Meet Kimber
This is our new puppy!!! Kimber Rodgers. She is so cute! You want the story?
Ok....
So Greg and I really have been wanting a second dog. So we said that we would get one when we get into a home. Which we hope to have this next year. So I said to Greg, "let's just go look at dogs so we can tell what type of breed we want to get" Harmless right?????
haha....
So we went the the South Utah County Animal Shelter and we looked at all the dogs there and we saw a black Chihuahua. She was a year old and we took her in a room to get to know her. She was really adorable. And because she was black, she was considered for the black friday deal, half off! So we wrote down her info and said we needed to think about it and left.
So here I am already wanting a dog now! I really liked her, put I knew I really really wanted a little puppy. So we called a couple of places and ended up going to Animal Ark in Orem.
We went inside and there were so many cute tiny puppies. Then I saw two dogs on the end that were the least expensive. So we asked if we could see the girl. I knew right when I held her that she was the one I wanted.
Well we left the store, no dog....
We went and got some lunch and I guess my puppy dog eyes worked on Greg because we went back and put a deposit down on her! YAY!!!!!
We left again, and went to another store. We weren't going to pick her up till late that night, but about 45 minutes went by and we decided, oh lets get her now.
So we picked her up!
Well then she didn't have a name yet. And Greg wanted to name her Keira and I wanted Lexie. Then he said how about Kimber?
I said, "Kimber is pretty! ....hey wait a minute, that's the name of your gun!"
It was pretty funny. But we decided to go with it because it was so cute.
So we brought her home to Mollie and they are already best friends!!!!
Spanish Fork Costco beginnings
The people I work with are great! They have welcomed me in and I love it. Clackamas Costco will always be my family, but now I even have more family!
Ok another difference...we don't have exec floaters! Whoo hoo!!! Instead....the cashiers do it. But its really easy! And it works so much better I think. ALL of our cashiers ask every member that isn't already exec and we get tons of upgrades everyday! We have a solid team. Most everyone is brand new. There aren't that many people that have worked longer then I have. I think on the front end alone there is only 4 people with seniority on me and thats including the managers. So its pretty awesome.
I LOVE....LOVE being a supervisor. I have my own team of about 9 people. They rock. Tons of responsibility. I am the safety coordinator on the front end and the D&D person as well. Our warehouse manager is really cool. Very friendly and always smiling. I heard yesterday that they might be rotating the supervisors in about 6 months. So maybe I will learn a new department. I want to go far in this company. I feel more confident than ever.
Ok.....there is one thing I really don't like......sales tax. It's really not fun paying more than I used to. And because there is sales tax, we have to balance resale cards every night.

Last Day at Clackamas
So I went to work today for the last time at Clackamas 097. I was so excited to see everyone there and share all the memories. I especially loved all my hugs! The supervisors gave me a very nice cheesecake! It was so rich I still haven't eaten my piece all the way yet!
Then I went in the break room and there was a box on the table (the one in the picture) and there was a sign saying please leave a note. It was filled with kind words from my Costco family.
I finally had my tears while I was reading them. I was wondering when it was going to finally hit me.
My husband arrived in Utah this afternoon and already got the moving truck all unloaded. I can't wait to see him, Mollie, and our new place!

We are moving to Utah
You heard it right, we are moving. You want the story? Ok... So Greg and I have been married for a year and a half now. We have been wanting to move into a house for so long. But let's back up.... I have been working at the Clackamas Costco for the past seven years as a part time Cashier. The last year I have been filling in as a supervisor a lot. Then there was a posting for full time supervisor and I was thrilled!! I thought this is finally my time! So of course I put in for it. I was smiling a lot at work and making sure I was top notch. I was confident I would get the position. Well then one day I got pulled in the office and low and behold..... I didn't get it. :( I was shocked! Ok, everyone was shocked. I took off a couple of days to gather thoughts and put myself back together. And when I came back to work....
There it was! The sign I was praying for! An opportunity to work at a brand new warehouse in
Spanish Fork Costco. I talked it over with Greg and we both knew this was right. So I put my transfer in very quickly and waited. I got a phone call a couple weeks ago that was from the warehouse manager. He asked me if I would accept a full time cashier position. I accepted.
Oh it's not over yet, keep reading!
On Monday I got a call from a different manager that offered me a full time refund clerk instead. I accepted. Then I talked to Greg about it. He was concerned I wouldn't be getting any supervisor shifts. Oh no! Did I already make a big mistake? I mean my goal is to become a supervisor. It didn't feel right. So I took matters into my own hands and called the warehouse manager the next day. I told him my concerns and he told me that he knows my goal of being a supervisor.
He called me back.... He asked "how would you like to be a full time Supervisor?". YES!!!!!!! Mission accomplished. He gave me my start date of October 17th.
We are ready and can't wait for this new adventure.
