Denver Weekend

This weekend we spent in Denver, visiting with Bevan, Charla and Gavin and with Seth, Melanie, Marisa and Skyler. What a fun weekend we had... I thought you might like some shots of the action.

You can't tell from this exactly, but Heath put a lip on each of the shelves so the pictures won't fall off. Also, Papa and Gordon (our neighbor) measured everything so beautifully and made them level. Also, the screws are into studs, so no more pulling out. They are also covered with cool little white plugs. We are going to remove the light and put in lighting so some will shine on the shelves and some down the staircase. Won't that be cool?! We will change the lattice on the staircase from brown to white to match. All in all, it is totally great.

Check out our wall!!! We finally got the wall above the stairs painted and we love it. The color of blue is so gorgeous--alot like the room in which we were married. Heath built the shelves and they are perfect!!! Now we are in the process of gathering pictures of the fam. I can't wait. Remember: 5x7 on the couples and Gavin (big), and 4x6 on the grands. Yay!!!

Mothers Day Gift-sorry slow posting

This was my Mother's Day Gift. Jamie Dee & Dennis worked up this plan to paint our entry-way, kitchen, and living room. Everything was painted white except two accent walls, one wall in our entry way on the East side was painted along with a wall in our living room on the west side. We did a two tone matte and gloss paint to create lines in the paint. It turned out wonderful!!! We also had a quite a few helpers; Shana came with her two little ones: Donovan & Kaleah, Darla and Rob, and Jamie & Rich. We were able to get it all done in a day. It was a big job, but it looked so beautiful when it was finished!! Thanks guys!! The pictures are mixed up a little but there are two towards the bottom showing the finished product.

There can be no doubt that I am the most blessed woman on earth. I have a sweet and loving husband, seventeen children, twentyone grandchildren, a private park with a comfortable, beautiful home, and the best job in the world which just got even better. Now instead of teaching Seminary I have been transferred to Institute. All summer long I have been basking in the added joys of an amazing library. I have learned many new things which has renewed my delight in study. Next week my students will come and the adventure will get even better. I can't wait. Pray for me.

A new grandson...oh so darling, It was a fun, fun few days to have Seth, Melanie, Marisa and Skyler come to visit us. Skyler reminds me so much of his daddy; very mellow and lovable. . . and did I mention how very hansome? Yes, he is very handsome and cuddly, too. Marisa was so much fun and kept me smiling and laughing and rock-swapping. Melanie and I did some hair coloring whilst Seth and Papa helped Heath on my shelves (see later entry) Melanie took some pictures I liked of us in front of the pretty blue-striped wall.

After so many snow storms, I am looking forward to spring and flowers and playing with grandchildren.

It made me think of this photo from last summer with Gavin and Donovan. Jamie planted these beautiful morning glories for me and my yard had blue blossoms everywhere!

Papa is really getting into the idea of having a garden for once. If it ever quits snowing, we'll do it.
