it's been a while since i blogged, or should i say complained about the world. :)

so, after almost half a century - ie since independence - Malaysia has finally decided to do something about the state of public toilets in the country. read all about it here.

in my opinion, i think that it is a waste of taxpayers' money when they launch campaigns like these. if the people are retards, there is no point in campaigning when it is obvious the message will not get through to those people! campaign after campaign have been launched, but there are no results!

that is the problem with the country. there is no maintenance. they get all hyped up about a project, and 5 years later you will see everything go down the drain. and then! the government will spend billions to repair the infrastructure and crap.

take a look at Jalan Wong Ah Fook. they spent so much to "beautify" the street, with gaudy looking shit all over, and do you see anyone locals there? hell no. the place is the place for foreign workers. the banglas, indons, etc congregate there. and from there, they would target for potential victims.

another thing, cabbies in Malaysia do not go by meter. Proof? here you go. and from that article, it seems that they're not ashamed about it. dishonest? yep yep yep! and they're trying to draw tourists to the country, how?

and JB is going crazy as well, increased snatch thefts which, i think is due to the increase in foreign workers and illegal immigrants. hello, police force? tidur kah? i guess the police is very slow to react, but that's better than doing nothing. at least they're finally doing something. read about it here. sigh. i guess the paranoia and sleepless nights will come flooding back to me when i return to JB.

with all these dirtyness, dishonesty, and insecurities, they want to attract tourists to the country how?

Home Sweet Home

Aaah....
After sitting for about 9hrs on a super express bus, it's really feels comfortable and great to be able to walk about on land. haha.. Thank god for businessmen who always come up with better ideas, i don have to sit on the bus for another 2 more extra hours now. Can u imagine poor people back then??

So i got off the bus at 6.40am at a very dark entrance of our town's very own lousy bus terminal. Is it really that much to pay for the electric charges of 5 more street lights? Why on earth can't the people in charge think of the passengers safety? What's more with the increasing snatch theft cases in JB are they really wishing to lose business with thefts happening rite there at their entrance??? Thank god for my bro n sis who came to pick me up or else who knows wat could happen to me?! When i called my bro to tell him my location, he said "Where? Where r u? I can't see u. No... no one's there wat?" Duh... w/o any lights what can u see? Summore i've gotten sooo dark in tht hot island. Chances of u seeing me is almost nil. -.- haha... Anyway, so happy to see their faces!

Home at last!
The feeling is truly refreshing after a long time away from home. First thing i did after unpacking was to look around my messy home. Yup. It looks just like it was before i left 2 months ago. Guess this house just can't do w/o me. hahaha... 8 DAYS!!!! Tonnes of the BEST mag on earth strewn all over the table waiting for me to read it! Hahaha... And then came the next important routine. Switched on the TV. Everwood was on! Omg.. Amy is getting prettier each time, while Ephram's hair is getting 'moppy'. Not tht good looking anymore. hehe... Gosh.. so many shows to watch but i've only got a week! Ooh.. tmr there's The Emmy's - a show worth watching for the eye-candies! =P And my super great dad made homemade popcorn! Ssswweeet! And for dinner... spaghetti! This is very rare as he only cooks spaghetti during big occassions like Christmas or when there's relatives visiting. Can't wait... i'm drooling rite now. Got to stop...

Happiness

I'll be goin home in 2 days!!! Lalala..... H-A-P-P-Y
So many things to do, but so little time!

Things to do when i get home
  1. Stuff myself with nice glorious heavenly food
  2. Watch TV like there's no tomorrow
  3. Listen to the radio all day all night
  4. Shop, shop n shop till i (maybe my mum) drop
  5. Transfer all my mp3 to my laptop
  6. Visit frens oversea(straits)
  7. Learn to appreciate the washing machine
  8. Stock up on nice glorious heavenly food =P
  9. Study for mid-sem test
  10. Complete assignments

Why must the lecturers torture us by giving us assignments during a sem break? It's already so hard for us to go home.. n they won't even let us off for ONE week??!! Ish.... I'm not goin to spoil this happy mood by thinkin about it now... Holiday holiday holiday... "Let me go hoooooommmme...."

Speaking of my lecturers. Because my class is soo small (there's only 60 odd people) my super duper fantastic lecturer actually remembers each and everyone's name in just 2 mths! She actually point at us and named us without reading any list k? Damn. Can't even try to slack in class. Wats more... these lecturers are born to make life hard for us... If u were given a choice to answer 3 out of 4 questions.. how many would you answer? Any smart student would say 4 rite? WRONG! Answering 4 in my course is not smart move. My wonderful lecturer says.. instead of selecting the 3 best marks, she'll pick the 3 worse marks!!! Wat de??!! So u see.. the chinese saying was rite, "Cong ming fan bei cong ming wu" which means sumthing like.. Don be a smart ass!

Ok.. goin to start paking my bags. Wee~

fireflies

okay. miss sleepyhead just told me something i would consider quite shocking - she's never seen a firefly before.

seriously, the myth that city kids are more exposed to the world is so...wrong. in her 20 years on this Earth, poor sleepyhead has never seen/caught/had any contact with fireflies. but come to think of it, you won't be able to find fireflies in the bright city lights huh.

anyhoos, i didn't grow up in the kampung, but i'm more kampung-fied in the sense that i've seen fireflies before! in fact, i've caught them before hokays.

so back in the days when i was a fat, short and innocent (still am all these) lil' girl, my family and I would visit my aunt in Kluang which is like, 2 hours' drive from JB? i'm not sure. so we visited quite often, sometimes during Christmas as she's Christian and she would invite us for the parties which i would say was incredibly BORING because they were all adults and strangers.

one particular Christmas when everyone was asleep upstairs my sister, my cousin and I went to this lil' park opposite their house to catch fireflies. it was awesome! we caught so many! it was fun! and best of all, the adults didn't know what was going cos they were sleeping mwahahaha.

we caught them, put them in jars, and brought them into the house. we closed all windows and doors, turned off all lights except the twinkling Christmas lights on the tree, and...we released the fireflies.

it was AMAZING. it was my first time catching fireflies and i loved the feeling of the firefly in my hands. so we just watched them zoom around in the dark. sigh...those happy days lol. anyways after we finally got bored of it all we opened the windows and doors and let them all fly back to the park. hehe see we're kind souls haha.

that was the first and my last time i saw fireflies. and i would love to see it again; to catch it and feel it in my hands, to see them zooming around in a dark room, and just relive those wonderful childhood days. :)

my first entry!

yay new bloggie! lol...thanks sleepyhead for doing the template and all, i've been really busy and well, grumpy lately *hee hee* must be the pms. sorry for not helping :(

anywhos, i've been reading TheStar Online and wtf, KL is such a retarded place right now. 2 students were attacked by snatch thieves, one died. what the hell is going on, man! and these thieves. how much money do you think students carry with them?! it's not like they were going for dinner at some posh hotel or restaurant. *dang* but what the hell, if they were smart they wouldn't be thieves right.

and now the Government has spent millions on CCTV which is supposed to help fight crimes. read all about it here. seriously, if you don't have efficient police staff to handle these cases, what is the whole point of using all these technology?! *grumbles*

bah, i really am grumpy. lol. shall go have some green tea to calm me down *grins*

thanks again sleepyhead for setting up the blog!

Time To Come

I don't know if anyone has read this adage, but I find it spell binding. It goes like this…

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
And a child that's born on the Sabbath day
Is fair, wise, good and gay.
[mid 19th century Proverbs]

Okay, how cool is that? It’s actually in the collection of Proverbs! (according to The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations) How on earth do these ancient people predict what happens to a child born on which particular day? How long did they researched n how reliable is it? I mean most Proverbs are true aren't they? Look at...

Dreams go by contraries. -early 15th century
(So true!)

Fortune favours fools. -mid 16th century
(Hmm...I'm stupid.)

Better be an old man's darling than a young man's slave. -mid 16th century
(Didn't know women back then were already so scheming! =P)

I came across this birthday proverb while I was flipping thru my baby photo album long ago. It was rite there on the front page so I couldn't have missed it. I have been intrigued by it ever since. Very curious to find out what Destiny has in store for me, a Thursday's child. What does 'far' mean? How far is 'far'? Would I get the chance to travel around the world? Or does it mean tht I would accomplish great things? Hmm… I wonder…

Another interesting thing is Chinese have a believe that the way a person holds the chopsticks, can determine where s/he will live after s/he gets married. The higher up u hold your chopsticks, the farther u will move away from your hometown. So, if u hold ur chopsticks way low, u'll might just end up getting married to ur neighbour. Lol. I hold my chopsticks quite high so, is this another indication?? LOL...

There is too much coincidence to be ignored. Hence, I'm now living in a dream tht one day I would be jet setting around the world. Doing great things. Leading a very fulfilled life. Hehe… Hopefully it'll come true! ^o^

Fairy Tales

A blog of tales as told by Grumpy and Sleepy.
Well, it is not entirely grandmother stories... It's more like an outlet for us to crap. lol.

I'm Sleepy and my collaborator is Grumpy. Maybe from our names you are already guessing our blog isn't going to be that interesting. Hopefully, we can prove you wrong.
