traditional home

Last July in NY I was part of a shoot for traditional home magazine. The article is about the new movement in floral design towards a more wild look. It was such an honor to be working with the ladies that I was with, they are some of my flower idols. The issue came out in February of this year, here is my arrangement in the spread.

You like my holding of a flower pot to cover my 7.5 month pregnant belly?

snow

I feel like everyone has some memory of the snow being as tall or taller than them when they were little.
Ivy is too little to remember this one, but she will have these pictures. The snow got a few inches deeper after this too!

january phone photo overload

January! Being a working mom is um, hard. January was crazy, and every month since then has gotten more intense. Its funny, because in January I thought that I was busy non-stop, but then I look at these photos and I am sitting around the house in my pajamas in most of them. Of course I was still taking care of ivy and working on my computer all day and all night...but it looks really nice and easy/lazy in these pics.

Ivy was three months old and really starting to get a personality. We had so much fun.
She starting laughing the day after Christmas and much of january was spent coaxing really forced sounding laughs out of her.

Im posting this picture mostly because my hair looks shiny and nice. Right after this is when I started all of my postpartum hair loss. boo hoo. i'm pretty much bald now.

i lover her luscious lips

I had to do flowers for an event where I made 88 centerpieces. I had to stay up and pull and all nighter to finish everything. I told david I would be home from the studio by midnight, he text messaged me at one and I said I'd be home at three. At three he text messaged me and I said I'd be home by 5. At five I sent him a message and was like "im just going to finish everything, might as well". I went home at 6, slept 20 minutes, woke up, showered, delivered these beasts in freezing rain (do you remember that day? it was crazy!) then I attended a conference all day, went to a party in the evening, and then went back the next morning to remake all of the arrangements to be repurposed for another purpose at the event.

we are lucky enough to have a billion friends who all had babies right around the time of ivy. bffs.

new years

We spent new years in oregon with nate and katie, but didn't even pull the camera out.
It was fun and refreshing, as always. happy 2013!
