Damnit! My blogging streak has been marred quite muchly...I forgot to write about yesterday...although I was under the impression that I had...
RRRRRRRRggghh!
I GIve up!! no I don't....because that would mean YOU win...bastrages...
oho!! I did manage to OWN Bowen (aka Boner-man) hahahaha....In person yesterday night. Whereas before I had to content myself by driving him off the internet.
well...that + today can be summed up in one word: SHOPPING.
blegh
We went all the way to Sherway Gardens yesterday, that's in Etobicoke! Freakin' far! Blararararar...and it was crowded and there weren't really things on sale and we didn't buy a single thing. Seriously...
Today was...Yorkdale day! And though my 'friend' claims to have seen 10 hot girls in 10 minutes, I barely reached 5 in an hour. Definitely not a good day...(but that means I get to spend more time thinking about you. really it does! It's truuuuu!)
but other than the fact that I don't like walking around in malls or mall-crowds, today was a fun day out. (It's truuuu...again. yay!)
and I'm tired....and I wasn't hungry so I didn't get a pretzel....when will I get a pretzel I say? WHEN!?!?!?
Merry Christmas all! I endured a WHUPPING at monopoly today *grumble*...man I hate that game...rarrararara!!!Next time! Risk 2210 shall be my victory! OH-HO!!
but, a very good day. Got to spend time with TWO families opening and unwrapping gifts. That was great, thanks.
=)
Forgot to mention yesterday's Christmas Eve service at Unionville Alliance church, VERY fancy indeed...It was really modern and snazzy, but I miss the old, OLD days...when they had an old-school nativity scene, and had live animals and stuff. Because I remember that from when I was yay small. YAY SMALL INDEED!
However...it's been tiring with the driving around and chillaxing and so forth, so I think I shall call it a night. Mordor's Horde can rest easy from the sword of Gondor tonight!!! (yeah, I've been playing too much Battle for Middle Earth!)
have a good night, and a GREAT Christmas.
ooooh...Baptisms tomorrow!
man...traffic out there is the WROST...that's right Andy Shin...I still remember...
ugh..snow, traffic, parents refusing to let me drive for a WHOLE WEEK NOW...the TYRANNY CONTINUES!!...rarrrr!!
in further news, that RLG206 test which I said "I stand a good chance of getting perfect..."...well...I DID get perfect. Hahahaha, my first 100% in 3 years. w00t
(and in further news...I played filthy filthy DDR tonight...hahahaha j/k...it was fun. Cuz you're a nut!-bar. yeah, I attribute this streak to DONKEY KONGA...which you all must play, or else you have no soul)
YARRRR SNOW STORM = DEATH!!! death to warm and decent weather that is...
Party at the Shin-residence tonight...perhaps I'll make a blog halfway through it...hopefully I don't forget...which I probably will.
Andy really should learn some more words than his current vocabulary...I know...In addition to his monetary punishment...I'm going to PUNCH him everytime he uses his limited vocabulary.
oh...this whole DONE SCHOOL business is so very sweet.
reading a lot more, and went to the Eatonzzzz Centre (center?) today. well...I'll start that story from the beginning.
so my brother comes down to go to church on sunday, which is good thing because my original plan did not take into account the fact that church uptown was no longer at 1100...blegh to that.
he meet CCf fellowship, and they are united in their trash-talk of me! (YARRR! hate you all!!!) and so forth....brilliant idea comes up that night...why doesn't he stay with me downtown on monday night, and we greyhound his butt back into Laurier on tuesday night. (Ding! brilliant)
oh...re-reading my past posts...I must mention that I have purchased the VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE KEYBOARD!!! bwahhahaha. I''m still getting used to the feel of it all. Not as sensitive as my standard keyboard, but infinitely more clean and...less clackety. MEH. A tad on the expensive side of things ($31) but I only got it for that price because it was the display version...I guess $40 is a bit on the pricey side...
anyways...so my brother is taking a nap right now instead of studying for his economics exam on thursday...which he really should be doing.
(oh...maybe I should shave right now...then tomorrow morning I would just need to lightly get rid of stubble and get that haircut...hmmm...not such a bad idea after all...)
what a large post...but in the end...I really didn't say much.
don't you feel like a sucker for reading it? SUCKA!!!
(bwap! hi! hahahahah, didn't say much of relevance today. study hard! Or else! rraarrr!)
oh...I should've blogged sometime on friday when I finished my essay...well...it happens to be..uimmmm...1030 on friday morning.
solid! UGh...
well...then I played dodgeball later that day and every step made me feel like I was dizy and on the verge of GRIM DEATH ITSELF!!! GET AWAY FROM ME!!! RARRR!!!
uh...yeah...but NOW...
I AM DONE AND FREE
w00t indeed. My freedom tastes so good...kinda like chocolate cookies..mmm...
But I will be back tomorrow! (study hard! Do well! ...well..wake up in time!) hahahaha
tmaybe there will be cake for me (MAYBE...but not for you! BWahahah...well...maybe)
man...this laptop screen is CRAPPY...*grumble..* maybe I'll take a reading break soon...(and call you up later. RARRR!!!)
AHA! Not a full week late! But almost there...but the point is...that it is NOT late!
w00t!
Happy Birthday! (BWAP..err...yesterday)
mm...cheesecake (chomp chomp chomp)
Muchos Gracias for the CCF soup/clothing walk/run yesterday. I don't know WHAT it is...but whenever we go out to do social issues...it's RIDICULOUSLY cold...like last year...and probably the year before that. It's good...keeps us reminded of what other people have to feel, EVERY SINGLE DAY...
but man...it's an opening of the mind...now if only I can keep the lessons I learnt from yesterday...
Crepe places are such a rip! So much $$bling$$ for so little chomp-food! Oh well...it WAS really good...but...yarrr!! hehe
well...I promised (or threatened?) that I would start my blog off that way...so there it goes.
anyways...weekend...went uptown essentially...to finish Halo2 (and to chill with some goood chill buddy)...did that make non-numerical sense? TOO BAD FOR YOU! I've had enough of gender/number/case agreement!
Adjectives must agree with their nouns! Which must follow accordingly from the verb, which is the key to the sentence!
AAaaaaaRRRRGggggHHHHHHH
*ahem* I hate you GRK100. Curse your ORNERY behaviour! *pre-requisite my arse!* BLARRR!
anyways...so..HOt pot was fun (if not expensive...but it was) but it was still fun...Man...who would put MSG into their sauce? Or anywhere? KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY!??! nutbars.
OH MAN...done that Jesus essay...w00t! Seriously...some heavy work off my back...
and now...onto my classics presentation...oh yes...and my JOB...which PAYS ME MONEY...hahahaha, yeah...that's due soon as well.
blarrrgH!
so...the classics presentation is well on track, just need to write up the handout. Maybe start on the essay...hmmm...That would be a good idea. Start now, take a ginormous break (1-2 weeks?) and then go back to finish it up. w00t! hahahaha
okay then...class at 4...and then OC at night! Huzzah!
The week has been AMAZINGLY fun (yay!) with a good ol' fashioned library date (hahaha, we're such geeks!) OH YEAH. LIBRARY = FUN FOR ALL.
oh...NAMUN wants to throw an essay on me by the end of Dec week 1...I say. "EAT MY ASS!" hahahaha jokes.
Anyways...prayer meeting last night was good. Amen indeed!
OFf to rest and meditate before class...zzzzzz...
yes! Cake tonight! (unless you ate it all...you'd better not have! hahaha...I'll cake you!...)
Quite well-played indeeeed! OH goodness..that Chiachi...can't bring him anywhere. He's worse than me!
Anyways...it was an amazing night (thank you, you were very pretty. ĂĽber, if you will. MWAHAHAHA. Pay attention to the ĂĽmlaut. BWAHAHAHA)
well...Jesus week is almost upon us. Hahahaha, not only is my Jesus essay done..but it is Campus for Jesus week at U of T. Go here for more details. w00t!
so...Went to the library and then chilled out a bit tonight. Best way to begin the week, with some much missed, much appreciated chilling. (huzzah!)
Anyways...will get some sleep soon. After tidying up my clothes...
g'nite sw...uhh..yeah
:)
ummm...shopping for clothes is not so fun...trying on stuff makes me sleepy. And possibly hungry.
Oh yeah...men's cologne is an odd thing...I'm glad I don't have to shop for it. But I AM A MAN. Anyways...shut your faces! (but I just went shopping for it today)
Oh Exegesis! Matthew, you have given me a solid 80%...well met indeed.
Now Jesus, if only I could write up that essay.
and on another note...the battle of Leuctra has been well simulated...I can try again (ie...play some more!) mwahahaha. EPAMINONDAS TO VICTORY! and so forth...
Ooooh boy...serious birthday-action going on in November. What crapulence!
One party last night (Wayne's birthday party) and TWO today! (cereal Vicky + my brother)...man...madness indeed!
cranking out a 1pg Buddhist reflection paper now...trying to get it done and get some decent sleep (ha! Not bloody likely!) Ahhh whatever...
Jesus Essay is well underway...Research going well...should be able to start word-ing it up as of tomorrow and so forth.
w00t essay-organization. Blegh.
Wow...quite the week...Wednesday chill night + Friday dinner dance. INDEED. GREAT FUN COMING UP. That'll be a welcome relief (both nights) from my month of essay-ing.
= )
or...should I say
>= /
hahahaha man...that hasn't come up for so long.
(g'nite!...or morning. Whatever.)
Yay for lunch tomorrow! Or today...again...whatever.
(wish you were here...right...NOW! NOW!)
or...NOW!
SO MUCH FOOD TODAY!! Anyways...the first time in 3 years that Kowloon gave us a bonus. w00t bonus!!! Chilling times today...rarrrr!!
man...so good...
but so tired
resting today? S'posed to research for Jesus:The Essay. But played much Warhammer 40k...on my way to play that!
meh...will research and read tomorrow. Oh yah! bought a new "Shannara" Series book...maaan...I'm such a geek!
so yesterday I got an email back from my RLG 206 prof who I applied to for the work-study program, she'd be willing to hire me.
w00t (1)
And I also dropped by the Centre for Reformation and Rennaisance studies, they also had extended to me an invitation for their position.
w00t (2)
Today...during Buddhism (206) class, I decided to take myProf up on her offer, I'm now the editorial assistant to some newsletter for the Department of Religious studies w00t(3)
...Mid-term today...it was Greek history...curse you greeks and your constant backstabbing and betrayal of one another!!! But either way...it went fairly well, should be okay...woot? (4)
So...I'm at the library now...taking a break. I hate libraries. They make me sleep.
But whatever...I'm okay for the rest of this week (2 days)
AND...I've been playing as the Greeks for Rome:Total war...they're okay. But I should finish up the Scipii campaign first. That should be soon...
KABOOM!
Also...Dinner Dance coming up soon..uhhh...slightly over 2 weeks? HILARIOUS STUFF
(looking forward to it!...Especially...yeah...you know who you are...)
In other unrelated (or actually...very related) news...I ran into UGLY WANG SANG yesterday and SMELLY FOUNTAIN LIU (y'know...I was thinking...fountains are pretty)...And then I made Fontaine come over to my house...and then we played some GREEK:TOTAL WAR (hahaha, that's not the real name)...
So we went to study at Pratt with my FAVOURITE STUDY BUDDY...and having stupid Fontaine there as well reminded me so much of FAILURE FIRST YEAR...BWahahaeha...oh goodness...too bad we didn't BOTH have computers at the li"bore"-y. (hahaha)...
Anyways...so Fontaine was the reason I didn't go to GRK100 today. And he's probably at my house right now...eating my food and sleeping on my bed...I hate that guy. I hope he catches on fire. But not the rest of my room. JUST HIM.
/END!
(hi! you're right beside me! Huzzah!)
(confused? TOO DAMN BAD!)
oh well...rest of the week went by okay. And! No Greek work to hand in for tomorrow! YAY!
this weekend passed by really fast...
I guess time does fly by when you're having fun huh? What did I do sat? uhh...read and wrote...and researched. And spent some uber time out
:)
Today too...played some ultimate frisbee against chem eng...And then practiced with the Vic team after that...good fun. And still managed to get some good uber chill time!
yay!
Man...I had a stupid vegetarian dinner...*grumble*...I better eat like..a steak sometime this week...or something...hahaha
(psst...I miss you.)
coming week? Busy busy. Why am I so busy these days? Yarrr!
Uhh...realized that...there are TWO stories of Judas' death. What does that mean? Probably that there is ONE story of Judas' death, and the writers of the Gospel forgot, and mixed up some minor details.
Oral tradition.
and...Jesus PROBABLY said at one point during his three-year ministry. "Peter, I am hungry. Fetch me some food." But no one remembered it, because it was insignificant. JUST LIKE YOUR LIFE. (hur hur hur) In conclusion, Jesus was remembered for his important, one-liners.
Other things?
Q Gospel, Gospel of Thomas, Secret Gospel of Mark. DANGEROUS!
hahahaha
Wow...I haven't blogged in a week...crazy week...Been going through crazy GRK100...man, that course is like a taste of engineering. Three times a week, at 8:45 in the morning.
DANGEROUS!
So...what did go down last week? A lot of chilling...and some crazy Thanksgiving stuff.
1) Fellowship dinner on friday was nuts! So much food, and so many pizzas! Hahahaha, pilgrims didn't have pizza...
2) chilling on the weekend with Frogs...followed by a visit to my FAVOURITEST Scar-lem thug.
3) NEW CAR! Granted, it's just a civic...but it's better than the OLD civic.
huzzah!
anyways...greek midterm coming up on monday...but a chill weekend. So...I'm torn!
RRRRRR!
This is a combination blog! Of my ORIGINAL blog, and my re-made blog, to make up for stupid blogger's stupid-ness! STUPID!!!
What has happened since last blog?
Uhhm....I don't know when my last blog was now...due to stupid stupid BLOGGER! YARRR!
well...I can describe my weekend. Which brought me back uptown for a semi, and freezing freezing markham. Evidently, there is frost on the rooftops in markham now. Huzzah? BOOURNS!
And for a semi...oh! I was wandering around Chinatown looking for my haircut place on tuesday...eventually finding it. But then wandering into many a Mah-Jong Parlour in the process. Probably illegal...one of those "chinese family gathering clubs" or the like. Mad sketch!
Semi itself huh? Yarrr! I had to dress up all fancy-and so forth...being Mr. Fancy Pants if you will. The food was okay...it was at some crazy Ger-man place. The Blue Danube. Germans! ACHTUNG! and so forth...hahahaha. They had a baked potato! instead of...some squishy type of potato? BAH! anyways!
Dancing...and...watching her look all pretty. I can't dance...but that's okay.
= )
she really is nice. (despite her best efforts)
...
Life is good.
(despite U of T's best efforts to make it otherwise!)
man...Stupid Carthage...you just watch Hannibal! I shall plunder and burn your precious city! BWAHAHAHAHA!
anyways, good times for all...except for the greek 100 quizzes which are 0wnzing me up...and it only gets worse from here. So says the RLG coordinator...cursed Koine greek!
Uhh...lotsa great cool stuff going on with Fellowship. Feeling His presence at work!
REVIVAL! or as they call it in Russia...uhh...Rennaissance? Crazy Russians...
Why all you people born in September?!?!?!
TWO BIRTHDAY PARTIES...
BACK TO BACK! DAY-AFTER-DAY!
well met indeed. Quite the fun times. Quite the tiring times.
Quite the Greek-Quiz-Today-Failure times. Well, hopefully not failure. But a far drop from my uber-start of the Greek-year.
BONAGE! I HATE NOUNS! GO AWAY! COME BACK VERBS! COME BACK! Stupid person/place/things...NEVER! VERBS TO THE MAX!! MAXIMUM VERBAL-age...
Seriously...prayer meeting this morning was good to go to before quizzing it up. Even if I can only go for 1/2 hour...that's 1/2 hour of silence and calming before the explosion of greek-OWNAGE. DIE!!!
Man...evidently, things I don't write in my UT agenda...evidently they cease to be a matter of concern for me. Which is really bad. Either I've gotta get MORE agendas...or work on being better at remembering things. So...anyone with any free agendas...hand them here!
= )
anyways...lots to update....will start with...I guess...
from the beginning...
school has really been hectic. Even with my ridiculous 12 hours of school. Just so much reading and running about to do. BLEGH. HMPH! Slowly beginning to get into the swing of things though, getting adjusted and learning to not sleep. EVER. Jerkface UT...*grumble*
but...on the upside, the fellowshipping is starting to roar up, and we're slowly learning to open our eyes and minds and really worship. REALLY worship. Seriously...nearly 100 people at Frosh BBQ on the first friday of school, and then ridiculous amounts of people at Orientation Dinner which marked the beginning of the CCF-year. Looks like this year will be built on prayer and petition...or else we'll soon find ourselves swamped and burnt out. It seems even that I'm forgetting to pray, and depending on my (all too finite) energy to carry things out. DANGEROUS!!!
GUY...Unity is rolling on the ball...A part of me wonders what to do with the Catholics...because very much due to my studies, I feel a burden to reach out for interdenominational reconciliation (quite the long terms! Maybe they made it that long to discourage it's use? har har) anyways...I guess I'll pray about that and see where it leads me.
OH GOODNESS! CCF COMMITTEE...you guys slay me
= )
SLAIN!
oh man...that Buddhism class (RLG 206) is an absolute RIOT....online tutorials, 9x1page papers spread through the year = 45% of mark...NUTS! What a crazy class....maann...darren! You should've taken that with us all! *shake fist*
uhm...I'm really tired, and I gotta unpack my clothes.
helped brother move back into Laurier. To a new res. Cursed lack of students to help us move *grumble!!!*
MAN! BAY AND ST. MARY IS SO FREAKIN' FAR!!! (on the + side, I get a massive amount of exercise with the walking I do these days. Well, in addition to the other MASSIVE POSITIVE FROM THAT. HAHAHAHAHA. ha)
uhmm...chinese combat needs to start up soon. And I mean SOON. like..NOW!
well...looks like I didn't write about friday at all. I mean..thursday
BWAHAHAHa
okay okay
here we go...time to makeup for it, and get upstairs to watch some chinese movie action! And MAYBE play some MJ...
Friday..err..THURSDAY:
went chilling with Froggy Mc-Priestely to get ice-cream, which was upgraded because we previously were s'posed to get SHOES. FReakin' shoes! Actually! I FINALLY bought some new shoes on friday...I think...yeah. No. Yeah. Friday. Damn. I'm ahead of myself.
Okay...we bought ice cream and some yogurt-mousse thing...And then headed over to the as-of-yet-unkown Fontaine residence. That guy lives in some sort of secret hideout...scheming up his retarded tie-theft plans. Anyways...we went over there and made a mess. AND I took KOTOR from him for China John. Jackass. Which one? BOTH OF THEM!
anyways, drove to Scarlem afterwards and chilled there (wasn't shot! Yay!) and went home.
Friday? OH MAN! What a ridicurous day!
umm...chilled with the Chinese and Shin-anigans...and then went to get Pegster (that's right!) for another night of chilling.
and today? FOOD SHOPPING IT UP!
chomp chomp chomp
if someone in PARTICULAR reads this before sunday afternoon...I'm screwed. SCREWz0r3d!
Well...posting since I haven't posted for 3 days (what you say? Somebody set up us the bomb!)
hahaha
anyways, SAC is rolling in $dough$...mad $bling$ axction! Geez...they gave us $100 to go buy drinks...water and pop and stuff like that...for 4 days. SERIOUS MADNESS! We used up ~50...and only because we cabbed back from Dominion-z
And...7-11 hot dogs are NOT FOR EATING.
that is all (sweet action! someone else says "that is all" these days also!)
w00t!
Oh. Garway's surprise party was last week. By which I mean...on saturday. I didn't make it for the quasi-surprise, so I didn't get to see the breakdown of the cue-man system.
see. The cue-man is supposed to be the FIRST to say "SURPRISE!"thus, alerting everyone else to the presence of said-surprisee. But when the cue man fails, it causes a chain reaction of FAILURE AND DOOM hahahaha.
anyways...I'm here to say I don't like that blogger bar floating RIGHT ABOVE THIS POST.
obscuring today's date. And...other...not...nice...things.
whoops. I was s'posed to blog last night, but I was tired and had to scour my house for DUCT tape which my BRILLIANTfriends decided to give me. *grumble* stupid birthday tape. WHO DOES THAT?
and they taped my shoe (singular) to the wall.
how did this happen? After they stealthily attempted to tape a bottle of fruit punch (with aformentioned DUCK/duct tape) TO MY PORCH WINDOW.
went down in the morning with Kiddie Shin and china John to fix downtown stuff. And my engineering father did that...crazy engineers. DON'T BREAK THE WASHROOM DOOR AGAIN YOU CLOWNS!
for a few hours there...it was the 4 of us 18 Oxford crew. Much fun indeed.
umm....what next...
came back up and had dinner.
then those foolish duct-tape geniuses came around.
Oh...it would seem I've skipped out on the best parts of my birthday? TOO BAD!
(hi!)
amazing day.
The surprise party that came back and stabbed me in the EYE!
well met CCF and crew!
So...I thought the surprise party was dead, after I had been emailed about it by accident. Unbeknownst to me, a SECONDARY surprise was being prepared.
A bombardment of whipped cream! YARRR!
so...I clean that up...and we eat the cake...and then they decide...
LET'S THROW THE FROSTING AT HIM! AND ADD EXTRA GARBAGE! (mustard, bran flakes, flour!)...har har har...essentially, making MY FACE INTO A CAKE UNTO ITSELF!
*grumble* jerks.
and then dinner at the dirty dumpling place. Dirty? DIRTY GOOD AND DIRTY CHEAP!
w00t!
hahaha
anyways, much fun today.
MORE fun than it would have...if I had learnt to bcc-correctly.
;)
UGh...Had a hugeass post all typed up...and then clicked some retarded button on my browser that lost it all. ARGHHH
anyways...The Dirty South is indeed quite dirty, and humid, and mosquito infested. Ugh...so must dust and congestion...and...blegh. However! The city itself is quite a nice and pleasant change from toronto. More about that later.
Training was interesting...because they had our team (the only chinese team! Reppin' it up yo! hahahaha) and a whole wack of GLs (or gwai lo)s...And they had nice AC and A LOT OF WALKING FROM BUILDING TO BUILDING! freakin...well, it makes sense...gotta work off that FATTY FATTY MCFATTY American Food...serious man! They use some dirty grease and fat in their food. No surprise that they're all tubby mcChubb's down there. Hahahaha
But their training was brief...well...not brief. It just seemed that way to me because it was all very familiar due to the massive amounts of evangelistical training I've been receiving up here. But it's good to have it again, good refresher course right before throwing us into missions.
BUT! Those YWAM kids are seriously nuts...truly living by faith and faith alone. Many of these kids are not finished, or have NO degree in anything. Save for their missionary training, which is not recognized by academics, or seminaries for that part. A STARK contrast with the standard Chinese way of doing things. 2 of our team leaders were going back and 1 was finished, but we met a Kenyan-Irish guy who had NEVER went to post-secondary education, and was just...chilling out here missionary-ing it up. Serious living by faith.
I'll talk briefly about the MISSION part here...but for more jive you'd probably be best asking me about it. Cuz yeah. It's better in person! hahahaha
Anyways...so we were deployed to Nashville alongside another team from Hamilton, Ohio (oh geez, those GLs are nuts! Always fishing! Free time is fishing time for those guys! And for us? JITZ! hahaha. I've gotten a fair bit better at using the back guys...so...hopefully that'll get better yet in the coming year! w00t!)
OH man! Showers were OUTSIDE, and DETACHED from the main building...ugh...serious filthy action going on there! Maaaan...
but...the missionary work itself. Spent our time ministering to the homeless, or the impoverished. Serving at soup kitchens, putting on dramas in the urban core. (Nashville downtown is not very congested, nor is it smoggy. Score one for a lower population!)
Anyways...it's a short statement. In talking to the homeless, and the poor, I found people who were open to talk and listen without worries, without ulterior motives. I saw through the eyes of My Lord. I felt the heart of My Saviour. For those moments...it...could be said that I truly lived His life. So blessed...so...good!
Massive hotel and massive mall...that's the "nice" parts of nashville in essence...seriously! I spent 12 hours in a freakin' mall!! What the crap?!?!!?! UGHHH.
anyways, I'm tired from this day of computerized catch-up.
I'm off to rest my eyes...and maybe eat some jive!
well, I can post closer to my leaving time. But that takes too much to remember.
So I'll post here...
After 10+ years of piano... I'm still only mediocre and very technical. But...when you're playing something you really WANT to play, for someone you WANT to play for...it...just...feels better.
Just sayin'...y'know...that's all.
Even though I've been waiting the summer...and preparing for what...2 month? 3 months? well...40 days of given preparation from the Nashville folk...in addition to my own prep...
My point is. It's still hard to leave even though I've been preparing for this a lot. But s'ok...
Faith. Trust. Obedience.
That is all.
Catch y'all on the flip side!
(hahaha. shut up! I can use whatever phrases I want!)
damnit!...something really funny happened during the week but I forgot to blog. Thinking "I'll just do it later this week..."
ahhh crap.
So I'll start with today and work backwards.
Went downtown to go "shopping" with Peg today...no "dress" commenting for me! Because that never turns out well.
"Do you like this dress?"
"yes"
"You're just saying that!"
OR
"Do you like this dress?"
"[any other answer besides yes]"
"What?! Why not?! I hate you, jerkface!"
and so on and so forth. Fortunately, none of that today.
OH! Sushi inn today...mmm...I miss that place. I miss downtown. Mmmmmm...Yorkville area. With the Chapters and Indigo combination that causes so much class skippage...
AnD! We went to see...an...odd...odd...rendition of Shakespeare's As You Like It..with...odd singing and even odder costuming.
and working backwards throughout the week...
I had WORK to do! Not paid-work, still without a job (likely the theme for the remainder of summer) but had ministry work from CCF to do. As with ministry work, it is non-paid. But it did lighten the week and make it seem to go by faster
= )
OH!! I REMEMBERED WHAT HAPPENED!
I ran into HOJU (William Tang) at the Tim Horton's on Hwy 7 & McCowan. The kicker is this...that night (Thursday) was when Gizelle and I were preparing to make up the Bible study for the coming week of CCF (July 29th) and I was just talking about that with him.
AND HE HAD BEEN ASKING FAITH-SEEKING QUESTIONS!
that's nuts guy! Coincidence? Nay! Providence!
And that night was well-played indeed, with much thinking and questioning and just...chilling!
Onto the rest of the week which is only Tuesday. Where I ate sashimi and sushi at a CCF commitee meeting. Sushi 2x in a week? Never a bad idea!
Upcoming? Tomorrow is giant-Sunday...with baptisms for some, and massive-long nashville preparation meeting for others.
NAshville on tuesday...*sigh*...I've been looking forward to this trip this entire summer. Essentially what I mentally made my summer to be. Perhaps the reason for a half-assed job search...BUT! That's besides the point. It will be an awesome time, I can only pray that I'm open to what He wants to do down there through our team.
Evidently there'll be a CCF blog in the near future...which I guess I'll be regularly posting on.
however! I plan to post NON-angry thoughts there...(ie...I'll never post there)
har har
still no job. I think I got boned for the UT bookstore job. Damnit! Well...at least I've got that social contract work kinda lined up...well, it's in the process...
Hopefully that part-time work will be helpful...*shrug* or I'll go about finding another job once school starts. That's not such a bad idea. Even though I forsee being hit with waves of ministry work...
stupid school...getting in the way of everything else (hahahaha)
Midway through the week (well, almost. Evidently, it's only midway through the week when this day reaches mid-day. So T-3 hours for midweek)
and I don't really have much to say...Something inside me has given up on a summer job (I think he was dead a long time ago...)
so I should really focus my mind on ministry work and especially next week's Mission to Nashville...
too much rambley thought from me. I'm going to eat.
and so we went...and I get this weird weed salad (it wasn't that bad) but...okay...maybe I complain too much about it. Oh. It came packaged in some sort of circular format...
And then the salmon fillet...Which was unexpectedly small! WHAT THE CRAP!?!? COME ON! SALMON IS CHEAP! SO ARE YOU! BASTARDS! The salmon was pretty good, and the cous cous (is that it?) was also not bad. BUT STILL! SO SMALL!
and also...packaged in a circular format...
So I was like...Desert better be DAMN good! Salve the anger! Or else they'd be feeling some ROCK IN THE FACE ACTION! hahahaha
anyways, desert for me was some creme broulee thing (which I should have offered to share some of...but I forgot...instead, choosing to knock over her stupid dark chocolate cake instead...hahahaha. Well worth it)
anyways. It had caramel and strawberries all over the place. It's a good thing they have uber strawberry action. or else I would've been angry at the low caramel taste.
ALSO PACKED IN SOME SORT OF CIRCLE!
They should rename themselves...EL CIRCULAR...hahaha, or something like that.
Anyways...despite my anger. The place was pretty funktacular. The food was good.
Company made the night worthwhile, and saved that restaurant from an angry stone-throwing scene. Hahahaha
= )
Wow...looks like And-i Shin might be onto something, this book seems interesting. Perhaps something to pick up off the shelfs next time I'm getting books...
which is something I haven't hit up for a while...I mean seriously, I'm missing Survivor's Quest by Timothy Zahn!
ZAHN! The uber-man of Star Wars Expanded Universe himself, the guy who kicked off the entire EU project!! RRRRRRR!!!!
on another note, SUMMERLICIOUS! now that's gonna be some serious uber-action.
Okay, no more usage of the word uber (even though it IS an uber word...har har har)
Anyways, really good Church retreat over the weekend. Signs that revival might be hitting the Church...but again, it's the actions which need to speak louder than words and "promises"...So I guess we'll see how earnest the congregation is about that...
Long meeting today, but...all meetings are long. Even longer without my young apprentice there to liven things up. But, stuff happens...*meh*
Maaaan...no job...and worse of all...ROSI gave me an 82!! on summer school. FREAKIN' 82...so...I've applied to review my exam and see what the crap is going down here...there better have been some SERIOUS ADDITION ERROR! SERIOUS!
guy...Got the game Galactic Civilization...MOO2 is still better...and harder...going to play some of that right after taking a shower as a matter of fact
= )
so...our team gets a pair of chopsticks...and we are to trade it for something "bigger and/or better"
1st stop: University dude in his house, rummages around, gives us a freakin' computer keyboard. It works, and has internet buttons and everything! w00t!
2nd stop: confused chinese lady who spoke old-chinese-lady cantonese...
3rd stop: Crazy girls who are chopping vegetables. Door slammed in face.
4th stop: Sorority!! Lots of stuff, but the girl answering the door didn't know if she could give it away. They had a broken lamp! A BROKEN LAMP GUY! YO!!!
Polish Combat? We figured...they'd be like..."You give us money...we fight!"...we didn't go there.
5th stop: TALL black dude. "here's a bunch of chairs. Take one." we took a foldable chair and gave him the keyboard.
6th stop: Some lady on the street, with a SOFA in front of her house. "Sure, you can take it."
and just like that...I have moved beyond frustration.
doing devotions in the morning is serious ownage. SERIOUS.
SO GOOD.
It might fade...but for now, I am secure. I'm good.
this might not make sense...but...devotions today consisted of one of Paul' Epistles, to the Phillipians this time. It sent me looking to his letter to the Romans.
Back downtown...don't know for how long this time.
Still looking for a job...frustration...trust...faith...patience...
that's how it's supposed to go I guess...I'm still stuck on the first step. Slowly trying to move out.
And still...lots of ministry stuff to do. Why is there always so much to do for His kingdom!?! RRRRR! And...it's not "doing"...it's just being in his power and so forth.
man, I am sermonizing FAR TOO MUCH THESE DAYS...
anyways...Watching King Arthur. w00t!
He's ROMANESQUE. Very historical indeed!
and more than that...he's Clive Owen! The Driver! Of BMW film fame! double w00t!
man, too bad he can't drive a Beamer over those barbarians...VROOOOM! SMASH!
wow...it's almost lunch meeting time already. Crap!
Got back from a chillaxing (chillaxing from what?!?! All that stressful work!?!?) weekend up at Orillia.
What's in Orillia you might ask? Friggin' Casino Rama. That thing is monstrous. And I didn't spend a single dollar gambling. Take that gambling industry!
It was a great weekend though. G-R-E-A-T.
damnit. That's right. yo. Word.
Anyways, will probably not write more...so...TOO BAD!
hahahaha
Although that time at Milne park was pretty good, with the uber fireworks.
but it's also fun setting off your own fireworks. KABOOM! hahaha
Interesting weekend coming up.
alongside a rather packed week with Church and UT fellowship stuff.
looks like a busy month for me. Need to seek Him more...cuz there's 0 chance that I'll survive this month otherwise.
Really, I'll be drained and tired and generally roughed up. BUT! That's because I'll be relying on my own self.
/end sermon.
hahahaha...that's not what I usually blog about! You can talk to me about that stuff, this blog is not for self-reflection and medidations of God.
OR IS IT?!?!!?
DUN DUN!
anyways, fun times yesterday. Back up in Markham for now. Should get ready to bring my computer back up. With sexy sexy Warcraft III
oh baby...*droooooool*
hahahahaha
been playing a few games of Ring Wars lately, so good. I am MASTER of Rohan...seriously. You give me the riders of Rohan and I will show you defeat for Sauron.
so I'm studying for final exam (in...slightly over 12 hours) and I am bored, so I look at the job bank website...finding an ad for a "canvassing agent" for a charity.
They say "12 hourly for 25 hours..." so I'm thinking..."not bad, a salary pay. I'll go check it out." So I get up and out of my house (not that I'm so productive when I feel lazy anyways...) and what do I find?
INSTEAD of a salary, it is ENTIRELY commission...yet...FOR CHARITY. Confused yet? I was.
We go around canvassing for a charity. "For Kids' Sake." and for our work, we get 35% of the profit. IN CASH
sketch? AYE.
So...I'll see how it all goes down...maybe I have the opportunity to be a whistle-blower, bring their little illicit racket CRUMBLING DOWN!
or at the very least, earn some weird, weird money...
It's been a nice weekend. BUt I've got an exam on Tuesday to pay for all this relaxing.
And then...I should really hit the hardcore job searching so I can get SOME money in July and August.
Why? So I don't become a TOTAL lazy bum (arrgh! Too late!)
and so I can fill my days with something...although right now, my schedule is looking pretty packed as it is *shrug*
Probably have to drop dragonboat as it conflicts with too much stuff
=(
I was really looking forward to keeping up the practices and festivals with them. DAMNIT.
RRRRR.
So much Churchy and Fellowshipy stuff...and always on the same day. And even if it weren't, my week would just be too draining and tiring to keep this up for 2 freakin' months.
SUMMER! END! GET TO SCHOOL! (can't believe I'm saying this? WELL I AM!)
SO...EAT IT!
oh wait no...I'm the one that's got to study now...
So in fact...I am eating it.
It being a stupid pile of course notes and a slim (but stupid) textbook.
1st Race: 2:16 (something
2nd race...where I missed roll call for the boat because I was away from the team camp, because I was showing off my new paddle to the stupid engineers. We ended up 2:19
blegh...
and it was that time...that knocked us OUT of the University "A" Cup...the engineers got in! wtg! whatever man...
And lotsa fun times yesterday spent chilling with friends and HILARIOUSLY ODD person (s?) no..singular...
anyways...fun times, day 1.
oh yeah. I walked to the ferry (Queen's Quay) from my place (college and Spadina) I had originally intended to take a taxi wehn I got closer, but by the time I had wanted to take a taxi, I was almost there so I thought. "ah, screw it." and walked the rest of the way. w00t walking.
ub3r 1337
ONTO DAY 2 (which is better than day 1, only because I didn't need wake up at freakin' 0400 to race!
damn bastrids. Woke up at 6 instead.
First race, we were in the sandbar lane that screwed us for race 2 yesterday. So, we were thought to be the "worst" team in that heat. Western won that heat (in the best lane, number 4) but who came in second? WE DID! EAT IT!
So...uNiversity cup "b"...Not what we wanted, but we wanted to win at the very least. Show them all we DESERVE to be in the "A" finals.
We won. With at time of 2:19. (which incidentally, would've given us 3rd place in the "A" finals. But that's neither here nor there.)
In conclusion. UT Ownz University cup.
"B" cup
1: ViCrew
2: UT Mississauga
3: Wester
"A" cup
1: UC (Well met Wayne)
2: New College (very improved since last year...)
3: Engineers (yarrr! Well met indeed)
Anyways...Day 2 was fun. But so was day 1...
so...yeah..
great festival. Doubt any other ones will top it. But! Hardware! I want my own medal! (we got a trophy...but it's not MY trophy...and the top 3 in the "a" cup got medals! FOR EACH PERSON!)
curse my superficiality! hahahaha
this was a long blog...especially for someone who's got a sore throat and a runny nose AND perpetual nosebleeds now.
Man...Dboating tonight, ON THE ISLAND! what what?! Hope that goes well, I'm fairly excited (if only it didn't happen so late at night! boourns)
Oh my goodnesss...I'm up so freakin' early!
So...I am part of a tricky, stealthy Convocation plan! My friend (available on the left-hand bar as James Lau) is convocating. Today as it were. And he has guest passes, intended for his parents. This make sense so far.
However! The briliant Office of the Convocation (being a UT office) is stupid, and has forgotten to mail him said passes. Leaving him without passes. He would get them today and transfer them to his parents, however he has to do a rehearsal of some sort with other graduates. Either way, there is not enough adequate time for him to run to the office and get to his convocation. Or if there is, it would be ugly and messy.
Unlike me! Now...here comes the plan!
He is en route to my domicile downtown, where he will transfer his UToronto card to me and head to his rehearsal etc...Then I shall go to this Office, and I shall be James Lau! Obtaining these tricky guest passes, and making the drop to his parents.
STEALTHY! SUBTLE! SMOOTH! and so forth with the adjectives...
most...un...expected thing ever! And it's in no way shape or form due to my physical, which is actually in really good shape today.
But...since there were no lifejackets and paddles, we had to wait for other teams to leave their own boats to get them. And I was slow, because I was at the end of the "terminator" group line...and thus was slow getting to the boat! DAMNIT!
oh well...lotsa rest. Not tired AT ALL. Zero skill at partitioning energy, I should've put it all down on the water. No worries, that'll be next saturday.
crazy ass centre island!
0840 and 1030...what garbage. If any of you can make it that early, go for it. If not, don't sweat it.
Finals are on sunday at 1300...a much more reasonable time. So...if y'all want to come for that. That is cool with me. Yo.
Well, not tired today = more energy to clean and wash the house. Which WILL BE DONE.
For tomorrow.
Looking forward to.
huzzah anime day!
(I haven't had a declared anime day in many many months...not since I powered through Trigun)
Marco has a blog on what went down. He's pretty speedy at the getting home and blogging.
LIKE LIGHTNING! or as some of you know, my new favourite saying.
LIKE A LIGHTNING-FOX! BOOOYEAH!
anyways, much fun times for all.
Note to self: 2x Peggyses = 2x BEATINGS.
NO GOOD FOR ALL PARTIES INVOLVED (IE: ME)
Muchos fun, I really hope we can do this a few more times during this summer action. Possibleye when I haul my butt home to Markham in July-August-DIE-Sep...wait..not then.
hahaha, sneaky eh?
LIKE A STEALTHY NINJA!
So...it would seem that I am a fan of the similes.
LIKE A [I give up]
w00t! dboat in...8 hours. Well, 7 and a bit. Time to sleep it off!
sleep what off? the death! FOOL!
damnit! I need a new phone plan...friggin'...one that upgrades me to use more than just 200 minutes a month. I think I'm over that already. Which screws me...unless I count for May right now...either way. SCREWZ0r3d!
need to hit up that unlimited weeknights and weekends business soon...damnit!
I estimate my next phone bill to be around the $60 mark...up from my standard $25...
nope...parents aren't gonna be too pleased.
ugh...where is my visa bill?!?!? I need to freakin' clear all these damn-ass receipts from my wallet!
seriously some good anime music...*maaaaannn* anime music is SO GOOD!
and...I'm sore.
but! Ultimate dragonboat practice yesterday, in the warm water and warm air. POWERFUL INDEED.
hahaha, we were told that we are at our most powerful when we're doing our PRIDEFUL sectionals. w00t Terminators! So...we need to learn to channel that power into our races. Some serious improvement over our suckiness at Pickering
Monday...the beginning of a very hectic week (or so it would be appear)
let us peruse my week..
Monday: Bible study preparations - 1 person showed up
Tuesday: class 1300-1600, Bible study prep? Maybe in the morning...if people come. And then, Committee group from 5-7. and then MAYBE VCF from 7-? (but at least there's some sushi action! Oh man...but...if I have to make my own sushi...I'll make it...GO IN MY MOUTH! hahahaha)
Wednesday: Stupid job training (for a weird job thingy) from 0930-1630! what the CRAP!?! and then hardcore dragonboating from 1830-2100 (it better be hardcore...in the face of our crapiness in Pickering...)
Thursday: Class again 1300-1600. And then CCF at night. Ah I don't know what times this is all about.
First race for us...For most (including myself) first race ever.
That's still no excuse.
qualifying heat, we entered the University cup...And promptly threw everything out the window.
our University cup time was actually the worst of the whole festival...that's bull. Seriously...If we can't turn up the heat for a CHAMPIONSHIP race...what the frick are we doing anywhere?
3rd race for the chance for ANOTHER championship (divisional) and we turned it up...went REALLY REALLY well. At which point, I was extremely hyper and that carried over onto my phone conversation.
Divisional Championship, CRAP CRAP CRAP. Seriously. WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO PADDLE WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO THE LINE. Serious garbage. No more about that.
Coming home at night was much better than racing...since it didn't leave me sore...I lie...it did.
but it was a good experience festival. Still, the post-festival was more fun. Says I.
Seriously! that movie totally reminds me of the flaws of ALL MANKIND! (conquest, war, famine, DEATH) Truly...it was the coming of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse...!
Let me sum up that movie.
"yo guy, that's dope!"
"hype hype! Blinging"
"word, 'sup 'sup homie?"
"how you tryin' to play me yo?"
"you got served"
done and done! you just saved yourself some serious time by reading that synopsis!
ARgh! blogging about this makes me...SO ANGRY!
Angry enough to
a) warrant BOLD action!
b) NOT BE ABLE TO GO TO SLEEP! this is the 3rd time tonight that I've lost my sleepiness...NOT COOL
truly, the NADIR of my week. What does nadir mean? I'm sure Garway will post about it...or be happy to explain.
Oh those MCAT kiddies...studying hard. I hope I study hard when I write my LSAT...but I fear that my non-intention of accepting law will not hinder me...ahh...what say I? It'll MAD affect me! ZERO PRESSURE = ZERO GOOD = 0
inane...or rather..insane day of moving about tomorrow!
Travelling to Markham for an open ended interview for a contract job with disabled children (autism was the big one? eh?)...1030-1530...and maybe I'll return some jive to Big Mac at the ol' High Schoolery.
OHO! Saturday...my goodness...accompanying my brother when he visits Guelph to check out their University.
it'd be interesting if he goes there...I could visit him AND my brothers-in-Christ at the Guelph Fellowship next year. All about the touring around the province and encouraging the growth and what have you of different thing-dingers...fellowships! YEah...serious...I'll be like Paul! my exalted-yet-mortal not-quite-enemy (I jest. Paul is a good guy...seriously!)
oh my goodness...do I just blog more when I get more tired?
on an ending note. I hate cats...they do all sorts of stuff on the street. I need rocks handy to break up their "cat-parties..."
Seriously...He was working WONDERS at Trent (though...He truly must be the Lord of Love to feel for that run-down campus...)
Man...some serious praying and catching up and...just! oh...man...Ridiculous how much I have shifted to a prayer-centric Christian above the old doctrine/methodology which has been taken up by a fellowship I have called "Jerusalem."
However my blindness may cause myself and others to stumble, and that is the first thing I will probably pray for reconciliation over. Oh! I'm going to write my reconciliation letter to HK right now!
Anyways...silly eng sci BBQ...SOME SERIOUS BETRAYAL GOING ON!!! ARGH! MY BACK (well...betrayal in the good way, not the Judas-betraying-my-Lord-way)
=) Crazy kiddss.
Oh man...some small children are SO rude. But that's okay...patience above all for family...*RRGH. SO ANGRY*
Or maybe not!
okay!! serious! activate reconciliation mode, and...soon to be prayer
DAMNIT! CLASS TOMORROW! MUST...DO...READINGS!
Maybe zero sleep...not so cool.
Rough news that hair salon business. Hope they catch the crooks. And give them a GAS PEDAL (yeah...you know what this is! I haven't used this term in YEARS! YEARS!)
I was just reminded of this story...which really should have been posted on TUESDAY MAY 11th, because it recounts the events on MONDAY-TUESDAY MORNING
where I woke up at 0600 to GO TO THE FRIGGIN' AIRPORT
anyways...
so we arrive at the airport at around...0645, (flight time is 0900 This number will become important as we progress...)
0645: arrival at airport.
0700: find our way through the SEXY SEXY BRAND NEW AIRPORT 0730: get in line for boarding pass...big line..."oKay...it'll take us an hour to get the pass, then you have half an hour to get on the plane. No problem."
0830: finally reach the front of the line...BUT!!
"Sorry miss, the baggage limit is 70 pounds. For that size, you'll have to pay a lot extra."
How much did the bag weigh? FREAKING 150 POUNDS!
smooth...
We have to OPEN the bag, and take out 30 pounds of crap...we open it to find...FIVE BOXES OF CEREAL WHO BRINGS CEREAL BACK TO HONG KONG?!!? SERIOUSLY NOW!!!
And it's not flavour cereal...NO...ONE BOX IS BRAN FLAKES! RUN-OF-THE-MILL, NO TASTE BRAN FLAKES!!!
And so my Young Apprentice and I "taxed" some chips (I should've taxed some cookies or cereal as well...Or chips...or anything else of the FOUR COURSE MEAL IN HER LUGGAGE!)
anyways...my friend made it onto the plane...at about 0850? SMOOTH MOVE.
Okay...my anger has run out...FOR NOW! OH MAN...that story...makes me...
Went to some interviews uptown yesterday, one at Eglinton Community Center, the other at Crestwood (aka UTS day camp)
My hatred for UTS was too strong...and I walked out of that place...WITH MUCH ANGER
ANd then proceeded downtown at like...5-ish? To say bye to some crazy HK ccf-ers...who were RIGHTFULLY GOING BACK TO HONG KONG!!!
oho! but the story doesn't end there...no it does not! If only it had...I would be
a) less tired and b) LESS CRAZY
Instead...I waited around until friggin' 3 or 4 until the arrival of my Young Apprentice and the CCF Chair...and then let Hui stay over at my place.
BUT THERE'S MORE!
I was volunteered to help that ridiculous HK nut-bar GO TO THE AIRPORT! AT 0600
You like how that works? I DO NOT! MAKES ME...SOOOOO ANGRY!
So...conducted a Devotional Leader (or as CHina man calls it...Head Fundamentalist) meeting ON THE BUS/TRAIN BACK. SO TIRED. SO INCOHERENT. SWEET ACTION. HUR HUR!
HUR!
Anyways...summer is starting to get in gear...and things are starting to work...kinda?
eh? EH!!!
2 interviews tomorrow, 1 on Thursday...Hopefully they'll take me in despite my 10 week hiatus for Nashville Missions Trip.
If not...I'll have a hard time explaining my chillaxing at the Church and mini-Pastoring this summer...nggyaahhh...But I honestly don't know which "job" I'd rather have...the one that pays...or the one that paves the way for my future...
I know which job THEY'D rather I have...
But...Summer school is pretty much settled...so...that's one thing set for May and June.
Chilling with friends? They'd best move THEIR ASSES DOWN HERE TO CHILL...punks...
Some stuff settled...more stuff unsettled...SOME STUFF IS VERY PLEASANT! = )
Got back from Niagara Falls a few hours ago...just in time to watch the Friends Series Finale...Pretty good. All happy and tidied up. But moved out of the house...
I wonder if we'll be like that when moving out after 4th year?...
Anyways, Niagara Falls was CRAAAAAZY...so much walking...but yet SO MUCH GLUTTONY.
The only thing I did was walk, eat, and chill around...sounds like stuff I do here. CORRECT. BUT I DID THAT IN NIAGARA FALLS AND BUFFALO INSTEAD.
At any rate...now I'm tired and...less hungry after eating
but! I remember that LAST week (Last Tuesday) I saw the Dalai Lama at UT, receiving his honorary law degree.
Now...I'm not sure what that Kalachakra business is all about...but I'll let those hardcore prayer warriors repel those "evil-Buddhist-spirits"...That's not my cup of tea. Although it IS written.
it doesn't HAVE to be carried out...by me.
Anyways...back to good ol' Tenzin Gyatso...who actually looks a lot like ANDI SHIN but I bet you he doesn't have back problems, and is perpetually tired and hungry.
So...playing games...and reading books outside in the summer day. Is there more to life than this?
THE SORENESS AND PAIN OF DRAGONBOAT!
truely that does not fit into my usual lazy life...but it's there, interrupting everything else with a dull pain of DOOM.
damn guy, I've gotta meet those chumps outside Con Hall at ~8-ish...and the crazy thing is...our practice doesn't start till 10. WHere's the sense in that? It DUN MAKE THENTH! Pronounce that EXXXACTLY as it says...that's the only way it's going to work.
So, applying for summer jobs...there's this really interesting one which is run by Victoria Language Camps...it's at VIC COLLEGE! w00t w00t!
mad apply there, hoping that I'll get it. They provide full accomodations and everything too, pretty crazy! Whacky foreign students.
Another application which I gotta call in about is PRO-CHINESE! Chinese speaking powers are an ASSET
Finally, some discrimination I can live with
= )
Okay...gotta check on some apple-desert thingies that I tossed into the toaster oven.
I have commented about the legal ramifications of it...and some blurb about the mainstream Church. Now it's time for what I think.
Whilst there are arguments that this shouldn't go through...I don't think this will impact the Church too much. No one would dare to walk into the Church and label it "hate propoganda" since as we've pointed out, that's an infringement on religious rights and freedoms.
If this bill is aimed towards defending them from anti-gay attacks, slurs and other such graffiti...go for it.
As Christians, we must remember that gays ARE PEOPLE TOO. They are our neighbours, and our SECOND commandment is that we are called to LOVE THEM As we are called to love EVERYONE
I've struggled with that over the years, having made many many jokes about them. But I hope sincerely that I am more open minded, and realize that the person is not the flaw, the sin of homosexuality is. What Churches should be looking towards is the SIN ITSELF.
While realizing that EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN OUT THERE IS A SINNER. Last year before school started, I expressed to a friend doubts about Christians who were homosexual...There is now a sense that not only is that possible, it's quite commendable.
Having once realized our lives of sin, regardless of WHAT that sin is (because really...it doesn't matter in the end. My sin of lying is as great as a gay person's sin of homosexuality) the strength of a Christian is to seek JESUS! And his ability to forgive and overcome sin! WHAT WHAT?
True say...I fear that this is turning into a mini-sermon or rant...an so I'll leave it there. You guys can contact me for more Raymond ranting.
Well, at least this post wasn't just random blabberings...
I SHOULD'VE STARTED DAYS AGO INSTEAD OF PLAYING GAMES!!!
however...I did play a RELATED game, Praetorians...where I was a Roman Tribune in the days of the Republic, expanding and pushing the barbarian tribes out of Germanica and instituting the righteous Pax Romana!
And now, I'm writing about Generals in the dying days of the Late Roman Empire.
Maybe when exams are done I'll play some Caesar 3...
You can seriously set a clock by my blogs these days...
I've stopped earlier tonight because Brother (Sarah) and China John decided to go grocery shopping at Dominion 'S (there's actually no 'S' huh? did YOU know that? punk!)
Anyways. It's time for some anime action!
EVANGELION! Episode 18-20!
and then...back to War3 (I should just entitle this the 40 hours of warcraft. Though I DO hope to be playing some different games soon)...
But I WILL retire will CAesar 3...or maybe...war3.
and aimed at Lord of the Rings / Silmarillion modified maps.
So I was waiting to play, when I saw one of the players say...
"Gray plays a good Gondor."
which surprised me, seeing as how I have only been playing since Lent broke on Friday (1500)...
But...I do play a good Gondor/Rohan and also as any of the Noldor empires.
Hmm...the colours are Red/Blue and my main Noldors are Red/Blue...I can't quite remember what the Teal one is...but they have a base near the sea...
Quit tired. BUT! Only played Warcraft, much work still to be done. On AoM, Moo3, and perhaps retirement for the last 7 hours to the quiet countryside of the Roman Empire (Caesar3)...I'll govern the crap out of those civilians!
Oh man...I'm so tired...like some sorta...ahh...whatever.
Taking a break from gaming.
Gonna watch some anime.
hopefully sleep and wake up in time for dragonboat. 9am. Damn.
Oh man...that test went ohkay...but I wanted to write so much more!
I wrote essays about Christianity in Africa, Pentecostalism and Liberation Theology, and the oppressed Churches in Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Communist China and military coups in Latin America...
wait...I was SUPPOSED to write about Latin America...but I ran out of time. OH! IN MY EYE!
And my final essay about Modern Theologians...I nailed down Paul Tillich, Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer...and then continued...but WHOOPS! I had to go back and write about Soren Kierkegaard.
ARRRGH!
will get more angry later.
I HAVE A 2000 WORD ESSAY DUE TOMORROW BY 1700! I HAVE ZERO WORDS RIGHT NOW!
On the other hand, my Roman History essay (due I THOUGHT on April 8th...) has been moved to MY EXAM! APRIL 19th!
Is that victory or what? It means I only have 1 essay left before the end of school, and then I can study/essay/laze/slack my way to THE END OF 2nd YEAR!
The Lord has blessed me and seen fit to grant me the position of Male Devotional Leader for UTCCF, 2004-2005. I was honoured enough to run ALONGSIDE (not AGAINST) Chris Lee and Johnathan Chant, two seriously devoted brothers and followers of Christ.
I seek you my Lord, in everything I do, with every breath I have. My life is yours, it has always been that way.
Big props to Him without whom, nothing would be possible.
In another news...I MADE THE DRAGONBOAT TEAM!! WHAT?!?! WHAt?!?! OWN4G3!!
PREPRARE TO BE BURNT DOWN!
Amazing how He is moving, how He's putting people together and unifying the fellowship. I...don't really need to say much about it. Just look at the fellowship. The actions glow with Him! So...not much necessary to say.
BUT! Dragonboat! OH MY! Today was the final pool practice before cuts...and it could not have been any worse. I'm tired ass from yesterday morning, Captain Raph told me 1) to straighten my back on the pull and 2,3) to watch my timing on my recovery so I could match the pacers.
YARRR! IN MY EYE!
wait! there's more!
Also...after practice, I discover I left my hat and gloves in the change room BEFORE practice. So...they're HOPEFULLY at the lost and found, which I shall have to raid tomorrow because they were closed by the time we finished. DAMNIT!
OHO! ONE LAST THING! My gym bag zipper broke after practice as well! DAMNIT!
AH! BUT! I JUT FIXED IT! ONE VICTORY! and two stabs in the eye...
yarrr
Seriously guy...PHL 271 (Legal Philosophy) is so...blarrr!
Today's prof was good, but I still left after 2 hours. Honestly! a 3 hour class? I only went in the beginning of the term cuz I was all "keen"...but that has quite worn off.
