Catching Up!

It has been awhile since I've gotten around to doing a bit of blogging and now I'm so far behind that the thought of catching up is quite overwhelming. So much has been happening, but I am hoping that life is calming down a bit and will leave me more time to do those things I enjoy...such as blogging. So here's a recap of a few things that have been going on in my life for the past several months.

Draper Temple Open House

Little Liam is Born
I became an aunt for the eleventh time.

WICKED!

For years I have been familiar with the music of Wicked and I couldn't wait to see the show. I especially enjoyed having the storyline come together. This is definitley my favorite musical and I can't wait to see it again.

Becoming a Home Owner

I finally did it! I moved out of my parent's basement and bought a place of my own. It was a big step and quite a stressful process, but all worth it in the end.

Moving Shower

Before I moved away, some of my neighbors threw me a Moving Shower. It was awesome and I received lots of wonderful things to help me start off in my new place. I was truly blessed.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

As it happened, when I moved, I moved into the new temple district of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. What a blessing that has been. I used to have a view of the temple from my bedroom window, but now that more homes have been built, my view was taken away. But all it takes is a walk out my doors and I can see it high on the mountain top.

Soon after moving into my new ward, I was asked to fulfill an assignment to help make assignments for the temple open house. Our stake had four different days we were assigned to help out with and I got to participate in three of those days. The first time I was an usher and it was really hard becasue I had to stand in one spot for four hours without talking to anyone. The next two times I helped with parking which was much better. I felt so blessed to be able to participate.

Fortune Fanatic

Tonight I had Chinese Food for dinner. I always enjoy a good meal of rice, chicken, and noodles, but my favorite part of eating Chinese has got to be the Fortune Cookie! I don't know why, but I always save my fortunes. I literally have a little canister filled with them. This past year I have gotten some really great fortunes, so I thought I would share them with everybody so that you can enjoy my exciting future as it begins to happen.
  • Listen these next few days to your friends to get answers you seek.
  • Watch for a stranger near you to soon become a friend.
  • Soon someone new coming into your life will become a very good friend.
  • Remember three months from this date. Good things are in store for you. (12/13/08)
  • You will soon gain something you have always wanted.
  • You will never need to worry about a steady income.
I don't know about you, but I'm thinking that great things are coming my way this year.

GTU3: Highlite & Sassy

This past week I had the opportunity to go and watch the filming of Good Things Utah at the ABC Utah Studio. This is the third time my voice has been heard on live TV while I sat in the audience and watched the morning talk show. My sister-in-law, Mindy, was on the show introducing a baby photo contest for Highlite Photography and Sassy Baby, both located at Gardner Village. My little niece Elle was also on the show, modeling some of the cute clothes at Sassy Baby. Her picture is currently hung on the walls at the Sassy Baby store. She is so cute and adorable.

And as a member of the guest audience, we were treated to premiere movie tickets to either Hotel for Dogs or Bride Wars. We went to Bride Wars and it was a lot of fun. I mean, who can pass up an opportunity for a free movie!
