BKK Day 2 & 3
Okay here it goes again, I lost track of where did we go on Day 2, 3 & 4. My photo diary below :) A little all jumbled up but oh wellllll...
The must-visit Platinum mall when you go bkk! They used to set up food stalls in the evening but it has all changed to retail stalls now. Jody bought 2 vintage clocks here, love it
Near our hotel @ On Nut BTS Station. Our hotel was only S$41 per night after GST? Pretty worth it but it's tad bit far from the town area. If you are on budget, or don't really bother about fancyful hotels since you're out shopping most of the time. Then you might want to consider Best Western Klassique Sukhumvit located at 1933 Sukhumvit Road, Phra Khanong. Few stations to the town area plus its walking distance to the night market & Tesco.
How can we ever miss Chachuchak on weekends! Remember to apply lots of sunblock and dress light! The sun is a KILLER. I used to be able to spend the whole day here but this time round, I left within half a day cos I couldn't take the heat :( Shopping here was a disappointment too
Love this shop in Chachuchak!
REGRET. Didn't buy this for Jody's new room cos it was too expensive. On a second thought, it's still way cheaper than in Singapore. Well, everything is right hahaha
Back to the hotel, shower& out we go to explore the famous Boat Noodles at Bangkok. Located at Victory Monument, the have quite a few Boat Noodles stall near the canal. Yeah stinky canal while you eat haha but an experience!
Saw many blogs mentioning that they order like 8 bowls? Wondered what's the portion like & there it is! I can finish it in 2 - 3 mouths lol. Jody& I ordered 4 bowls for a starter
Rose to the challenge& we had 10 bowls in total! Each of us had 5. Yes I eat like a man :(
Look out for this sign! It's the inner most restaurant
New found night market! Maybe I should go back& explore the next time. It's a wholeeeee stretch of stalls
Best tuk tuk. He was like '200 baht, I fetch you anywhere!' OK ONZ, ON NUT
'HAHAHHA too far 250 baht ok?' That was still the lowest amount compared to what the other tuk tuk drivers quoted us. We chatted through-out and he just made our night so carefree& happy :D
Yeh yeh everyone loves pinching my fat cheek :(
LOL @ Jody
I would love this car. It only cost 1/3 of what you can find in Singapore, so are the flats& much bigger. I wna stay in Bkk please. Good food, friendly people& low cost of living. Everything's perfect except the weather :O I get headaches every now & then.
Jody is 3/4 Thai so I guess I can live on this dream right? hehe or we can shift to his Thailand's house :)
Last meal before we headed back to the hotel& back to the airport:(
I is lasy so Jody had to push me. People were staring& laughing at me;/ But I'm tourist right hoho
Aim to go back to bkk 1 more time this year preaseeee
Flew J to Bkk for his birthday trip cum PeppyThread's sourcing trip. Thank you for being so supportive, celebrating your birthday by running errands with me and carrying all my shopping loots. Doesn't matter as long as we are together, overseas and happy right? Hehehe ♥
Sent my mum our photo and she was like 'what's wrong with Jody's eyes?' hahahaha
Love taking evening or morning flights, that's when the beautiful changes color gradually. Look at the little fluffy clouds!
This time round, we stayed in a hotel relatively far away from the town area. Can't remember the hotel name, since J booked it. Though it's pretty far, it's really cheap and clean. Plus there's a night market, Tesco, train station just 10 mins walk away or you could get the hotel tuk tuk to send you out.
My bestfriend
Breakfast or supper in the garden? Planned to chill at night with some drinks and cup noodles but we were dead beat every night by the time we reached the hotel
Planned was to visit Mr Jone's Orphanage as there were so many pretty pictures about this place, I knew I must visit the next time I visit Bkk. Left the address in the hotel = we were totally clueless as to where is the restaurant. The only info I could remember in my head was it's located at Thong Lor. J & I alighted, walk to and fro, literally to and fro for countless times because the locals kept directing us to different direction-.- until the smarty pants half thai boyfriend decided to borrow the local's mobile to check the exact address. WE WALKED 1 HOUR UNDER THE BLOODY HOT SUN
51/1 Thonglor Soi 13 | G Floor, Seen Space, Bangkok, Thailand
Knew he wouldn't have done this but he did it for me even when I wanted to give up finding it and have breakfast at some roadside stall
Yummmz. There were just too many choices to choose!
The cakes were really fluffy, cream was fresh and the passion sauce (or whatever you call that) was so good! It made me fell in love with Passion fruit! Not kidding
J claimed they have the nicest baked beans -.- (which he don't usually eat them except for this)
Yay us ♥ strength to continue our shopping journey
Stay tune to the next post! :)
