"THE MOVE/VACATION"

This is some of the crew that showed up for the big MOVE/VACATION.
Corbin, Scott, Shanna, Gary, Barb, Barbara & Bethann.
Also Darren, Danny and Brock.
Oh, Brooke and Greg too.
This is only the beginning and just a small portion of what will have to fit in the truck. They have been packing for weeks and there was well over 100 boxes, not to mention loads of furniture. Where did she manage to put all that stuff in that small apartment!

Thanks to many strapping young men the moving was made much easier for those of us who don't have the muscle to lift. I'm not seeing much muscle in this picture though. HA HA

Whats that steak running down your back?
Seriously it had to be one of the hottest days of the summer.
The smell was probably killing the neighbors and they were glad to see us finish and leave.

LOOK AT THAT!
IT ALL FIT WITH ROOM FOR BROOKE TO DO SOME MORE SHOPPING.
NOT!!!!!!!
I think Greg was relived to finally pull that door shut.

This is the night before we left, truck loaded, trailer on and ready to go.
We left about eight the next morning.
Our first stop was at Martins Cove and Independence Rock. It was a Sunday so things were pretty quiet, we took the time to go thru the Visitors Center and climb Independence Rock.

On top of Independence Rock.

Devils Gate at Martins Cove.

Mount Rushmore, what an awesome place. I am glad we stopped and stayed for the evening show.

I thought this was a cool shot of George Washington.

Are we in corn country or what? Brooke and I thought this would be out in a corn field, SURPRISE! There is actually a basketball court and a stage inside and of course things for tourist to spend their money on. I bought a cool South Dakota sweatshirt and of course a corn on the cob charm for my collection. The outside and parts of the inside are really decoarted with different parts from the corn plant. The pictures are really quite intricate and it was worth the stop to see. Its not far off the road so if you get to Mitchell, South Dakota take the time to stop.

Bethann found a boyfriend at the Corn Palace. We had a hard time draging her away from him.
Which one would you hate to meet in a dark alley?!!

Dinner at Famous Daves. We celebrated Barb and Gary's Anniversary and Greg's Birthday.

The night before we left we spent the night enjoying a fun dinner at Famous Daves and visiting Falls Park in Souix Falls. It is a beautiful park.

Saying Good-bye.
This was by far the hardest part of the trip. I think I cried a good portion of the way home.
South Dakota is a long way from home. They do have a nice, brand new apartment.

We were all pretty exhausted, but who could sleep with all the noise Bethann was making.
She has just a small snoring problem, NOT!

Whats Up!!
Would you say this is a BAD HAIR DAY!!

"THE BOYZ"

Trying to get five little boyz to sit still for a picture and all look at you and smile is impossible. This is as good as it gets. The picture on the wall behind them is a picture of the
Stripling Warriors.
Does this look like a picture of Stripling Warriors!
They are really sweet young boys but when you get them together, as Liz says,
"LET THE WILD ROMPUS BEGIN"

Where Are The Fighter Bombers

Hiram and Colby started talking about "FIGHTER BOMBERS" (where did that come from?) so we took them up to Hill Air Force Base to see the planes. They each got to put on a suit and sit in a mock plane. They had a great time. It gets quite loud when we have them altogether and they sort of took over the place.

Fountain/Benches

Gordon and I are really into rocks, just incase you couldn't tell. We added two rock benches and a bubbling fountain this summer. We enjoy breakfast on the back porch and listening to the water flow. I really had to have the large piece of pink granite so Gordon carried it about 1 1/2 miles. We collect rocks from different places we visit. What a strange hobby.
