June/July 2011 Sights and Stuff

We are reporting our activities of the past six weeks, starting with the most recent. We spent June 29 through July 6 in Southern California with our family and friends. This picture is of Zoey who goes 100 mph except when she is asleep. She got into bed with us in the early morning hours before we left. What an angel!
Here she is awake!

A sumptuous Korean dinner celebrating Laura's birthday.

Pool party and BBQ at Adam and Marilee's on the 4th of July!

Papa squirted whipped cream "worms" for the girls to eat.during dinner at Nicole and Ryan's...

Benjamin was baptized on July 2nd. He got a traditional "comforter from Nana...

...and received the Comforter when he was confirmed by Grandad.

We are all very proud of our special Ben!

He was baptized by his father.

OK--this section shows how dang cute our grandkids are. Raelynn needs to be in baby food commercials!

Oh my!

Grace riding her bike without hands! (It's a tricycle.)

Ben got a new bike for his 8th birthday.

"I am a princess."

Logan with bogey board.

Our beautiful Annie.

Garett, aka Hollywood!

Lovely Marin is growing up!

Avery. "Why shouldn't I stand on the kitchen counter? That's where the food is!"

Mid-June Greg toured the Formula 1 track being built near Austin, "The Circuit of the Americas.". This will be the new home of Formula 1 in the U.S., as well as many other racing events. Being built from scratch for over $200 million. The guy on the left is president of the local Porsche Club who arranged the tour. The woman is director of marketing and provided a great tour with lots of exciting information.

Looking from Turn 1 back to the paddock and pit area. Turn 1 will be a fairly steep uphill from the start/finish line, with a hairpin turn back down to Turn 2, etc. The course will be 3.6 miles long.

Fun at Easter Break

Our first stop after nails and Chiropractor was to see "A Time to Stand", a musical theater production of the story of Esther.
Amber as our beautiful Queen Esther (at only 15).  She sang even better than she looked!  She is really growing up love-r-ly.

Our other ladies.  I think that it so nice that they can all do this together.  They love it and really light up the stage

Nicole hugging Garett and all the other cousins who saw the show that night.

I think we were half of the audience, including Pat, Peri, Courtney from AZ and the C's.

Amber's favorite Grandma and Papa there to cheer her on.  How proud we were!

SCARY!

BEAUTY!
Our Easter party got rained on so we moved it inside to the church.  We had great food, lots of visiting and the Sherwoods to make it a grand time.

Still a bit shaky.  I had a fever and had fainted the night before, scaring Greg half to death.  Stayed home from church and was mostly my old self by the time we all got together.
We had an Easter egg hunt in one of the classrooms and it didn't take long for the little ones to figure out that there was candy in the eggs. Some others played games

(This is the only picture we have of Becca Moore-what a smart little one she is)

We left the party and checked into the Marriott Newport Beach Vacation Club.  Sherwoods's had three units and we had one in the same building.  Laura, Kevin and Zoey stayed with us Sunday and Monday nights.  Zoey eating breakfast on the patio, and getting ready for her Hollywood role at the pool.

Kevin took several of the less squimsh sailing in the harbor and beyond.  It was Taylor's 8th birthday, so she wanted to take her girl cousins on the boat together.  We had an ice cream cake after pizza to celebrate.

Jill, Dan and Raelynn came and spent most of the day Tuesday.  Don't you just love her rolls?
