Went snowboarding at Dagmar Resorts today. It was a nice day, not extremely cold, except for the occasional harsh winds. Other than a few bruises, tired and a little pain today, it was very fun. I think I have improved on my snowboarding skills. There's still a lot to work on but I don't fall as often as I used to. I think I've went on the chair lift at least 5-6 times and the "Magic Carpet" conveyor belt for the bunny hill 5-6 times. However, there are two major things I have to work on for the next time: getting off the chairlift without falling and the heel lift, can't seem to lift my heel up when going down the hill.
Our day was unexpectedly cut short when an ex-coworker fell when he was going down the hill and hit his head. We had to get the ski patrol to step in and help out. The coworker was bought to the first aid center to be checked up. The ski patrol were a bit concerned and recommended us bringing him to the hospital. After further observation, they have decided to call an ambulance. The ski patrol put the coworker on a board with neck collar, a bunch of belts to keep him from moving. He was then loaded into the ambulance and taken to hospital. I almost got to ride in the ambulance as a translator. At the end, they thought that he's capable of answering questions and that no translator is needed. The doctors at the hospital checked him up and everything seems ok, and discharged him without further observations.
It was a bit of a scare, but at the end everything turned out alright.
