Here's the story . . . Greg heard of a potential opening in HR at a local bank in Jackson. I submitted my resume and set up an interview, conveniently the Friday of John's wedding in Jackson the last weekend of February. I interviewed on Friday morning and had the job offer on Friday afternoon. We celebrated John and Teresa's wedding and then headed back to Oklahoma to break the news and start packing. My last day at OSU was March 16. My mom flew down to help keep Tyler while we loaded the trailer on Saturday and to ride with me on the trip. We had a trailer load of stuff! We were Missouri bound on Sunday, March 18.
We are living in Greg's grandparents house. It had been vacant for a few years, but we still full of things. Eileen, Paula, and Aunt Martha worked like crazy so we could at least move into the upstairs and get the carpets clean. The house is interesting. Greg's grandpa built it, and he was a bit of an inventor and jack of all trades. This means there are some unique aspects to our home. It's fun to hear Greg's stories about what he remembers as a kid in the house.
I started my job on March 26 and Greg went back to Oklahoma. We started Tyler in a daycare here, but I was not clicking with the people or facility. So I found an in home daycare and we could not be happier. Tyler loves going there and he learns so much.
Greg's last day with TransOva was May 25. So we lived apart for 2 months and let me tell you, single parenting is HARD! I have so much respect for those who are single parents. Brian, Paula, and I headed to Oklahoma May 18 with the stock trailer to get the rest of our stuff and to bring Greg's truck back. We also attended a wedding that weekend. And then the alternator went out on Greg's truck in Claremore. Luckily, we found an OReilly's with the right alternator, and we had tools in the trailer. Brian was able to switch them out. Thank gosh we traveled together and Brian could fix it.
Exciting things are I have a HUGE garden with lots of plants. I'm harvesting peppers, tomatoes, green beans, garlic, onions, and lettuce right now.We inherited a dog with the house, Hippie is stupid, literally. She is going to have to find a new home. We did bring our cats with us, Patches and Stormy. Stormy is still around but we haven't seen Patches in a long time.
There are some snakes around here, bleh. One 5 foot snake electrocuted itself on the electric fence. I saw one yesterday that was at least 4 foot. I almost ran over it with the 4wheeler.
Tyler has so much fun with Josey and Gracyn. Gracyn and him are buddies. No matter how much I miss Oklahoma and my friends there, seeing Tyler with his cousins and checking cows with Grandpa, makes it all worth it. Tyler loves to be outside and talking to the cows, riding in the truck, on the 4 wheeler, and playing in the dirt. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing and funny little guy.
That some what catches things up, we have done lots of other things in between, but basically I got a job and moved three weeks later to Missouri. Tyler and I have been here for 3 months almost now.
