Wow, it's December

Time flies, oh how time flies
  • Some of you may have receieved an email from me about Caycen Tackett. Unfortunately, he passed away last Sunday. Please keep his family in your thoughts. He was 6 years old. Cancer is a horrible thing.
  • Thanksgiving was fine. We were in Jackson. If I remember the camera I will post pictures Josey took with it. They are actually fairly good.
  • I keep thinking harvest at home will get done, but it is a never ending process I think. I'm stalking progress of the fam through facebook and twitter. I know they are too busy to talk to me. Pray for some decent weather so the farmers can get their crops out.
  • I am headed to Nashville next week for a conference.
  • I host Bunco this week! Yippeee!
  • I made a few holiday treats on Saturday, just a few more to go.
  • We put our tree up yesterday. We cut a cedar. I didn't put out all my holiday decorations though.
Well, it's five o'clock, time to leave. Stay warm!

What a week!

It has been one busy week for me! Monday I had required customer service training, Tuesday morning I co-presented a workshop about the HIRE system at 8:00 am to some freshmen (a few were sleeping), Wednesday I have no idea what I did, Thursday I went to a jewelry party and we had a potluck in the office (wow did I eat too much), and today was the chili cook off for Student Affairs United Way. I worked it all morning. My salsa got 2nd place and my salad (Eileen's recipe) got 4th. I ate too much again, so I'm feeling pretty miserable right now. I bought a rock climbing adventure for 15 people for $50, so I think my office is going to utilize it and divide the cost among us. I'm excited about it.

Last Saturday I made a witch cake for the tailgate and Halloween. After we cleaned up the tailgate, we went to the Cameron's for a fire. They have an awesome fire pit Charles built over the summer. It was nice and relaxing. Sunday the painters were painting the barn and fences and Greg was gone, so I took Henry the horse for a walk and let him eat grass because I didn't know what else to do with him.

I think we are going to take it easy this weekend. Next Thursday I am taking a candy making class with Jessica in Guthrie. We are also doing some community service for the office. I am hosting Bunco next Friday night. It is going to be a country/western theme. Saturday is a home game again Texas Tech. So it will be a busy weekend!

I can't believe it is already November. Greg had his birthday on Monday. He turned the big 28! Brian and Paula celebrated their 6th anniversary on Sunday and Andy and Jessica will celebrate their first anniversary this Sunday.

Friday, October 23, 2009

Since I've lasted posted, things have been hectic for us. Greg and I celebrated our 2 year anniverary on Tuesday. We had an early celebration on the 10th. We went and bought new pillows, watched Couples Retreat and then had Pei Wei for dinner.

Last week was homecoming at OSU and we played Missouri! I caught a log of grief from people the whole week about who I was going to cheer for. My friend Lacey came down on Friday to visit and spend the weekend with us. Friday we went to walkaround (aka House Decs). The decs here are awesome. The details are amazing. I didn't do a good job of taking pictures of them this year, but below is an example of one. It's only 1/3 of the dec too. After walkaround we went to the Rusty Spur to hang out with friends and we saw the Kyle Bennett Band.

Saturday was a long day of tailgating. We saw Garth Brooks! He was one of the grand marshals of the parade. I didn't get a good picture so I am going to get one from someone else. I wore Missouri to the game with the exception of an orange scarf. Some OSU fans were nice and some were not. Oh well! It got cold towards the end of the game. I was really disappointed in the outcome of the game.

This week has been busy. Greg was gone for a few days (i.e. on our anniversary). The night he came home, I had a volleyball game. Yesterday I left work a little early, went home to bake a cake. I then went back to town to play Bunco (I had most wins and buncos! This never happens to me!) I then went home and decorated the cake. I went to bed around 1:45 a.m. after I finished the cake. The finished product is pictured below. It wasn't my best work.

Tonight I am cohosting a Lia Sophia jewelry party and then I have Bunco. The cake is for Bunco as tonight's theme is Strawberry Shortcake. Tomorrow I was suppose to run a 5k with Jess and Jeff, but I backed out on them. I fell the other day and banged my knee up and I haven't been training. Also I wanted to spend some time with Greg. Everyone is fighting illness and the weather turned cold here so I think it's going to be a long winter.

Oh, how I love fall!

The weather has cooled down, which is good and bad. Greg is not feeling so great right now because of the weather change and the crazy week/weekend we had.

Greg headed to Missouri last Tuesday for a break from work. It has been a stressful time for him. His great aunt Alberta died over the weekend, so he was home for the funeral and visitation. I flew home on Friday afternoon and he picked me up from the STL airport. We then drove to my parents for the night and took family pictures the next morning. It was a little chilly and I think everyone who gets sick is going to blame it on me. From there we headed to Holt's Summit for a baby shower for my good friend Lane. Greg went and hung out with her husband Charlie. We then headed back south to Jackson for the night. Sunday was Gracyn's baptism and then a lunch. We then headed west and picked up the other vehicle in Tulsa. It was a whirlwind of a weekend for us, full of lots of driving!

My work has picked up significantly as it is recruiting season for us. Homecoming is rapidly approaching! The parade is at 9:00 a.m. but the game isn't until 8:15 p.m. so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Greg bought some Mizzou shirts while in Missouri to wear to the game. I'm still not sure what exactly I'm going to wear. I'm going to try to have a combination of both teams.

I killed a scorpion in our house last week. I was NOT happy about this situation at all.

I think there is something in the water. We have gotten quite a few calls/text messages about our friends being pregnant. Congrats to those who have told us they are expecting and to those who have had their child!

What a week!

Last week was a crazy week for us. I had three career fairs, three days of interviews, Bunco, a concert, tailgating and a football game. I was one tired girl. John also came to visit, which was great. I have some pictures, so hopefully I will get them loaded sometime this week.

I'm really excited it's almost fall. I love the colors and I am really excited to go home for a few days and see the trees.

FOOTBALL!!

Guess where I'll be tomorrow!

In a sea of orange, cheering the Pokes to victory! (I hope). I'm really excited to start tailgating.

Go Tigers! I wish I could watch the MU IL game, but it is at the same time as ours. :(

Have a great weekend! I will!

What, It's almost September?

So, yes I am still alive. After being on vacation and getting back to work, things have been hectic.

A few quick updates:
  • FOOTBALL season is here! First game is Saturday at 2:30 against Georgia. We are planning our tailgating stragedy right now. We made a trip to the stadium to check our seats out. Hopefully I'll remember to bring my camera and take pictures in the sea of ORANGE!
  • I saw Pioneer Woman in person on Saturday. Some of you may have received the text message. We were at the Range Roundup in OKC. It was a good time and the evening became very interesting.
  • I'm eating Cocoa Roasted Almonds right now and they are pretty tasty. I didn't like them in the beginning but they are growing on me.
  • The John D. Hale Band is playing at the Wormy Dog Saloon in OKC on Sept. 18. If you are in the area you should come! Greg and his brother Brian grew up with John. They are based out of Jackson, MO. We plan on getting a hotel room and spending the night. The game on Saturday is at 6:00, so we will still have plenty of time to tailgate.
  • My parents are coming this weekend to visit. We are taking them to the Express, Limestone, and Pollard sales.
  • We are tentatively going to Denver in Jan. for the stock show with Mark and Amy. I'm pretty excited about it. I have only been once and it was in 2001 with the parents. I have booked us room and everything.
  • I'll be home for a short time (i.e. maybe two days) the first weekend of October for Lane's baby shower and hopefully Gracyn's baptism.
  • John is suppose to come visit mid-September! We have a lot planned for him.
  • Henry the horse inflicted a wound on me on Saturday. Showing cattle I was always told to never let go of the rope. With Henry, the rule is to let go I guess. So, I have a small rope burn on my hand.
  • Our office is freezing today, like 70 degrees or something. I have my socks on and blanket wrapped around me.
  • I left the windows open last night and when we woke up it was 66 degrees in the house and 53 degrees outside. I LOVE THIS WEATHER!
  • My office was decorated in cows when I returned from vacation. I have since herded them to one wall, branded, and ear tagged them. I'm still working on building fence and putting out water troughs. I haven't had time to work on it lately.
  • Hopefully when I'm done writing here I'll post some pictures, no guarantees though.
  • Home was WONDERFUL! We went to a church picnic, demolition derby, truck and tractor pull, the county fair, winery, Suhr's party, went out on the river in Andy and Jess's boat, and most importantly, saw our families!
Well, I better get back to work, happy Monday!

It's a GIRL!

Brian and Paula welcomed a baby girl this morning. She has been named Gracyn Lee and she weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces. I think all are doing well and Josey is excited to be a big sister.

Greg will get to see her Sunday and I'll get to see her on Thursday!

Our time is Missouri has been good so far.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Umm, is it Friday yet?

Wow! This has been a long week, but I don't know why. I had a team goal retreat yesterday but other than that I don't know where my week has gone!

We are going floating this weekend in Missouri. I'm really looking forward to it, except I'm afraid it's going to be cold. After a week and half of 100 degree plus weather, 80 degrees sounds chilly!

Busy week!

It's been a busy week for me. Greg left Sunday to go to Minnesota/South Dakota/Iowa for work. They are leaving this morning and he should be back tonight sometime. So, that means I've been baching it all week.

Sunday I cleaned house and man does it wear you out! I've been trying to sort through the things in each room as I clean, so we don't have so much extra stuff. I'm also known for stuffing things in closets so they are out of the way, which can create havoc later. I also caught Henry and walked him in the pasture behind our house. I brushed on him some too. This is a big step for me because Greg was gone and I did it all by myself.

Saturday we went to OKC and I looked at bicycles. I ended up buying two bicycles instead of one. Monday I took my bicycle for a spin. I thought I was going to die and not make it back home.

Tuesday I had a staff retreat. In the afternoon we played a game of basketball and went swimming. It was a lot of fun and we laughed a whole bunch. I work at such a wonderful place!

Yesterday seemed to fly by and I played tennis with my friend Amanda. Tonight is going to be my night off from exercise. My body is pretty sore right now. I might take a small bike ride if Greg gets home in time.

My tomato plants are not producing anything yet, but my pepper plants have really taken off! I'll be picking jalapenos pretty soon.

Below is a picture of our niece, Josey, taken at Grandma's. Isn't she adorable?

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July holiday. I had yesterday off from work so I did some laundry, mowed the yard, and did some cleaning. We went to a friend's party last night and didn't get home until early morning. Greg was playing for the Bocce ball tournament champion again this year. Needless to say, the alarm was going off when we walked in the door.

Henry, the horse, has returned from the trainer last weekend. Greg has ridden him a couple times around the house. Greg is really happy to have him back so he has something to do at night. His work really slows down about mid July so it works out well.

We had a date night last weekend. We went to the movies and had dinner. We went and watched "The Proposal" with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. I highly recommend it. It is not a "chick flick", and it is quite funny. Betty White was fantastic in it.

We went to Tulsa on Tuesday night and had dinner with Chad and Cathy Carr. They live in Florida now and work at University of Florida. We got to know them when they were at Mizzou. Cathy is originally from Oklahoma. It was great to catch up with them. We haven't seen them since last October and before that it was at their wedding in Sept. of 2007. Cathy is going to the conference in August in Champaign, IL so that is exciting.

Happy Anniversary to Mark and Amy. They will be married two years on July 7th.

We are headed to Missouri in less than a month. We are making a weekend trip there the middle of the month hopefully to go floating. Our group hasn't been floating since we all started getting married. We are going to Jackson for a few days and then will head north to my parents. We are going to the Marion County Junior Fair which is exciting to me. They don't have demolition derbies and truck and tractor pulls in Oklahoma. Tractor pulls here are garden tractors. Am I redneck or what? Greg is then going back to his parents while I head to my conference in IL. I'll go pick him up there and then we'll head back to Missouri. Hopefully our new little niece or nephew will arrive during this time so we can meet them! It's going to be busy!

So I had the Baby Flood/Watch of 2008, there's one in 2009 too! Paula is due August 6, Kylee is the end of July, Terri is in September, Lane is November, Amanda is December (I think). There may be more, but I can't think of them right now.

The first home football game is two months away!

I'm looking to buy a bicycle. I think we may go look at them today. Tonight we have another party to go to. We will also be watching fireworks.

Whew, I think that about covers it all in the life of the Meiers!

Cow Cake

So I made a cake the other day for work, for fun. The final result is below. The saying is an inside joke among those at work.

I finally won at Bunco last night. I was the biggest loser!

Tentatively we will are going to be home the last week of July. It is really hot here right now.

Hail

There was baseball to softball size hail today. Needless to say there were a lot of broken car and building windows. My car has additional hail damage. It's getting to the point where I may have to consider getting it fixed.

There is a new blog to check out if you love your Crock Pot. I'm going to try the fondue recipes!

I ache . . .

all over from my exercise yesterday. I bought the EA Active for Wii because it is suppose to be better than Wii Fit. Needless to say, I hurt from a 20 min workout. I'm going to start the 30 day challenge tonight, maybe.

Also, I despise Mondays. Who thought they were a good idea?

Playing catch up, again

I'm such a slacker when it comes to writing sometimes. To recap the last few weekes:
  • I bought some flowers at Lowe's the last two weekends and have planted them. I'm afraid I waited too long to plant some of my veggies from seed, so I may have to wait till fall to plant some of them. I do have 6 pepper plants in the ground and hopefully we get some tomato plants this weekend.
  • I really enjoyed Houston. It was a great experience for me and I met many other career services people from around the country. The weather was a little warm though!
  • I volunteered at Special Olympics last Friday with the office. I loved it and the athletes were awesome kids.
  • Mom came down on Friday and left Monday. It was really good to see her.
  • We went to Texas on Saturday for Tanya's wedding. It was a nice wedding and we had a good time.
  • Monday I took mom to works so she could see my office and meet my coworkers.
  • Not much has been happening this week except Greg has been gone most of it. He got home last night at 11 and left at 5:30 this morning. I hope to see him tomorrow night at some point. This is his really busy season, so we don't see each other very much. :(
  • We don't have any big plans for this weekend except sleeping. Greg has to work on Saturday, so I think I may go to Mulhall Days with Jess then.
  • It has been beautiful weather here, but of course it is suppose to rain all weekend.

Coming off the sugar high

Let me tell you, I love my co workers. I couldn't ask for a better place to work. Today we had a dessert party for our graduating graduate student worker. This equals lots of sweets and me being on a sugar high. The day started off with donuts. Donuts Friday has for some reason become donuts any day of the week. I think our office alone keeps Daylight Donuts in business. The sugar is wearing off and I'm going to need a nap, and soon.

Funny things that have occurred lately in the office include: Yesterday we were talking about "Dropping kids off" if you catch my drift. Which turned into everyone telling the sayings they had heard. It was hilarious. One of my favorite was "Taking the Browns to the SuperBowl". My standard is "dropping the kids off at the pool". If you have a funny one, feel free to share it in my comments section. We have a warped sense of humor. The all time favorite however was "Taking a Jessica, and wiping my Grantham" (In ode to Jessica, our coworker)

The other funny thing was Mindy took an aerobic pole dancing class weekend. I was unable to attend. This has turned into Jeff pretending doorframes and chairs are poles. He is taking his moves from Flashdance and Varsity Blues. The best part of this is only certain people know the story behind this and so half the office thinks Jeff is crazy. It's fantastic fun.

We also received a crazy letter yesterday. I don't even know where to begin in describing it but it is fantastic. It was a good hour of laughing. We got the second letter today and the lady is crazy. We did consult a lawyer spouse to see how we should handle the situation. My favorite to lines from the letters are "To start you will need a guard dog who can also train to herd cattle" and "The landowners are absentee owners, so feel free to go hunting on their ground. They'll never know."

It has not rained for almost an entire day. It is now really muggy outside.

I'm off to Houston/Sugar Land on Sunday and I'll fly back on Tuesday night. Hopefully I'll have some good stories to share when I get back. Greg and I are going to take a relaxing Saturday, I hope. Mom may come visit next weekend and go to Texas to a wedding with me! :)

Did I mention . . .

I bought season football tickets?

There are 8 home games this year. That's right EIGHT!!!!

Homecoming is against Missouri.

There is a football game every weekend in Sept.

We have a Thursday night game.

Texas plays here.

I'm so ready for tailgating.

Life is good, real good.

Work Related News

I am going on a trip to visit one of my companies in a few weeks. I am going to Sugar Land, Texas to visit their facilities with other career service professionals from around the country. I'm really excited about this trip. They are picking up the tab for the whole deal, so that makes it even better!

We had our student staff appreciation luncheon/party yesterday. It was a luau theme. It was fantastic. We made a pinata for the students in the shape of a pineapple. We also played Rock Band and Pictionary.

Tuesday we did a sales blitz in Tulsa to try to recruit new employers to use our services. It was a fun trip and my group was very successful.

Next week is finals week and graduation which is sad.

This weekend we are going to a consignment auction and the Angus Gathering sale and banquet. Last weekend was a couples shower and bachelorette party for my friend Tanya. She is getting married May 16 in Texas. So I'll be in Texas a lot that week. We had a good time and luckily the storms avoided us. The weather here has been pretty crazy the last week.

Have a great weekend!

Mushroom Hunting . . .

So, my coworkers officially think I'm crazy. Monday afternoon we volunteered at a golf tournament. The course was out of the city limits and is beautiful. As we were driving, I made the comment about hunting mushrooms in the woods while we were waiting on golfers. My 4 coworkers who were on the golf cart with me all thought I had been smoking mushrooms or something. They had NEVER heard of hunting mushrooms. As I tried to explain the concept, the situation did not improve. They thought it was funny it was "hunting" instead of looking. I was asked if they try to run away when you find them.

Today we are back in the office, so I googled morel mushrooms to show them what they looked like. In the process, I found a DVD on how to hunt mushrooms. Seriously, there is a DVD about this! Also you can buy a kit to cultivate your own morel mushroom garden. Anyway, I thought this was strange no one had ever heard of this before.

I talked to my parents last night and they were EATING freshly picked MUSHROOMS!

This made me miss Missouri some.

Fire Pictures

Fire pictures from April 9th near our house:

This was someone's home. You can still see the foundation. This was in the middle of the hottest part of the fire.

Pasture, look at the metal posts

Huge Cedar trees burned up. With the recent rain though, the pastures are starting to green up, so eventually it will all be green again, hopefully.

Family Feud Pictures

My team at OkACE - The HIRE Team:

Monty as the "host" - those who watch Family Feud everyday will understand this picture

The Champions!!!

We are Family . . . or We are the Champions - Take that OU!!!
More random work pictures to come . . . many will be Olan Mills style . .

Happy Monday!

I do not like Mondays. There's just something about them I don't really like. I survived the 5k on Saturday. We are already talking about actually training for them in the future. The weather was perfect and it was for a great cause.

I'm hoping to post pictures sometime but I keep forgetting the camera or in today's case I am working out of our downtown office so I didn't bring it. Maybe tomorrow if the day isn't too hectic.

Our team won the Family Feud game on Friday at OkACE conference. We got a trophy and $50 VISA gift card. AWESOME!!! Pictures later, I hope, they will be funny.

Last week was crazy with work events, but they all turned out great.

My diplomas are done, so I hope to pick them up this week. Maxine's done them, so I know they will be perfect.

It did storm on Saturday, but nothing too crazy. Hail and a small tornado southeast of us.

It's Monday and catch up stories

Since I've last posted the following things have happened:
  • We went to Missouri and winery hopped with my parents. We also went to church and saw my cousin get confirmed. And no, I do not have Jewish relatives, although my husband has told multiple people this. It was great to see family.
  • We are very blessed our home did not burn to the ground on Thursday. Those wildfires that were on the news? Yeah, one started 1.5 miles east of our house. So not cool. I had to drive 60 miles instead of 20 miles home because the highway AND interstate were closed for part of the day. We checked out the damage and thankfully most livestock, barns, and homes were saved in our neighborhood. However, it still smelled smoky this morning.
  • It rained on Sunday and Saturday night which was a welcomed relief. Hopefully all the smoldering piles are out.
  • Greg bought an Explorer on Friday night. Yes, we own 3 vehicles now.
  • Amanda and I took a shopping trip to buy supplies for Tanya and Joe's couple shower.
  • I am WALKING a 5k this weekend with my co workers. It is to "Remember the Ten" OSU people who perished in a plane crash 8 years ago.
  • I made a Playboy bunny cake for Easter lunch yesterday. We explained to the 6 year old it was the Easter bunny. Oh well. Greg was happy.
  • I am finally getting my diplomas and Greg's too framed. I should have them next week.
  • I got a haircut and plan on cutting it really short next month. Can't wait.
  • I've been going to Zumba class and it is a good time with Mindy.
  • My office got us free OSU baseball tickets for tomorrow so I'm going to the game.
  • It's Pink Lady Lunch tomorrow! :)
  • I read the entire Queen of Babble series in a week (it's only 3 books) by Meg Cabot.
  • Has anyone read Emily Giffen's books? I really like the covers, but I haven't read them.
  • Josey turned 3 years old yesterday!
That's it in a nutshell I think. I have a lot going on with work this week and Bunco twice next week.

Weekend trip to Missouri

We are headed to Missouri tomorrow for a quick visit. My cousin Rebecca (Becca) is getting confirmed in church on Sunday so are are going to that to see family. It is in Rolla so it will only be a 5-6 hour trip instead of 8 hours. We are hoping to go to some St. James wineries with mom and dad on Saturday and catch up. My aunt Kim and uncle Richard are also back from Arizona, so maybe they will drive down for a few hours so we can see them too.

Last weekend we went to Arkansas to a cattle sale. It was a good time to say the least. I CANNOT drink with the boys like I use to. We stayed with Stetter and it was great to see him and catch up. The weather was really crazy but living in Oklahoma, you get use to the rollercoaster weather. For example, yesterday the high was 50, today it is suppose to be 68 and tomorrow 80 then Sunday 50 or 60.

Angus (the mare) had her colt last weekend. It is a stud colt. Henry is actually friendly now and I can pet and brush him.

Yesterday was the last career fair for the spring semester and I am glad it is over! :)

I'm still alive, barely

The title refers to the weather yesterday and how I was 1.5 miles from home and then the storm hit. I was pretty close to a hook echo which is not cool. The radio guy said wind shear was near 100 mph and I'm just hanging out in my car along side the highway because I couldn't see crap due to the golf ball size hail pounding my car and the rain. Needless to say, my car has some damage, but I think it's pretty minimal. It wasn't raining at the 2 mile mark from home and then suddenly it was. It was not a good feeling. The weirdest part was suddenly the rain stopped, the sun was out and there wasn't a bit of wind. This weather continued on and off all night so I'm lacking in the sleep department.

D.C. was fantastic, I loved it!It seems like it was so long ago I was there.

not too much going on . . .

The weather cannot make up its mind if it wants to be cold or hot. It is going to be in the 70 & 80s for the next week or so, which is fantastic!

Greg went home for a week and made my Christmas present. He made a coat rack/hall tree out of horseshoes for me. It still needs to be painted but it is pretty awesome!

I had Bunco Thursday and Friday last week. I'm now in two groups. Hopefully they won't be back to back every month!

I'm heading to DC this weekend with our friend Ann. I'm really excited about the trip, but worried about my office. If someone takes a day off around here, your office is going to be terrorized. I don't really participate anymore for fear of retaliation, but I'm about the only one who hasn't been hit severely. I'm really worried, so I'm trying to lay low this week! We leave Friday and fly back on Monday. I've never been to DC so it will be fun!

I was suppose to show this weekend in an adult showmanship class, but it got cancelled. I was disappointed, but not really because it was really cold outside.

Weekly Update

The tornados did head to Stillwater. The sirens sounded and we spent some quality time in the basement of the Student Union. Fortuantely, none touched down near Stillwater, although a funnel was spotted in the sky.

I have read the Twilight series now. I finished book 4 on Monday night. It was good and now we can talk freely in the office since I have read them. The tornado allowed me to read quite a bit.

I went to the musical Footloose on Friday night at the Community Center with some girls from work. It was a good time, not a high class production, but still fun. Greg went to Carthage, Missouri with some friends that night to look at some horses.

Saturday night we went to a wedding in Guthrie. It was fun and the best part was they had a photo booth like you see in a mall. They had props and everything. You took 4 pictures and them it printed two copies. You kept one and put the other one in a scrapbook and wrote a message for the couple. It would have been fun to do that at our wedding, but I'm not sure all the pictures would be appropriate!

Sunday we went to the PBR finals in OKC with Bruce, Ann, Steve and Vicki, DeRon and his boys. We ate at Abuelo's and then headed over. It was a good time!

Greg bought me a beautifual bouquet of carnations for Valentine's Day. It is a beautiful arrangement and I hope to post a picture when I remember to bring my camera to work.

Greg saddled Henry and wanted to jump on him this weekend, but felt he should wait until another person with some horse experience was around to help, i.e. not me.

Recruiting season has started, yippee!

TORNADOS......

.....are headed to Stillwater today.

Publications

I'm getting closer and closer to submitting a couple of journal articles for publication. I met with my committee chair this morning to discuss the progress. I'm hoping to get them submitted by the end of the month.

I think we are going to an estate auction tomorrow. I'm hoping to find another dresser draw chest so I can rearrange a few things in the house.

The weather is BEAUTIFUL, but windy. I was hoping to walk at Boomer tonight, but no one is available for a walk. :( I might still go, but I'm afraid it might be getting dark by the time I got around.

I got my Girl Scout cookies!!!!

I might clean my car this weekend. It is really dirty after all the ice we had last week.

Have a great weekend!

I'm still here

just really busy and no time to post. Well, I would have had time if I had internet at home, but we don't.

I had two snow/ice days last week. Monday I left work at lunch to make it home, and then campus closed at 2:00. Tuesday and Wednesday campus was shut down, but I came to work on Wednesday because Thursday was our career fair. Friday kicked off our first day of interviews. By Friday night, all I wanted to do was sleep!

Greg spent the night on the interstate in the car trying to make it home last week. There was an accident and/or I-40 was shut down, so it wasn't good. He finally made it home at 9:00 am on Wednesday, he needed to sleep, so that was another reason I went to work.

We finally named the horse that is here. His name is O'Henry.

I'll try to post more often, but work is going to be hectic for a little while.

Did anyone watch Cheers?

We have an "assignment" for work. We were assigned a character from the show Cheers and we have to take something from their character and share it with the group. BUT - it has to be something customer oriented related or something we can implement as a team to improve our service to employers.

I drew Sam Malone. Can anyone help me out here????

Please???

How bout them Tigers?

We went to the basketball game last night. I wasn't sure who to cheer for, both teams had moments of horrible play. I wanted to leave early, but Greg wouldn't, and I'm glad. The game ended up being good in the last few minutes.

John came to visit two weekends ago and take his couch back. We went to a hockey game and had a good time.

It's career fair/recruiting season, Woo Hoo

I have Bunco tonight and I might be joining another Bunco group too.

Happy Birthday Kara!

It's my friend Kara's birthday today! Happy Birthday! I'm taking her out to dinner tonight.

I tried to load Christmas pictures, but Blogger wouldn't let me. :(

I got my haircut yesterday. It looks super cute. Hopefully I can recreate the look tomorrow.

Mark and Amy brought me back on Saturday. We gave them a quick tour of somethings around here.

I got to get back to work. I'll try to load the pictures tomorrow.

PS - I broke down and bought Plum Spooky yesterday at Hastings. I was looking for a calendar for Greg and it called my name. However, I haven't read very much of it yet.

Our horse escaped yesterday. Luckily our neighbor put him back and he didn't make it to the highway. Of course Greg is traveling so I'm going to be taking care of him. Great, just great. Greg told me how to get him back into his pen in case he escapes again. I cross my fingers he is there when I get home tonight.
