Are you there, Elevator-God? It's me, Addison.
If I really have to get an ethnic costume, I wish it were Katharine Heigl's saree.
I shall switch over to livejournal. I haven't been updating either one of the blogs much but I prefer LJ. A level of anonymity (minus one idiot who dug my url out) and people who share the same interests as me! It's rare to find those people. I think.
AND, SELINE: This is pure maliciously evil karma but I fell down on Monday and sprained my ankle! It's still swollen now. it's less embarrassing than your fall but the impact is greater. Ugh! Then i got hit by a ball across my lips, and just as i was shouting and about to get up to move, another one whacked me on the head!!!!!! Karma! For all the times i've hit people with balls/rackets/whatever...
Paul Dano is made of awesome.

Ms. Bilson fills out her bra nicely, but is nowhere as seductive as Jamie Bell, who, as a British jumper called Griffin, gives the film a jolt of energy along with a heartbeat. When he jumps, so does the film. - NYT
Jumper: Entertaining enough, and idiot-proof but full of...loopholes. It's real simple, with not much depth.
Well..... the most exciting bit for me was when Kristen Stewart appeared, back to her red roots and looking so mysterious, prompting me to go "Bella! Bella!"
Ironically enough they replaced Tom Sturridge, aka candidate for Edward, with the pretty-enough Hayden, who does look a heck lot like Wentworth Miller.
The film's decent enough but i was dying for Juno. But it's gone from quirky indie flick to a mainstream film now. The quality is unaffected but i feel it's kind of dampened by the fact that so many people are embracing it now.
Jumper is ok, overall. Um, 3:10 to Yuma is much more thRilling and much better.
Another note: Sweeney Todd is visually a feast, and the score is real grandiose at times, but it didn't resonate well with me musically. The songs weren't stuck in my head, swirling and swirling. I was slightly disappointed by the film, as i had read from one of the million reviews i've scoured for that this Tim Burton's crowning glory. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that Helena Bonham Carter played Mrs. Lovett. I didn't feel much empathy for her somehow so it didn't sit that well. But the last, final scene is ultimately heart-wrenching.It brings the film full-circle, i feel. When i caught the film, I was high on this karma idea. I forgot why but something occurred to make me believe in karma, which I don't really believe in. So the ending was just like, what comes around goes around, and oddly bittersweet.
Oh and, JACK SPARROW OWNS BORAT.

And after my insane Grey's Anatomy Marathon, I have finished whatever i had on my hands and there's nothing for me to watch on TV. As I moped around and sought refuge on whatever crap's on TV, finally, finally, they're bringing PROJECT RUNWAY back!!!!!!!! Now there's something to look forward to on Thursday nights again! (and something else to distract me from my uh music practice)
I have had enough of people saying that I am superficial. I am by far one of the least superficial people around. It's easier to comment on things on the surface to people than on what i raelly think of the person. It's hard to verbalize thoughts, see. Deep thoughts. I think peopple would be genuinely surprised if i really do blurt out everything i think about them. I give people more credit than they think, and I couldn't give less of a shit for some others.
Today was an embarrassing day as I stoned so much. Highlight was when S 'rolled' down the steps.
Who's one person you'd bring back alive for one day?
Mine would be Freddie Mercury, no doubt of it. I left The Police concert singing Under Pressure! Would Sting kill me?
I hate crowds. I hate the feeling of being squashed among people. I don't like interaction with strangers, at all. I fail to make small talk! I wish i could make small talk. I don't. I hate small talk. This is contradictory. I hate it because it is mandatory to talk between two people just to rid the awkwardness. But the awkwardness stems out of not talking. See. I am not the sort to randomly ask people questions of their life as it seems like i'm prying and I honestly don't care about those questions they ask ins mall talk.
The real questions I want to ask, I can't.
I only read one book this year. It is exquisite. I love the way the author writes, she steals me off. Her sentences are short. Straight to the point. Fuss-free. I wish I could write like that. And still convey the emotions.
They'er showing Closer on C5 now. They must have spent a long time editing it. It's full of fucks and Natalie Portman strutting around in a G-string.
I hate Jude Law. I can't stand his face.
My obsession with heights continue:
I am certain i am..
taller than:
Jessica Simpson
Lindsay Lohan
Scarlett Johannson
Jennifer Aniston
Natalie Portman ( According to my mum, i "towered" over her when i was 13.)
Rachel Bilson (duh)
Sarah JP
Ellen Page
Reese Witherspoon
3cm shorter than
Eva Mendes
Eva Green
Perhaps: Sandra Oh
Ellen Pompeo
I am not patriotic. I say this first so people can't judge me.

I dont know what's up with blogger but i can't change my blogskin. Sheesh.
I'm painting now. On the clay WM gave me. It costs a bomb, man. Thanks man.
After i logged off last night, or morning, I took out the clay and rolled some stuff. Did a snowman. Did a pig. Did a cat. Tried a Cartman but was too bad, turned it into an angel but I dunno how to make wings.
So now I'm painting.
I felt kind of weird and i called someone just to make sure i'm ok
Cousin- You're making clay figures, at 1.10a.m.
Me- Yes, that's why I called you.
then we ended up talking for quite some time as I gave up on the clay and waited for them to dry.
Got an sms at 2.45a.m. or so just as i was maybe about to drift off, and it was oddly amusing and very comforting to know there are people awake at such a time too. I replied. Then i got a call which scared me because it's TC5's Happy Birthday and it's quite loud.
Wwoke up at um 11.
I am a complete idiot. I forgot to let uncle Tony sign my nyaa booklet. OH MAN I SUCK.
sigh.
Exciting piece of news (because my life isn't)-
Will Smith in Hong Kong next week
i want to go and see him because i want to see how tall he is. My mum told me about it and i was all like WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH I WANT TO GO! but she refuses to take me there. She says she can get me a cab and i can go queue for all i want. Nice.

THE PLANE WILL BE SHOWING THE DARJEELING LIMITED!
(hmm that sentence doesn't make much sense but... anyway, i can view the movie on the plane!!!!!)
HURRAH!!!!!!!
and lotsa cool movies too...
like Mulan. :D
And cool stuff.
Like Shoot 'Em Up.
The Bourne Ultimatum.
The Invasion.
and SUPERBADDDD.
and all the indie flicks i'm interested in!
Like Steve Buschemi's Interview , with Sienna Miller. AND DEATH AT A FUNERAL. and , yay, Broken English.
They're even showing James Bond. But, sadly, it ain't Sean Connery's. It's George's. Blahhh but that one was nice.
Ho hum the printer thing is settled now. Yay. I'm currently popping blueberries into my mouth. I love fruit. I remember Mrs Khong saying there wasn't a plural for fruit, as in you don't add a 's' after fruit because i think she was hinting it meant that you were gay.
Maybe blueberries will inspire me to write my essay. Blue like amnesia, blue like blueberries that get smushed in your mouth, blue like the moon the pigs fly past. I koped the last line from fiction press. it's enlightening!
Blue like the moon the pigs fly past.
I like that. But i can't use it. It's not mine.
I finished Art School Confidential last night. The story was interesting, especially the twist at the end. The movie could have been better, because it had the potential to be a great indie smash but i guess, for me, the problem was with the lead actor who portrayed Jerome. I mean, you're supposed to root for the guy, but he was pretty much a loser to the end. I'm sorry! I feel so bad for calling people losers, but he was kinda... He looked like a faux Zach Braff, but without the charisma. I was rooting for him over Jonah but somehow they could have made him more appealing? More likeable. And he just seemed to whine about not getting Audrey. And the scriptwriter OD-ed on the F-word. Maybe he wanted to portray a really grime, sordid situation, which he did, but it got to me. It was unnecessary, and i didn't like the Strangler at all. It would have been great if they could make us sympathize with his condition, which i did not.
But it's a worthwhile watch, because it plants some ideas into your head. On the whole concept of art. What the heck is art?
Deborah and I watched United 93 like we had promised to in Shanghai, and we weren't really watching until the 2nd Disc, which is when they finally hijacked the plane and it got so tense. It's such a saddening film. Perhaps, if i had paid attention through the whole show , perhaps it'd have made me cry or something. I doubt it though. I think if i watch Edward Scissorhands now, i'd cry. I don't dare to. And really you have to watch united 93. I feel so blessed now. Salute the people on the plane. Brave souls,in such an unfortunate situation..
Then we watched a recent arthouse flick that's gathering lots of frenzy but i shan't say. It was okay..... It was too arty-farty for us.
Ho hum .
I'll run off to Facebook yet again. But this time i'm there to set up an account for some lazy bum.
3:03 pm
Now that November is rolling to the end and December is going to kick November away in a couple days' time, it signals the end of 2007.
This year has been great.
Not academic-wise but it's just been a nice, happy year overall. I remember watching Night @ The Museum on the 1st of January and I was expecting 2007 to be like the movie, just mediocre. But it's been much more.
Especialllly for movies. This year I caught some really good movies in cinemas.
Now let's do a wrap-up for what i've seen in cinemas.
Night at The Museum - ok..
Stranger Than Ficiton - Good
Blood Diamond - Awesome
The Queen - Awesome
Epic Movie - Bullshit. Complete waste of my money. Worst movie of the year.
Ghost Rider - Booooooooo
300 - KICK ASS AWESOME
Spiderman 3 - Good, maybe awesome
Blades Of Glory - Hilarious
Ocean's 13 - Ok. Not very funny, but Matt Damon with the nosepiece in a Dr. No suit? Hell yeah!
Fracture - Quite good.
Shrek The Third - Funny.
Fantastic Four - Ok... Like the first one. I like the Silver Surfer.
Die Hard 4.0 - Good. Bruce Willis can still kick ass.
Harry Potter 5 - Quite cool. But where was the climax?
Hairspray - Awesome!
(x2)
Ratatouille (X2) - Four words- Pixar is da bomb.
The Nanny Diaries - Not very funny. I think the book was better. But heck.. I was outside Laura Linney's trailer! Whoo.
Stardust - Much better than I'd expected. I didn't like Charlie Cox. Robert DeNiro was the best.
Enchanted (x2) - Best Disney (without Pixar) movie in ages.
And i'm devastated that I'd probably not get to watch Across The Universe. Pleasssssse. Hold it till i'm back!
But as consolation I'm going to watch Atonement. I don't care what the MDA rates it here. Perhaps M18. But WHAT THE HECK. I'm of suitable age in HONG KONG. WAHAHA.
I'm quite broke now. I spent my money on the Hairspray DVD. Blimey. And i found Grey's Anatomy Season One for.... 55 bucks elsewhere. Sheeeeeesh thankfully i didn't buy the 69bucks one because i didnt have enough money and some kind soul refused to pay for me too .
People owe me money! no wonder i'm broke!!!!!!!!!!
SO I totally need to update my wishlist. I need a long one for books, but i havent got round to reading much these days, what with all the time spent online.
I am still hoping (very unsucessfully) that Half Nelson would drop the price but i doubt it since there's only Code 1 available since it's supposed to be this Indie flick. Sigh. It's unfair. I missed Lars and The Real Girl as well. Both Ryan Gosling films. I caught Fracture which is good. But i'd rather watch the other two.
Someone kind is getting me Grey's Anatomy S1 and someone else who is nice managed to get me Across The Universe Deluxe Edition Soundtrack. I'm loved.
Movies I want to watch-
Across The Universe
Mr Magorium's Emporium
The Darjeeling Limited
Elizabeth- The Golden Age
American Gangster
The Jane Austen Book Club
I am Legend
The Golden Compass (a little bit. Nicole Kidman is illuminating! And 007 with a beard! gasp-)
We Own The Night
3:10 To Yuma
I'm Not There
this is a nice season for movies.
now. what am i to do with the printer problem AND my laptop problem?
i HATE CALLING UP FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT. i must punch buttons for like 10 minutes and wait antoher 10 minutes before someone finally gets around to helping me and then we talk for 10 minutes as i keep going "HUH where?" and get completely, utterly lost.
aweeeeesome.

Monday, November 26, 2007
Slap me, but I wouldn't mind going to the My Chemical Romance concert here so i can snicker at Gerard Way. He used to be quite ok-looking, even bordering on slightly better looking than average. Then he went to bleach his hair. Ew. I can't believe he's married.
Teenagers scare the living shit outta me.
Actually, yeah. I wouldn't mind if I won some tickets to the concert.
I want new shoes.
