Cuckoo Clock, A Layout and A Tag!
By Kim Price

Has it been a month already? Time really gets away doesn't it! And with that it's my turn once again to share some Green Tara yummies and show you a little of what I have been up to these past few weeks.

I have had lots of fun altering an old cuckoo clock rescued from a junk shop. This piece really was in bad shape, and I picked it up for next to nothing (bargain!), but the housing was perfect for this sweet little project I had in mind for it. After pulling it apart I sealed it with an undercoat, added a layer of printed tissue paper and then painted it up using a soft feminine palette.

When it had dried I then went about adding lots of Green Tara flowers, some leaves and a touch of lace. I have also used some of the new wire cord around the opening where the clock face used to be! It reminds me a little of a birds nest, don't you think? So sweet.

I just love these little butterflies.
They add such a beautiful touch to a project.

A gorgeous mix of Green Tara flowers clustered together
 always look amazing.

My second project is a layout I created using a photograph of my eldest daughter when she was just four years old. She is almost 20 now but I remember taking this photo of her and the wizard when we were visiting Dreamworld. I just love the combination of yellow and purple shades and I had loads of fun creating this layout.

Using lots of Green Tara flowers and leaves I created a frame for my photo along with a gorgeous sequinned butterfly - and  I just couldn't help myself but to pop a tiny paper rose in the centre!

These purple velvet leaves are absolutely perfect combined with the rich
deep purple of the small Heirloom flower.

Yellow and purple roses to compliment a lilac Gardenia.

And a small batik sunset Aster.

And lastly I have created a vintage style tag using pink and burgundy hues. This looks absolutely stunning measuring 10cm x 19cm and featuring the large Laurel Silk and Organza bloom along with some Green Tara lace which I hand dyed with mist to match the palette of my tag.

In this photo you can see the lace peeking out from beneath the white Sakura flower.

A few burgundy velvet leaves and roses coordinate perfectly
with the rest of the tag.

NEW Release Flowers Have Arrived....

Hello everyone. Today we thought we might show you some of our
FANTASTIC new flowers.
We have lots of other NEW releases, but today we will
showcase some of our gorgeous fabric flowers
that arrived last week.

Firstly in the above photo we have the "Primular Flowers"
These are so pretty & measure about 4.5 cm.

Next up we have the "Lollipop Flowers" .
These are a kind of satin fabric with a little beaded
middle & measure about 4.5 cm.

These little lace ones are our "Pearl Flowers",
great colours & measure approximately 4 cm in diameter.

These are our "Satin Rosettes" & they also have a little
pearl centre. These measure 4.5 cm also.

These would have to be one of my favourites.
These are the "Wild Rose". This photo doesn't do
this flower justice. They are absolutely gorgeous.
They measure 7 cm & are a satin type of fabric.

Lastly we have our little "Christmas Vines" which have
a little sparkle to them & measure approximately 16 cm long.

There is so many more NEW release goodies to show you

A Christmas Canvas Plus One...
By Linda Thompson

"Christmas Reverse Canvas"

My lovely kids keep telling its almost Christmas time so I thought I would get us into the Christmas spirit. I'm not a gold person and I rarely follow the traditional Christmas colours but I'm trying to challenge myself. I must say creating this was so much fun and the idea I had in my head came together perfectly. This is so full with lots of Green Tara goodies.

This canvas is 27cm wide and 20cm tall and is and extra deep canvas. I covered the inside and front edges with a gold metallic 12x12 crinkle paper from Green Tara using modge podge, adding extra folds and creases around the front edges. Then I  painted the rest of the outside edges of the canvas in metallic gold paint but then wiped it down with a tissue leaving only a thin layer of colour. I also white washed the gold paper so it had a softer tone.

The gold cherubs ribbon was painted with a watered down white paint
to tone down the gold a little. Beautiful lace used as a garland
was inked in golds and green then sprayed with a little water
 to blend the colours.

Red Bead Garland  has been wrapped around the tree
to add more decoration.

Bead Garland in gold and green has been used to create hanging decorations from the roof, along with 3 flying deers from the reindeer garland that have had a little white paint added to them. I have used a white Xmas wreath and ruffled it up then added metallic gold paint to the tips of the ruffles. Cutting 2 trees from the Xmas tree ribbon I have added white paint to the edges and added them to the mantle for decorations.

The fire place was made from cardboard then bricks made with texture paste, a few sticks from the garden to make logs and a base plate made from a green paper from the Xmas art deco paper range. For the mantle I just used a couple of pieces of timber that are meant to be the corner supports that came with the canvas and painted them white.

Small gifts made from foam blocks and covered in Green Tara papers
and wrapped in Green Tara ribbons & bows.
Metallic gold trim added to the bottom of the canvas
 and slightly painted white.

A small cluster of flowers along the tree side of the canvas with wire
embellishments that have been slightly painted with white paint in
hearts and stars. A Christmas bouquet in gold added under the tree.

I took a Metal Swirl & then straightened it, & then twisted it around a
paintbrush in small pieces to create flower swirls

Adding a large cluster of flowers to the fire place side including flower sprays, skeleton leaves, paper leaves, roses, apple blossoms, gardenias, and silk flowers. I have painted metallic gold paint on all of the flowers petals and leaves.

Green Tara has a great range of Christmas themed ribbons & accessories,
these are just some of the ones I have used.

"Reverse Canvas"

This canvas is a tiny 6x6 size.
I covered the top and bottom half of the canvas with different papers
in blue and green tones to represent the sky and grass then lightly painted
over the paper with a watered down white paint.

Using a brick template I created a brick wall with texture paste and distress inks. The brick wall also follows on inside the canvas. Adding a small stamped bird cage.

Adding several pieces of chipboard, each one inked in several colours. The fence has had a treatment of white crackle paint. Using Green Tara wire cord I have twisted it around the fence and up the blossom tree to create a creeping vine adding flower soft and Green Tara roses
for flowers on the vine.

Adding a cluster of beautiful flowers & leaves from Green Tara, I wanted smaller leaves but only had large ones left so I cut a maple leaf into 3 smaller ones . The darker flowers have had their tips lightly inked in white to tone them down a touch.

With Green Tara's new velvet rose taking the limelight, these flowers are beautiful and soft with a velvet feel and look.
