Pulled Teeth: Thank Goodness NOT Tom Hanks Style

For about two months now Kevin has had a toothache, well actually he has had several teeth aching.
If I could think of one one thing that Kevin REALLY, REALLY doesn't like its a dentist. He says its something about having anything in his mouth that makes him feel like his throat is being blocked off (like the dentists hands, or gauze, or dentists tools or even that spit sucking thing that they use.)
Anyway I swear he was in so much pain that he was considering pulling a Tom Hanks ("Castaway") and knocking out his own teeth with a rock.
There's just something about the horrible mess that that would leave all over my kitchen floor that I have a serious problem with! I begged and begged him to call the doctor, any doctor and explain the situation to him and ask for a valium to take right before he goes to a dentist. Well he would have no part of that! He wanted to be "knocked out cold" as he put it. So the search began. I searched far and wide, I phoned everyone I could think of in an attempt to save my kitchen floor...I mean in an attempt to find a dentist that would indeed knock him out cold. Well I found two. So I called the first dentist who was able to get him in the very next day, amazing! Well once we got there and after an hour back in the room, the dentist informs Kevin that he would need two teeth pulled and one would need a root canal. At this point Kevin was elated, he seriously saw himself pain free and pictured me happy as ever that I wouldn't have to mop up the kitchen floor after all. Just then doc informs him that this visit is just a consultation, and oh by the way Mr.Waters, this process is going to take at least three visits, probably four, one to extract tooth number 1, one to extract tooth number 2 and possibly 2 more visits to complete the root canal. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! For any of you that know Kevin at a time like this he makes one of two choices, he either "BLOWS" or completely goes silent to keep from "BLOWING"!
Thank goodness he chose the high road and clammed up! Seems this dentist had over spent on his office decor (which was nicer than most homes I have seen in any "parade of homes" anywhere).
When Kevin asked why the work could not be done in one visit the doc informed him that not only would it take 4 hours (yep, you heard me right, 4 hours, unbelievable), he then went on to explain to Kevin that he wouldn't need to be knocked out for the root canal he would just "numb him up" for that. He then apparantly acting as if he really did care, went on to add "Kevin, you wouldn't want me to put you out for the root canal, it costs $250.00 each time (ya each time you come to my office for unnecessary appointments that could have been taken care of in 1 visit at one cost of $250.00, and if we did that how would I afford my humble office decor?) At this point the dentist was lucky not to have needed his dental assistant provide clean up material for his "kitchen floor" as Kevin was about to forget his own pain and inflict some serious pain on this young, apparently under educated, non-concerned for the patient, over spent on his office decor dentist.
WOW I just went back and read what I had wrote so far, seems Im a little angry over that whole thing. However there is a HAPPY ENDING to this story. I got home and phoned dentist #2. Talk about a complete opposite of what we had just been through. Dr. Bullock in St. George was awesome! They too got Kevin in the next day, but to Kevins surprise he was swept back to a room within minutes of entering the office. Once in the room as the nurse was giving Kevin an IV, the doctor was asking a few quick questions. Kevin remembers thinking HMMMM I wonder how long it will take for the medicine to...............ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Twenty minutes later the doctor came to the waiting room to give me a report. All had gone well and oh by the way Mrs. Waters we extracted all three teeth. All three teeth were beyond saving. HMMMM wasnt it just a day or two ago that a young fresh from dental school, can't control his decor fedish dentist had suggested a root canal for tooth #3, thus requiring a trip back to him in a few short months, probably at an increased price (office decor is never cheap) for service to have the poor, poor tooth extracted anyway.
Just as a quick note (ya right, proven from my previous quick version), as I was escorted back to see Kevin after 20 minutes of very impressive surgery, Kevin was just beginning to wake up. He saw me and said "Vhahets efinnelly va wa to do et!" Which interpreted from someone whom was not numb and not groggy means "Thats Definately The Way To Do It!"

New Listings and New Friends

My Newest Listing

I promised to post my new listings when I got them so here it is for your viewing pleasure. This home was built in 2007. The home is 1898 square feet, 3 bedroom, 2 full baths. It sits on a little over a half acre. It is nearly brand new. The lot is like a blank canvas, just waiting for someone to work their artistic magic on. It includes beautiful custom cabinets in the kitchen as well as great corian counter tops, large tile flooring, vaulted ceilings, great big front view windows, and a large two car attached garage. The master bedroom has a retreat (a great place for a love seat and/or recliner, to enjoy your favorite love story!) Part of the uniqueness of this home is that the frame is steel. A MUST see at a GREAT PRICE, $229,900.00

At this price it won't last long! For more info email me at
Now onto the New Friends portion of the post. I believe that eveything happens for a reason. I also believe that strangers come into your life for a reason. Sometimes just seeming to be in what appears to be the right place at what appears to be the right time is what is needed to meet these special people. Now the twist, I also believe that in order to meet certain friends we must endure some not so easy times. This is the case with DanielleTerrill. She and I are working on a deal together (her the listing agent, and myself representing the buyer.) This has been a rough one. Danielle has been more than your typical Real Estate Agent, she has certainly proven that she is indeed a PROFESSIONAL! Danielle has been, honest, patient, very accomidating, and extremely hard working. If this were to have been a quick and easy transaction, we probably would have had very little opportunity to spend the time together, with the common goal of representing our clients to the best of our abilities, and ultimately becoming friends.......THANK YOU DANIELLE for the opportunity to work with
such a great person (FRIEND) and professional!!!

Fair & Fountain Green

It seems like forever since Ive posted. I have been so busy, something I promised myself I wouldn't do (be so busy I couldn't find time to post) but Im afraid its only going to get worse. Its only three months til the Clark County Fair & Rodeo. I have procrastinated long enough, its time to get to work and see to it that the Fair actually happens this year.

Kevin and I along with all of our kids and my sisters family all spent this past weekend in Fountain Green Utah with my parents. We had a blast. We got there late Friday night and stayed up until 3:00 am visiting with Mom and Dad. On Saturday we got up and had my favorite breakfast "coffee cake". Im not sure if thats its official name or not but its the recipe on the bisquick box. YUMMMMEEEEE!!!

After breakfast we decided to go sledding/tubing, something I haven't done in many, many years. Mostly because I don't handle the cold very well. The next morning when I woke up and hurt like I haven't hurt in a long time, I realized that it will probably be many, many more years before I do it again. Kevin remembered having a bad experience several years ago, something to do with a tube, a crazy jump and a bruised tailbone. So he decided to be the picture taker and not attempt a repeat of that dreaded day. He got some great pictures. Saturday night we decided to go have dinner at the best little Italian Restaraunt in Mt. Pleasant. We got some great pictures there too. Now you might be wondering why I mention these great pictures and I haven't posted any of them.

The problem is that once we got home my Mom asked me to download the pictures I had taken during the weekend to her computer and when I did I hit the "move pictures to" button instead of the "copy pictures to" button and it wiped them all off of my card. I didn't realize it until I got home. So needless to say I have to wait to get my Mom to email those back to me so I can post them.

I did manage to snap a few right before we left so I am posting those. This one is of my Parents with Blayke and with Kristy and Johns new baby Jacob and his best BIG SISTER ever, MaKaylee.

What adorable kids!!

Sunday was an NFL playoff game between the Pitsburgh Steelers and the San Diego Chargers, which was awesome, but heres the problem, the Steelers are Kristy and Johns team and the Chargers happen to be my team. We are all so competative that we thought it would be best if we each headed to our respective hometowns to watch the game, and not attempt to stay at Mom and Dads and watch it together. That was a good call on my part because the Chargers lost and I didn't handle it very well. Kevin, Deryck and Brittany thought it was funny watching me in the car (on our way home) with the computer on my lap tuned into NFL.com and my blackberry in my hand, making sure I didn't miss any plays. My poor family had to not only listen to me cuss, but they had to endure my physical actions also. And mark my word, I did a fair share of "flipping out" each time the Steelers would score. Oh well maybe next year CHARGERS!!!

The Steelers Fans!!!

Thanks everyone for making it a GREAT WEEKEND!

Traditional New Years Party - Not So Traditional, And We Loved It!

This years New Years Bash was no let down! We started the party with John, Danila, Jaidyn, Louis, Oni and brand new Lana coming for the week. Then Kristine, Loren and Jacob showed up on Tuesday. On Wednesday Jestin, Taryn and Blayke came to stay for the weekend. Then to everyones surprise Ronda and Louie showed up late Wednesday night. As usual we stayed up way to late, played lots and lots of games, ate way to much food and laughed til it hurt! A couple of things this year followed tradition but most of the activities were new this year. And you know what? I think we may have created a few "new traditions".
Im starting my post with the traditional stuff like the ever so popular and very traditional sweet chex mix

and sparkling cider.

After much contemplation, we all decided that we were burnt out on turkey and ham so we decided to do Fettucini Alfredo, salad and garlic bread for our New Years Eve dinner.

Then obviously the traditional "junk"
Then it was into the Family Room for some serious "Rock Band".
We got so into it we almost missed the new year! We did however stop "rocking" long enough to toast 2009 with the sparkling cider!
Early Thursday morning, New Years Day, we got up and rode Kris and Lorens horses. The weather could not have been more beautiful! Amanda came by with her boys on Thursday. She says her boys love dogs. I had to catch this adorable picture of Kabe with Chomper (one of Kris and Lorens dogs). On Friday we all decided that there had been way to much cooking going on in Grandma and Grandpa's house so we decided to go to dinner in Mesquite. We went to "Playoffs" and had a great dinner and a great visit. After dinner we decided to go bowling. Kris says this was her first time bowling, ever. She either had begginers luck or she was lying about never bowling before because she got a pretty good score for a "first timer"! LOL Ronda said that Louie had a cute little "hop" that he does when he bowls so I attempted to get the "hop" in mid air in a picture. This is the best I could do. It may not be the hop, but this is pretty funny! These last few pictures from the weekend are thrown in just for the helk of it because I am a PROUD GRANDMA and love posting pictures of Blayke.
