West Coast USA Day 4

Goodbye Anaheim and hello Las Vegas!

Look at the change of landscapes as we approach the vast deserts and rocky mountains. It was the warmest and driest part of our trip.

We stopped by at Tanger factory outlets on the way to Las Vegas. Good quality brands were on huge discounts there! As usual, where there's shopping, there's china people. We experienced their haggling of branded buys in Europe, and it was no different in USA...

Nearing the Vegas Strip, spotting luxury sedans!
We had some good Thai food for dinner (thankfully)... Because the meals we had so far in our itinerary were fair or poor.
We concluded our day at Las Vegas with an introductory night tour to the nice cityscape :) The architecture of the Strip were mainly magnificent hotels bearing replicas of famous towns of the world, casinos, clubs, high-end malls. It felt really safe walking in the streets of Las Vegas too! Bright lights and absence of drunk or unruly locals made us feel comfortable strolling in the late night.

The hotel room was no less! Huge and very comfortable. We stayed in Monte Carlo along the Strip which had 3002 rooms! Wow!

West Coast USA Day 3

Our 2nd day in LA started with a city tour. Catching some sights of Hollywood in the far horizon... And it was off to Mann's Chinese Theatre and the walk of fame.

Next stop was Universal Studios Hollywood, which included a movie and TV studio covering 170 hectares. There was a studio tour which Singapore's US did not have. Word had it that Desperate Housewives casts were doing filming there, but we sadly did not have a glimpse of that =(

Another attraction not available in Singapore, Bart Simpsons virtual ride.
I sympathized with the actors that day because the weather turned from cool to HOT! what a bummer...
I heart curious george ;)

Horror attractions in preparation for Halloween. we visited the House-of-Horrors walk through and it was terrifying!! Totally spooked by the actors... *shudders*

Dinner was at Bubba Gump. Saw it in hong kong but didn't get to try. Quite tasty food.
A group pic and what we had.

West Coast USA Day 2

Our first stop in LA was California's Disney Land. We spent 13 hours here today! Was jet lagged and didn't get enough sleep. So we tried only a few rides and spent some considerable time getting caffeine doses and catching shut-eye at one of their coffee houses. Disney was extremely crowded as it was a Sunday. Nevertheless, it still hasn't lost it's magical touch :) I'm still in awe and impressed by the vision of walt Disney, the creative legacy he left behind, the technology and showcase that "dreams can all come true", & service excellence :)

It's Andrew's inaugural visit to Disney!

It was halloween season in the states!
A really thrilling free fall ride - Tower of Terror....

Our meals even had Mickey-essence :)

Beautiful Disney at night! We were really tired to the bone by nightfall...

Ended our night with a late supper takeout from Denny's. Delicious sandwich and rostis (they call it hash brown though)
