Such a beautiful story: Miners in Chile

Long time ooo, hope everyone is well. I wanted to share a story that im pretty sure almost everyone with media access knows about. This brought me to tears, and to hear the different miners giving glory to CHRIST was amazing.

“There are actually 34 of us,” the nineteen-year-old miner wrote in a letter sent up from the mine on Tuesday, "because God has never left us down here."

For my non U.S.A viewers, here is a short summary vid:

Exciting news, ways to give back, and more

 Why do i love this month so much, i have exactly four reasons. In this post though i will be discussing two of those.  One is that this is the month of my birthday, yaaaa September. Two, is that Lecrae's CD "REHAB" is coming out on sept. 28th. I could not be more excited!!!!

Check out a way to give back: A way to make a spiritual difference in Sudan while in the comfort of your home, i just donated, you can too:)

Lecrae will be going to Sudan the week his CD comes out, check out why and how you can help missionaries, on his blog: http://reachrecords.com/blog/show/REHAB-MISSION

 Your donation will be helping"Red Revolution Ministries and pastors from The Village church to train pastors and community leaders who are passionate about spreading the Gospel despite the current situation in Sudan."

 Here is a song he created this summer for a camp that i absolutely love, its not on the new CD though. Also included is a song from his new cd called: "Just like you."

Also Tomorrow according to Lecrae fb page:"

Trip Lee's "The Invasion (Hero)" will be the new joint of the day tomorrow on BET's 106 & Park. Tune in and tell a friend!"

Interesting! I absolutely dislike BET, but like sho Baraka said: "If we stay in the church they will call us religious. If we go on mtv and the saints think were trippin. If we try to hit the streets then we're thugs in sin. With those spectator you cant expect to win." So my prayer is that this video draws people to the direction of Christ, may Christ and only Christ be glorified through this.

Here is what Lecrae said to someone angry about this news: "........... now the reality is I am NOT promoting anything but the Gospel and bro Luke 15 finds Jesus in a very similar situation. Read it. Where would you have the Gospel go if not to where the sick (lustful, porn addicted, prideful, violent, homosexual) are? Would you prefer The BET audience be punished (legalism) or receive the same grace (I hope) you've received. (gospel)
It's not Hypocritical BET can be dangerous for us and we proceed in fear and caution (Jude) but none the less we proceed. Don't know where you'd like to see the Gospel go. Cleaner, better, healthier people only? We are in need. You
my friend as Ephesians 2 states ( I hope)  were just as dead in sin as the worst of us."

Well said Lecrae.

Here is the video that will be on BET:

My trip to Hong Kong and laos

Because school just began again for me, things have been a bit busy.

Why did i travel to Asia?
The answer is that i traveled to Asia, as a Christian teacher, to teach English to young students. It was a awesome experience. I learned so much about the Father, about humans, and about myself while at Hong Kong and Laos. I definitely grew spiritually because of what I learned in Asia. In Hong Kong, I got to interact with around 120 students; 21 of those students were mine. I spent so much time with the students and my team which allowed opportunities to develop deep relationships. How I miss my team and my students, but I know many of those relationship will be lifelong, thanks to technology.  “Love” was a very big theme this summer. From learning/practicing the love languages of each of my team member, understanding the father’s love for his children, to having countless opportunities to love on students/team members, “Love” played a very big role.

Here is a clip i recorded of my students while they were watching a movie. They are a bit camera shy!

Stayed tuned for pics from my trip.

Modern day Proverbs 31 Woman: Warrior Princess

What would a modern day Proverbs 31 women look and be like? Is it possible to be a proverbs 31 women? Do you know a Proverbs 31 women?

A wife of Noble character
I'm going to go through proverbs 31 in sections and give my thoughts on the modern version of those verses. Let me know if you agree or disagree. What do you think is the modern version of these verses?

10 [c] A wife of noble character who can find?
       She is worth far more than rubies.

 11 Her husband has full confidence in her
       and lacks nothing of value.

 12 She brings him good, not harm,
       all the days of her life.

 A women of God. Basically this women today would a trustworthy wife, a wife that will be there for her husband no matter what. She has no secret plans of her own or ulterior motive for marrying her husband . She is fully committed to her husband. She is his warrior princess.

13 She selects wool and flax
       and works with eager hands.

 14 She is like the merchant ships,
       bringing her food from afar.

 15 She gets up while it is still dark;
       she provides food for her family
       and portions for her servant girls.

She is not lazy, she is a very hard worker. You will be not find her sleeping in. She knows how to cook. Praise Jesus!!! And she is organized.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
       out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

 17 She sets about her work vigorously;
       her arms are strong for her tasks.

 18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
       and her lamp does not go out at night.

She is financially intelligent. She knows how to invest and handle money. She monitors her own investments, instead of giving that responsibility to someone else.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
       and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

 20 She opens her arms to the poor
       and extends her hands to the needy.

 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
       for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

 22 She makes coverings for her bed;
       she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

She knows how to work with her hands. She has a physical skill so that if she lost her office job today, the women would be sewing clothing, braiding hair, something. She has a back up plan.
She is giving. You may see her volunteering, donating time/money to help those in need. She is proactive instead of reactive. Oh and while she is doing all those things, she is also looking nice.

 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
       where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

 24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
       and supplies the merchants with sashes.

Behind every awesome man, is an awesome women. He can relax once in awhile because he knows his women can take care of things.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
       she can laugh at the days to come.

 26 She speaks with wisdom,
       and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

 27 She watches over the affairs of her household
       and does not eat the bread of idleness.

She is strong and wise. She speaks in love. She is alert and always looking for something to do.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
       her husband also, and he praises her:

 29 "Many women do noble things,
       but you surpass them all."

This women is beyond a stay-at-home momma. She does it all!!! effectively.  Her husband and children admire her, she is IT to them.

This women is perfect, and i pray that we, as women, strive to become more and more like her everyday. With God's help, we can!!!

One of my major spiritual struggles

So lately i have really been challenged over and over seeing if i truly love the way Christ loves, sometimes i have passed, but most of the time i have failed.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

The part about keeps no record of being wronged is my biggest struggle because i tend to not give people another chance once they have hurt me, talk about giving them multiple chances.

Ya this is a scripture verse that i need to memorized and store in my heart for everyday use.  I have really been working on seeing people the way God sees them instead of the way i see them.

My main reason for doing this post is because i watch this vid below and felt so convicted.

Question: Do you struggle with this verse and what do you do to obey this verse?

"Becoming the answer to our prayers"

I am currently reading Shane Claiborne's book: "Becoming the answer to our prayer"

 John Perkins "When you see someone who needs a handicap ramp, don't go pray for a ramp! Build them a ramp."

When we pray to God asking,"why don't you do something?" we hear gentle whisper respond, "i did do something. I made you." Prayer is important. Just as important is the call to become the answers to our prayers.

I am in deep reflection thinking about things i could have done something about but used prayer as an excuse.

Is the Emerging Church for Whites Only?

I love Sojourners because they are active with the word of God. I once attended a conference that was lead by this organization and it was such a blessing to see how practical this organization is with the word of God.
Here is an article that a sojo writer wrote that i find thought provoking and worth a good read. It's important you read the whole thing.

You may have to give them your email address in order to see the article, im not sure..but its free!!!

BET's sunday's best show: Lagos, Nigeria

Im not sure how i feel about this show. Well actually, i think the show is nice and it presents Nigeria in a positive light (which is always a good thing) but spiritually? hmmm. Basically, my hope is that the person that is selected to sing "christian" songs has also given their life over to Christ.

Here is the audition show...p.s. i absolutely dislike the Nigerian judge..lol
Let me know what you think?

Are you ready for a deep poem, a very deep poem? listen carefully to every word!

Spoken word artist "Blair Wingo" was very influencially in me also becoming a spoken word artist. God truely speaks through her. This was the very first poem i heard from her, listen carefully as God speaks through her.

A Shared Advantage

 Like 3:10-14

All humans have a shared responsibility of living right and doing what ought to be done. To do this, people must avoid dishonesty, self-centredness and greed. We should share what we have with those who do not have; be honest and fair in our vocations and be content with our earnings or incomes.
John's message demands some responses from us. He calls each of us to right living wherein we can affect our community positively and bring about expansion to God's kingdom. John was very frank and direct in his message. His message is still relevant to us and our generation.
What changes can you make in sharing what you have, doing your work honestly and diligently? Are you content with what you have?
