Alright, alright. I shall cease sounding like Paris "I like, cry when I hear my album." Hilton, but you can't really blame me since I just heard her horrifyingly catchy new single on the radio. I think that song (I can't remember the title) and Stars Are Blind are the only nice ones in her entire album. The rest are basically rip offs.
Not that the two singles sound close to rip offs as well, but you know what I mean. But she is getting prettier nowadays. =/
Wait, why am I talking about her? Does sickness fuddle the brains so much that you can totally side track yourself??
Oh. I usually do that already anyway, so nvm.
Anyway, I have a second job right now! Goodness, I seem to either have no jobs or too many jobs. I should be classified as an extremist or something. I'm either extremely slacking, but once I get working, I can't stop! Or when I'm punctual for once, the next few days I'll always be punctual until a little 5mins slip... then I'll be late for the next few days again. Or when I get on a fitness kick, I just exercise nearly everyday. But once I give myself a day break, the break turns out to be like a month or so. Or when... well, you get the idea. Heh.
Geez. What is wrong with me?
Eh, anyway, I'm also working as part of the Banquet committee! As a lowly waitress of course. Can you imagine how demeaning it is?? ME! Ze great Ann-Marie Lim! A waitress! SERVING!! ME! SERVING!! Omg!
Alright, I shall cut that out. But I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I'm actually serving people for once. I've always believed that I was born to get served. Which I still am strongly believing of course. But perhaps this is the fates way of making me realise what the average lowly waiter goes through.
Serving this is so different from serving people from behind an optical shop's counter. At there, you still have some form of power since you, after all, understand what type of lens and frame the customer needs, and they don't; so they'll just agree to whatever you say thinking its right for them.
And you know me. I just love power. :D
In banquet, the guests think they have the power instead and so can order you around. Which even I don't do! And they think they are better than me?! Hmph. What nerve!
This guy I serv- helped, think he's such a big rich shot. Bah! How rich does he think people will think he is since he ordered ALL the drinks available that was for free. Which meant he had orange, coke, sprite, tea AND ice water sitting on his side of the table! OMG, if I were sitting with him at the same table, my mouth will never be the same again after all the sneering I'd done at him.
Only super kiasu aunties then order all the free drinks available lah! Plus, his part of the table was so full, I had trouble collecting his plates and stuff ALL the time! So you can't blame me when I was reaching to collect his cup of tea, and my hand had to snake past the numerous glasses and the tea from my tray toppled and dripped on him!
He still had the GALL to "tsk!" me, and said it was the 2nd time this happened to him. But the first time wasn't me, so another waiter obviously had the same problem as me too! Serves him right, I say. Hope his horrid clothings from whatever 2nd-hand shop he bought from would forever have a stain. Unless he was trying to act big so he just bought the most ex clothes he could find without bothering to match.
And I wouldn't be surprised too. I still can't get over the fact that he had no shame in asking for all the drinks!
But so far most of the guests were quite nice, as in they would move when they see me coming and say Thank yous. But their rather dumb too. Want to move, move feet oso can?? They move their body, but their feet are still blocking me! So what am I suppose to do? Grow a metre more on my arms?? Really.
Alright, I'm feeling rather grumpy due to my sickness. Sigh. Have an MC for tomorrow, but going for banquet job later again with Sheena. Don't ever be broke people! Hope it will be okay. Wish me luck and a "get well soon!" :)
