Way to Go !
My younger brother's birthday is coming up soon, and this image from the Best of Just Inklined 2012 CD Rom is just the ticket! They'll be thinking upon a special vacation soon.... a celebration as their youngest heads away to college...so I thought this might give them some ideas.
Coloured with copics, I've added some layers with cardstock and MME papers, and just a fancy brad for a little something extra.
I'm sure this will bring a smile, and hopefully it gave you one too!

Time to smell the flowers....soon I hope!
Good morning this fine Monday (hopefully!) I think spring has arrived, it just doesn't seem to know it's mind....it seems to be teasing us. Our grass is starting to green, so that's a good sign. I probably need to get out this week and pick up branches before it needs to be cut. It still needs to warm up more before I start on the gardens though.
While I'm waiting, I thought I would colour up this wonderful image from Just Inklined, titled Spring Bouquet. Working with my copics, I've tried to include all of the colours that I like to find in my garden. For the small white flowers, I've added some liquid applique for a bit of dimension.
I've cut shapes out of the two DP, to create a simple frame. The white designs and sentiment are rub-ons.....you know, those pretty embellishments purchased ages ago that have been forgotten and hidden away in a drawer!
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check through your stash.....it can almost feel like Christmas!

Sew Little Time....
Here's hoping today finds you safe and well, and may you find time to relax and unwind this weekend. I find crafting does that for me, so long as Mr Mojo sticks around.
For my card today, I've played with the colour purple, using it for the image, the DP, and some of the cardstock die cuts. My copics worked their magic on the image, and then I've used chalk to shade in the background.
To add to the sewing theme of the image, I made good use of a stitching stencil to add some faux stitching to the bottom of the card. The butterflies and corner dies have all been stamped with a bit of gold for added interest, while the white doily and floral die cut add a nice bit of contrast.
Supplies used:
Image from The Paper Shelter - Cute Dressmaker
Prima Paper - from the Fairy Flora collection
Cheery Lynn die - Exotic Butterfly Small
Whimsy die - Corner Dies set
Spellbinder die - Fantastic Flourish 1
Thanks for visiting, and may your day be beautiful and sunny! (Wishful thinking)
I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Natalie and Amy - #8 Monochromatic

Red and White....the colours of Canada's flag
Hello again. It's Thursday once again, so time for another challenge at Charisma Cardz. This week the theme is to use the colours of a country's flag.
I felt this was a good opportunity to try something different, as I would only be needing the two colours. Using the Hero Arts Elegant Weeds stamp, I've heat embossed with white embossing powder and then sponged over this with distress inks. Now these could be weeds, but to some of us who live in the country....they are wildflowers, and in their proper place just as beautiful.
A little a piece of lace and a sentiment to finish it off.....so elegant in a nice and easy way!

Where have all the flowers gone....
Do you remember that song, by Peter Paul and Mary? As we wait patiently (or not!) for the flowers to return, how about we give spring a boost. Today I've gone with a pretty Mother's Day card, which in Canada we celebrate in May.
Here in Ontario, we're just coming out of a winter storm with lots of freezing rain. For some people, that meant power outages, and for my parents...that meant water in their basement when the sump pump couldn't be activated. What a mess! I've looked at the forecast, and it would appear that spring is going to give it another try next week....oh, let's hope!
Poppies are one of my Mum's favourite flowers, as well as mine, and this is one of the newest images from Just Inklined titled 'Meadow Poppy'. Coloured up with copics, I added that little butterfly rub-on that I found in my stash.
Using both Labels Eight and Decorative Labels Eight from Spellbinders, and some pretty papers from MME....the result is a pretty lacy card, perfect for that special day. If you look close, you'll see a wee bit if script stamped on the background paper, and a couple of little bows where I inked the ribbon to match the colours of the paper.
Thanks for popping by, and let's hope you have a great weekend and maybe some better weather!

You Make Me Smile
Oh no...it looks like winter is coming back for another visit! Hopefully it won't stay long, and if you are experiencing the same....time for some crafting with this week's challenge at Charisma. This week we are looking for you to make a TAG. Nice and easy, and keeps your mind off of the weather.
Love this image from Redonkulous Designs, titled Funny Face. Don't we all have some little family members who love to do something like this when you snap a photo! My tag will also double as a book mark, and I'm thinking it could be a teacher's gift/card at the end of the year from one of my granddaughters. I know my granddaughter will think it is a hoot, and I'm hoping that teachers still have a sense of humour!
Once again I've coloured with copies, and some papers from MME.
So give it a try, and make up a tag, and perhaps you will win one of these delicious prizes from our wonderful sponsors.

Running into Spring
Well, it looks like spring has finally arrived! The sun is shining, the temperature's rising, and I think there is even a touch of green to the grass (though this may be wishful thinking). Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, and that's another sign....no? I do hope your weekend is looking good too!
So how about a card with spring in mind. Today I've used this wonderful image from Just Inklined, aptly named Football Crazy. Once it dries up a bit outside, all those energetic people who love to run and chase a ball will be at it again, while the rest of us will be more than happy to sit in the sidelines and watch!
Today I played with some kraft and black cardstock, pairing it up with some papers from MME. You will see some of that craft tape behind the image, and a piece of ribbon that I picked up somewhere in my travels. No dies this time, but I did make use of my corner punch from EK Success. As I have this in mind for one of the guys, just a couple of pieces of paper candi for embellishment.
I hope you enjoyed your visit, and with luck you picked up a bit of inspiration. Have a wonderful day!

Let's Use Acetate
Good morning all! I hope life is treating you good. April is now upon us, and hopefully spring is in the air. Today, we have something different for you, with this week's challenge at Charisma....to 'Use Acetate'. I definitely had to put my thinking cap on for this one, but actually it wasn't as difficult as I had expected. Be sure to check out the projects from the rest of the team, for inspiration and some wonderful ideas.
Something nice and easy for a change, with no colouring and no patterned paper! The butterflies have been stamped on the card and also on the acetate. After bending back the wings slightly, a little strip of tape adheres the body to the stamped card. I've used the Baroque Border and Fanciful Butterflies from Sweet Stamps and the classic colour combo of black and white.
Here you can see the dimensional effect that the acetate provides. I'm quite pleased with the effect.
So now it is your turn. This week we have some wonderful sponsors once again, with some lovely prizes up for grabs.
Thank you so much for visiting, and we do hope you can join in with us this week, as we would love to see what you can come up with. Good luck and have fun!

Say It With Flowers
Ta dah...we've made it to April! Surely spring will be along soon, and we have just the theme to whet your appetite with today's blog hop at Just Inklined. Karen J is our lovely hostess this month, starting off the hop and choosing the theme 'Say it with Flowers'.
If you have arrived here from Karen L's blog, then you're on the right track, otherwise you may want to start at the beginning...it would be such a shame to miss anything. Don't forget to leave your comments, to be in the running for one of our spot prizes!
So how about some pretty crocus, generally the first flower to show itself in my garden. This image is sure to brighten your day, and can be found here for purchase and download.
I've gone with my copics once again, cutting and matting with my Spellbinders Labels Two die. The dp is from the GCD Studios Ella Blue collection, and I've used Idea-Ology Tissue Tape for the top and bottom of the card. All accents are cut from a purple glitter paper. The butterflies use a Cheery Lynn die, and I've backed these with vellum. The sentiment uses a Whimsy die, which I have mounted on white and then dark brown for a shadow effect.
Well, I do hope I've given you a taste of spring, and now you need to head on over to Gaynor's blog to see what wonderful creation she has to share.
Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!
And now a few challenges for my card:
Dies to Die For - Spring |
2 Sisters Challenge - #137 Sparkle and Shine |
613 Avenue Create - #12 Flowers |
Fussy and Fancy - #85 Spring Days |
