Max & Dad Hike Mt. Charleston

They're off!
These 12 year old scouts are and their two leaders are headed off on a two day hike up Mt. Charleston! It is a 19 mile hike, which is one of the tallest mountains in South Western United States.

One of the oldest trees in the world. About 3000 years old.
On the way to the top!
 That's the peek behind them!
They made it to the top! 11,916 ft. way to go boys!
What an accomplishment!

And they're back! So happy they made it back safe!
Us parents back at home started getting pretty worried about these boys!
The parents asked Danny what time he thought he'd be back from the overnighter when they dropped off the boys the day before and Danny just threw out a time, which he said was 4:00. When 4:00 came and passed on Saturday without a word, it didn't concern us much. When 7:00 came and the sun was down without a word we started to get concerned. At 8:30 one of the boys' dad who was on the hike is a police officer called and said he was notifying metro police in the area and asked us to call search and rescue. At that point we kind of panicked! We heard from Sean the other leader on the hike at 9:30 and all was well! It just took longer than they thought and had no way to contact us.

Love those chunky cheeks and thighs!

Happy 14 years to Danny and I!

Family Night at the park.
Daisy has had a hard start in school this year. She's been crying about going and it's just not like her at all! So to help her get out the door in the morning, I tell her that I'll come meet her at school for lunch, which helps. After doing some investigating I found out Daisy is the only girl at her table (which is the big one), 2nd grade is a lot more serious, two teachers (splitting up their week and one is pretty strict) and last is the Friday Common Core Wonders Test is giving her a lot of anxiety.
Here we are at lunch with her, Walt and Hanna. (Max and Van have different lunch times).

They changed the seating arrangement after a month in a half into school and the strict teacher went on maternity leave in October and never came back. Daisy's back to her happy self again!

Clark is getting so BIG!

And Clark is officially potty trained!

Max and these handsome 12 year olds got to go to their first Priest and Beehives Church Dance!

Nap time for daddy and Jane.
Playing is so exhausting.
Hanna is such a big helper.
I was trying to wake you up, but you kept closing your eyes.
I love that I got this pic. of you smiling while sleeping.
You got so many cute little outfits, I've been having so much fun!

A Day at the Lake

Thanks to the Jolley's we had a blast at the lake!
I was so worried to bring Jane, but we cooled her off with damp towels and kept her in the shade.
All in all she did great!
This long hot dog raft was the highlight of the day!
All six of the kids were pulled on this cool raft!
Here's a great video of the kids on it.
