More about Julia

Julia had her 18-month check up at 19 1/2 months. Here's the stats!

Weight: SHE FINALLY HIT 20 LBS!!!! Officially it was 20 lbs 10.5 oz, which keeps her in the 3rd percentile. (At least she's back on the charts - she fell off in between her last well-child check up.)

 Height: 30.75 inches, 13th percentile
Head: 45.5 cm 16th percentile
BMI: 20th percentile.

Although she's in the 3rd percentile for weight, she is not a super scrawny kid and looks super healthy. She's just very, very petite!

What do you see? I see a cute bum!

Doing the laundry

She loves to climb on everything now!

Still in love with shoes

Sat on a goldfish

Learned how to blow her own nose

And irrigate! Yes, she is a genius child

She steals our sunglasses (GA Air Show)

And I swear, neither Greg or I turned her hat backwards. The girl has got style!

She loved the planes at the GA Air Show

Still kissing boys (she was so glad her boyfriend Johnny came back for a visit!)

Loves hats

She very carefully placed her Chick-fil-A cow into her carseat - she will be a great big sister!

Her rookie parents forgot to bring her a bag/bucket for the Ward Trunk-or-Treat, but she didn't seem to mind using a plastic cup. She would walk right up to the person with candy and quietly say, "Trick-Treat." She loved getting things put into her cup, and then would say "Thank you," and run to the next person. It was adorable!

Snow White at her MusicClass with her teacher Miss Emily

Hannah (Annie) and Julia (Snow White) both dressed up for MusicClass!

Her outfit on Halloween Day. I am in love with these tights and just want to gobble this little candy corn up!

We introduced Tracy, Elliot and Graham to trick-or-treating Peachtree City style. Tracy watches Julia while I work, and Julia loves this crew!

Trick-or-Treating with Dad. Halloween Night she finally figured out people were putting CANDY into her bucket, and she tried to eat all of it! We learned for the first time what happens to an over-tired, sugar-high toddler once the trick-or-treating is over. It was not pretty!

I have to say, I am loving the toddler stage! She just gets cuter everyday!

Congratulations! Congratulations! to us

Yes, it's true, we are expecting TWINS! I was determined to never do IVF again, and then I was determined to not do it until the summer of 2014. Then over Memorial Day weekend, I had an impression that I should do it NOW, and I immediately started on the process again. I think it was better that I did it so unexpectedly and didn't have time to get worried about the process. It seemed to go much faster this time round, and Dr. Session was able to change my protocol from the last time to give us even better results.

We had decided we would put two embryos in before the morning of the transfer, but I really didn't expect that we would have two excellent quality blastocysts. The thing about the whole process is that you don't even know what they're going to be transferring until the morning of, and you've got about 5 minutes to decide what you're going to do.

When they showed us we had two perfect blasts, both better quality than Julia's blast, and said our chance of twins would be 50%, I hesitated. "Um Greg, maybe we should just put one in." Greg's reply, "What?! We talked about this; we decided this already. Put them both in!"

Greg is always the wise and rational one of the relationship, so I went with what he said. I knew right off when I got my HCG numbers that it was probably twins, and we weren't surprised at the ultrasound when it was confirmed.

But even though I was prepared for twins, I still went into shock. Can't quite say I've worked my way out of it yet. Twin moms all say, "The first 6 months are really hard, but after that it's great." I can't help but feel a lot of anxiety and worry about what has so far been a much more difficult pregnancy than with Julia and what I am sure will prove to be a  really hard first year once they arrive.

For the record, since it was Greg's decision to put 2 in, it is all his fault!

And Julia announced our good news with "Announcing Miracles #2 and #3, due April 16, 2014. #nojoke #ivfwastoosuccessful #twins #herfacesaysitall
Here are the other pictures I couldn't decide from

My Halloween costume this year. Several people learned from the shirt that I was expecting twins.

14 weeks pregnant
Today, 16 weeks pregnant. I literally DOUBLED in size overnight. No wonder I was having so much ligament pain yesterday!

Trips to TN and UT

I was going to give up on blogging, but after a lesson on family history, I decided I should keep doing it for the benefit of our family. So here's some old posts from our trips a few months ago.

TENNESSEE
We made a special trip to TN to see Kathy, Greg's sister, who was visiting with her 3 little ones in August.
Julia discovered dressing up. It's blurry, but I just love how she's pointing the sword right at us!

Cousins Ty and Luke love Julia

Cousins!

Most kids crawl. My midget can walk through the tunnel.

Forwards and backwards

Julia and Anna are 3 months apart, and if you can believe it, Anna actually weighs less than Julia!

UTAH
Greg took a week off and we headed to UT in September, the last chance to see Alisa and her fam before they moved to Oregon. Of course, Julia got sick during the trip, I got a sinus infection, and both Julia and Greg developed sinus infections when we got home. We loved seeing family, but I think going from 80 degrees to 40 with snow was a little too much for us warm-weather people!
Beautiful Maiya

Maiya and Ella - we missed them so much!

Can you tell these two are related?

Natalie enjoyed playing with Danny - cousin-in-laws

11 weeks pregnant with twins

Hay ride with Danny, Maiya, Ella and Michael

Trying to show that Julia and Natalie have similar characteristics, but they both kept making such silly faces!

Still can't really tell

She didn't want to ride the pony, but she loved watching them. I just love her cute little bum!

She looks so grown-up!

Dad tried to put her on the pony. Mean Dad!

At Gardner's Village

Julia did not like sitting next to this stranger!

Smell the fake flowers, Julia! I just can't get enough of this girl in jeggings!
