Cooler weather?

It's okay....don't worry!   The temperature has gotten a little cooler, but it's not going to snow.  I've just decided to make a Christmas card, that's all.  I bought all my bedding plants yesterday....so it better not!  I'll be heading out shortly to start planting.

My card today uses the January Pixie image from Pixie Dust Studio.   She was a dream to colour up, and again I used my Prismas.  The sentiment and the greenery are Darcie Stamps, part of a Christmas set I purchased last year on my travels, and I've added some stickles, gems and pearls for a little added festive look.

The framework was created using a Nellie Snellen die, for both the white cardstock and the silver card, thus providing some layers and allowing the DP to show through.  I've attached the image with foam tabs, to give a bit of dimension.  I quite like how this turned out, so I will probably try it again.

Well, off I go to the garden....after my coffee!  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.....enjoy it now, as you know I'll be wishing for rain this evening.  lol

Woof ! Woof !

Happy Friday everyone!  Here's wishing you all a great weekend with some fabulous weather....and if that isn't in the cards, hopefully you can find your nice comfy slippers, which are the best footwear for crafting!

For my card today, I've kept the colours all masculine.....hmmmm I wonder why?  Couldn't be that Father's Day is next weekend?  This little cutie, Man's Best Friend, is one of the newly released images from Just Inklined, and it was so nice and easy to colour.

I've kept the design fairly simple, staying with the male theme, using brown with black and blue for contrasts and embellishments.  You may note that I ran one of the layers through an embossing folder for a little bit of interest, and all edges have been inked with DI.

Thanks once again for visiting, and all of your wonderful comments!  Until next time.....keep smiling!

Woodland Beauty

Hello again!  I'm on a roll.....trying to get a few cards done up.  I'm using up some images that I coloured earlier, but which sat on my desk for a while when I ran out of ideas!  Does anyone else have this problem?

Today's card is for the Sassy Studio Design Challenge and is my GDT entry.  They've asked for no DP, so I've used the Dandelion Frame stamp from  Hero Arts to make a background, which I have then sponged with yellow and green DI.  The lovely little lady, Belle Honey has been coloured with Prismas, cut out in part with a Nellie Snellen die, and edged with gold stickles.

The idea for the layout came from this week's CAS sketch at Midnight Madness.  It's very simple, and lets the images do all of the work.

Bits of sparkle have been added to the background, as well as some tiny blue sparkly flowers for some contrast.  Note the butterfly, which I picked up on my travels and the bit of gold ribbon to break up the black.  The sentiment is a gold peel-off, perfect against the black.

My intention, was to create a woodland scene, darker to the outer edges while the lady image is captured in the light through the foliage.  Just call me crazy!  lol

Have yourself a wonderful day, and thanks so much for visiting.

Rock On!

Hello there everyone!  Summer's here, and I've nearly got all of my gardens ready to plant.  I have lots of perennials, but I still need my annuals to keep things colourful.

Today I'm leaving the flowery cards behind and going with a masculine theme.  This digi image is called Max, and can be found at The Stamping Boutique.  It's perfect for those Rock Band fanatics, and I have a few of them in my family!

For the layout, I've followed the sketch for this week's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity, making only a few changes.

The image is coloured with Prismas and OMS, then cut out with the help of a Nestie die.

The papers are all from my stash, and I would like to think that the brown embossed piece resembles a door, while the punched black horizontal piece....maybe a stage.  The corners of the striped DP has been rolled for a little interest, and the only embellishments are three brads and a yellow button.

The ticket sentiments are from Just Inklined, and can be found here.

A number of fun challenges today....some for a card for a male, some for song inspiration, and some just because!  Be sure to give them a look, as I'm sure you will find some great ideas and inspiration.  Have fun!!

Flower Power at Just Inklined

Hurray...it's the first Monday in June, and time for our monthly blog hop!  Today you're going to see lots of flowers....great inspiration for working in your garden, no?  Well maybe.....otherwise you can always make a card, no weeding or watering needed there!  If you have arrived here from Heidy's blog, you're on the right path!  Otherwise you may want to go back to the beginning and start with our wonderful hostess, at Debbie's blog.

Poppies are a favourite of mine, and while I'm still waiting on mine to bloom....colouring this image from Just Inklined was just the thing!  You can find this Oriental Poppy image here, and because it is digital, you can re-size it, as I have done, to put 3 poppies on your card!

I've coloured the images with Tombow markers, and added some little glass microbeads for the centres.  The corner embellishments were cut on my Silhouette, painted with bronze paint, and stamped with a crackle stamp....some black gems and a touch of Perfect Pearls give them a bit of glitter.  Just a few layers and then a script stamp on the card base and I'm done.

So now, continue on down the garden path to see what's next at the talented Jeni's blog.   Ooops, she is having a few computer problems, so until that gets sorted out, you can hop along to Jak's blog from here!   Hopefully you've had a grand old time, finding a few new fun ideas to inspire you.  Happy crafting, and have a wonderful day!

Monster Truck Madness

A quick post with something just little different.  How about a Monster Truck for the guys!  This was cut out on my Silhouette, then smushed around on my crafting sheet in a mixture or DI's spritzed with water.  I consider this a CAS card, as there are no embellishments (flowers just won't work! lol).

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend.  Mine was wonderful with lots of sunshine, visits with family and some nice walks.  The garden will just have to wait!

Patiently Waiting.....

What a lovely day we are having.....lots of sun and a wonderful breeze....the type of weather where you like to go and work in the garden.  I'm hoping by weekend I'll be ready for the garden centre, but my poppies are already established and now I'm just waiting for the blooms!   But in the meantime.......

How about a card, made with the Poppy Background stamp from Hero Arts.  For this stamping technique you apply a number of different DI to the stamp before you stamp and you also need to use a glossy cardstock.   A very simple card to make, and a different look everytime.  The sentiment is computer generated, printed directly on the card before adding the image and trims.  And of course, there has to be a butterfly!

I hope you too, are having a wonderful day, and get the opportunity to enjoy this season's pleasures.  Thanks for visiting and happy crafting.
