costs me 5 bucks with my student card makes it all the more worth it! =P)

After my previous out-of-ordinary post, today's entry shall be a happy-er one.

Well, for starters, the Canadian FOUND his passport the night he "lost" it itself. But failed to mention it to me till I found out the next day at the International Office.. And not through him at all. Thanks for the heart attack dude. The funny thing was, he "misplaced" the passport in his own apartment, UNDER HIS BED/PILLOW all along! Adui… He wanted to keep it safe, but can't even remember where he keeps it! Interesting! Maybe he should draw a secret treasure map for himself - Zzz marks the spot. Lol…

Much progress have taken place since my last entry…

Friends have return to USM. I have neighbours now!!! Hehehe.. =D They all came back on Sunday night.. And since then, my stay in hell-hole has improved vastly.. I have company to talk to late at night, to walk to n from the IO under the HOT sun together, to go online at the mamak stall together… Oh, there's something I find interesting and I must share it with u guys. I dunno whether u guys already know about this.. But the mamak stalls in Malaysia, ESPECIALLY Penang are damn technologically modernised these days. They provide wireless hotspot man! Hahaha.. And they even key in all your orders into the computer, u noe like in those western restaurants.. Lol. Mamak stalls are no longer the dirty café where ppl gather to have teh tarik and roti canai. Nope. Times have certainly changed.

Oh, regarding the resource room. It's actually a room full of booklets on the foreign unis that the international office has alliance with. So, it's used by local n foreign students to help them with their exchange programme etc.. And since I'm part of the international office, I was put to the task of tidying and decorating tht messy room. In the beginning, I was working alone cos no one was back yet.. But now tht there's more manpower, we've got tht room decorated le. Hehehe.. Jus finished "recycling" some old coloured A4 paper that was stuck uglily on the walls before, and made it into a divider on the walls. Kinda ugly actually. Hehe.. Oh well, at least it's nicer than before. This is what happens when they wanted me to "decorate". For the record, I have no creativity cells in me brain.

After being here for 10 days… I've met

2 Canadians (friendly but a lil' blur I'd say),

3 Japanese (friendly + funny),

1 Austrian (pretty and whom I'm dying to practice speaking german with),

1 French (gal frm the caribbeans who's cute) and

countless mid-easterners (whom I can't recall their names.. But one thing's for sure, they all love to smoke "sisha" in the mamak restaurant - tht flavoured water smoking thingy)

So overall, life in Penang is not that bad afterall…for now. ^.^

Yup. I've survived the 4th day since me arrival on Penangites' isla paraíso.

Penang's slowly turning out to be what I expected it should be…

The weather is back to normal, and by "normal" I mean u can still see the sun shinning damn bloody hot & brightly at 7pm…

And everyone... yes, everyone detests returning to Penang. [This does not apply to Penang Island natives.] How else can u explain why no one wants to return to Penang to help me? Why on earth are they staying in their bloody comfortable house with lotsa ppl under one roof just 13.5km from Penang island across the Penang Bridge, while I'm stuck here in Restu all alone (still) on the entire floor??? Every night no matter 7pm or 11pm, when I walk back to my hostel, NONE of the windows are lighted. No matter from which side of the building I see. Can u even imagine???

This is a TRAGEDY!!!!!

Not I want to complain.. IO (or the ppl in charge of accomodation), wat on earth are u thinking putting us here in Restu with no one else in it? And @#$%^& USM, wat the bloody hell were u thinkin when u decided M02 was goin to be a female hostel? It's situated rite at the bloody end and bottom of the other side of the RST hill covered by ALL the other hostels includin males'. U think in the 21st century, gals have evolved to be braver and safer than males now is it???

Came back at 1am last nite (my mum better not know this), and the one and only, I've-got-the-whole-hill-covered-don’t-worry-look security guard won't allow my friend to send me in by car when we clearly told him it was RESTU??? (Oh gosh, love the name. Wat a blessing indeed) On the other hand, if my fren was a malay, he would definitely have been allowed unrestricted + unlimited entry. *&^%$#

F* them all la!

Ok, u probably have no idea wat I'm bitchin about, let me draw a pic..

So u see, no matter from which direction I walk from the entrance, I still have to make a damn big round the hill to reach my hostel!!! If there was a party at the end of the hill I would have gladly walk there everyday at any hour la… But the problem is, it's an empty deserted building at the moment. They won't even bother to switch on any lights around the building to save their electricity bills i reckon. (This ONLY happens to Restu M02 - and tht's like sooo gonna save them a whole lot of money) Shit!!!! Ish..

It's 4.08am and I'm still harping on this entry… I hate myself!

This is going on too long… when can classes start? I wanna QUIT!!!!

Room 1-8A, Block M02, Restu Hostel, USM, Penang.

This is the address where I'm cooped up rite now.
Can someone please come rescue me? Hahaha… I suppose reality hasn’t quite sunk in. I still have not gotten used to the fact that I am here in Penang dy la… this feels so weird!

It's only been 1 month, 22 days since I left Penang, but everything seems a whole lot different somewhat. Besides the fact that Penang is now rainy and stormy 24/7, (Oh ok, only jus for today.) Penang seems.. tranquil upon my return. The circumstance that I'm the ONLY one on level 1 and pretty sure among the less than 10 occupants in this eerie building makes it even more obvious.

Well, thankfully I've got me lappy and DVDs with me. *happy dance* I would freak out and go bonkers if I stayed in this hole for another second without entertainment. There's practically no view outside my window.. All I see is an empty walkway rite in front of it and the neighbouring buildings with pitch black windows and the quiet ground below. Ooh.. What a sight. =S Hence, I've decided to draw the curtains tight. Cos looking out the window just makes it all the more lonelier plus scarier at night. Did I mention I have a very good imagination? =D

Had to pee jus a while ago. And gosh.. Wat an adventure… First, I had to open the door and take a looong look outside before stepping out, locking the door made so much noise and it seemed forever, moved flash-like while constantly listening for other sounds in the oh so silent toilet that u can hear your own breath, later with a very loud beating heart I have to open the damn security-tight door lock making so much racket yet again, and peeping into my room first to ensure there isn't anyone in there (even though the possibility is theoretically zero) and finally running in and double-locking the door. I swear I watch too many horror n criminal investigation shows. Thinking back, what did I think I was gonna do if there really was someone somewhere? Hmmm... I honestly don’t know.

Oh well, it's just another 16 days here alone. I can handle it… Right?

I hate this. This sucks... Why can't i go to uni in Spore or somewhere else nearer to JB? Why am i sent miles away to Penang. No offence to Penangites, but, i prefer living in JB anytime (even with the bloody increasing crime rate. ish..). Cos here's where i grew up for the past 20 years and here's where i'm most at ease and happy. Penang is just total opposites of JB.

• For one, JB is at the South of Peninsular M'sia while Penang is a small island way up North.
• JB is near Singapore which means it's very near civilisation while Pg is near Kedah which sad to say, is still a laid back state.
• JB is very cooling, always (compared to Pg) even at it's hottest days, it'll at least still be damp. Pg on the other hand, is HOT all year round, and when it eventually rains.. the suns pops up immediately 15mins later with a vengeance. Can't the sun stay away from Pg?
  

I'm jus crapping here cos i DON'T WANT to pack my stuff. I'm procrastinating on purpose to avoid going anywhere near my luggage bag which is sitting there conspicuously. I've only folded 1 pathetic shirt so far and i'm lazy to continue foldin the next one. I wonder how fluttered i'll be later in the day. I can imagine myself rushing around like a mad woman.. yet, i won't budge to settle this packing business once and for all. I'm so living in denial. Someone help me!!!!

I hope me not sleeping tonite will help me sleep like a pig later in the bus. Cos i'm afraid i might decide to jump off the bus later if i miss home terribly. hehehe..

Okok. The bag's begging and shouting at me to fill it with stuff.. Here i go...

I'm a damn bloody indecisive gal. I can't make decisions to save my life. Gosh.. why like that???

Went into Singapore last Thurs with MingEng, Lifen and Ruiwen, supposedly to conquer the Great Singapore Sale. Mana tau.. i ended up with just nothing more than $10 of goods. And only $4 of it is for myself. Adui... I had made plans. I had gathered all the sufficient info I needed. I even made a mental list of things to buy! All of it went down the big sewer.

First stop - Parco Bugis Junction. Had a delicious Ramen lunch at Ajisen. Wandered around for hours after the meal. Went into shops with HUGE signs of 50% discounts and above. Tested some clothes. Ruiwen n ME bought dozens of clothes n shoes (almost), while Lifen n i window shopped the entire time.

With nothing gained, hmm.. more like nothing spent in Parco, I journeyed on to Bugis Street. I've heard so much about Bugis St. from all my friends so i went there with hopes as high as Mt Everest. STILL... Nothing caught my eye!!! I searched every shop i could find for a bag for mum, yet i could find none suitable for her. Hmm.. Maybe my eyes were set too high.. Maybe I really fancy nothing I saw there that day.. Or jus maybe, I couldn't decide which I would really like to buy for my mum. Anyway, in our rush to meet up with Norven in Vivocity, we left the place early without exploring the other shops. Sigh.... Sorry bout tht Lifen n Ruiwen.

Ok, so Bugis was a big letdown for me. Vivocity was my next possible hope. Although I didn't pin much hope on Vivocity cos it's famous for being an expensive out-of-my-budget-range shopping mall, nevertheless, i went there with happy positive thoughts of buyin something really nice for myself. Went straight to Nichii the M'sian opened boutique where Nor works. We all simply took some clothes to try so we could surprise nor while she worked. hehehe... Tried on a black top. It was not bad.. but i was still hesitant to buy it. So we left Nichii after being reprimanded by Nor for not replying her msg. Met with YuHooi to have tea/dinner.

*Note: Secret Recipe @ Vivocity SUCKS big time. Drinks wasn't even served after we came back from the WC. They had forgotten or lost our order somewhere n had to retake our order 2 freakin times (after Lifen complained) to get it right. By tht time, the food we specifically ordered for was out! Sheesh.. N the bloody manager/chief waiter can still stand there ignoring us even though we were just inches away from him n grumbling like hell. Idiot. Our brownies came in the end.. It was ok. Our lemon tea tasted like sugar water. Ruiwen's lasagna looked like shit and tasted like.. Shit. Even so, she gobbled everything up cos she was famished. Poor thing.

After that not so satisfying meal, we continued our rampage thru vivo. But before we did that, we did wat every Singaporean is famous for.. QUEUE UP. We queued up for Vinco's Donuts. While we were sitting in Secret Recipe, we could see a crowd outside tht donut shop so we wondered wat was so amazing bout it. Pang (aka Ruiwen) wanted to treat us to donuts, and planned to buy 6 of it. We were queueing until we were 3rd in line.. when suddenly pang says, she don want to eat. In the end only yuhooi n lifen ordered 1 each. It was hilarious la, we lined up so long.. jus following the crowd but in the end we only bought 2 while the Sg'eans were buying in dozens! Anyhow, lifen regretted not buying more.. cos it was seriously DELICIOUS! Dunkin' Donuts can forget bout openin a shop in Sg forever.

We dashed from shop to shop. Searching for bargains n anything to buy at all. Lifen n i were already at the point of desperation. We needed to buy something just to fulfil our burning desire. I saw a lovely tube top at LVER. I really decided i was going to buy that already... when i found out it had flaws!! All the 3 of it left on the rack was dirtied. It had stains or black spots on it. AARRGGHHH!!!!!!!!! This sucks!!! My legs are aching like hell, we still haven got ourselves anything. Pang n yuhooi already seem tired from following us ard like mad. The shops are closing in 30mins... We need to get something ASAP!

Ultimately... we spotted THE ONE! We saw Daiso (not sure bout the name). That was our last resort. We ran in like it was an oasis and we were in a desert. It was a mini supermarket of imported Japanese goods. And the best part was... EVERYTHING was for $2 only!!!! Wah.. that's it. Lifen n i promised to shop like crazy. I grabbed a basket.. n took whatever i wanted. Somehow, all the things i took was for my family! Urgh... Wat the heck! In the end, lifen n i bought ourselves a mini pack of 6 colour highlighter pens among the other stuffs we grabbed. Btw, we were the last ppl to leave the shop. hahahaha... We were that desperate.

This is the misadventure of my trip to Singapore. So much for the GSS going on there. 70% of my total expenditure went to food. Gosh.. i could have just eaten here in JB lah.. Wat a terrible waste of time n energy to enter Sg jus for food. -.-ll

Returned to JB at exactly midnight. Promised to meet up again before i leave. And so we did on Saturday. Went to City Square again... like there's no other shoppin mall left in JB. Sad.. Made a vow to bring lotsa cash to spend. I swear that was my plan.. But it all went AWRY. Bought no jacket, bought no shirts.. nada. Only bought magazines n stationery from Popular. How pathetic can i be??? MingEng n Pang were soooo going to slaughter me alive that day if it wasn't for the need for them to return early. hahaha.... They still would like to kill me now if they knew that i didn't buy any shirts after they left. hehehe... Well, now they would know, but by the time u guys read this i'll be 700km away. bwahahaha... =P

Anyways, i LOVE u gals so so much!!! Thanks for tolerating this indecisive idiot.

1. Grumpy and Sleepy have known each other since Pri 5? And only became very close in Sec 2. We were in the same sports team - St. Patricks (which dropped from 1st to last throughout the 5 years) and in the same dead body (uniform body i mean) - Pandu Puteri.
   
2. Both dwarfs like to admire, critic and gaze at cute guys. (Eg: Michael Vartan & Michael Rosenbaum. Ooh.. both are Michaels! ^^)
   
3. We agree that the world these days are just filled with too many matured n violent themed cartoons! Wat happen to fairies, bears with super powers and heroes with names like Captain Planet??

It was like old times again on Saturday when i met up with Ming Eng, Choo, Nor, Lifen, and CK. Too bad CS, Ally, Sab, Rojak n all was missing. Or else it would be just like those crazy days in SIGS. hehehe...

Hmm... tho it wasn't exactly my fault, but poor CK la, kena blasted by ME for cancelling Fri's meeting without informing. Sorry for causing confusion guys... Btw CK, in the end did u get that pair of shoes from Fabiano Ricco? It was damn nice...

Ooh.. and i finally watched Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End!!!! It was fantastically awesome la... unlike wat grumpy said hehehe... All da butt aches throughout the 3 hours movie was definitely worth it. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp!!) was definitely the star of da movie. And the only one worth watching ^.^ Loved one of his lines, can't remember the exact words.. but it was said in the conversation before he blew Will off the ship... "Let me be the machete to your blockhead." hehehe.. i like it!

Anyways, this coming tues will be my last day at work... and i'll be free for the last few days in JB. Yippee!!! Plan to go into Singapore and spend my money like crazy. Yay!!!! Nah... can't afford to do that. But hanging out with frens there will definitely be fun! Pang, if you're reading this, we plan to go in on wed/thu/fri/sat/sun. U wanna join??? Come la... hehehe.. =D
