We might be a little nuts

In the midst of house searching we decided to take a break and visit one of our favorite places, Carmel, CA. We couldn't pass up the opportunity and we were at a break in our house search so we went with Glenn siblings to relax a little.

Goodbyes

We have been lucky enough to have a few fun goodbye parties. Our good friends threw one for Rebekah and Miriam and invited Rebekah's school friends and a few from church. We sure are going to miss our friends. Thanks for the fun party! It means a lot to the girls and myself.

Our friends gave us this fantastic book all about New Jersey. We have already read through it a few times and we are still learning all about New Jersey.

Picnic in the Park

As time winds down we are trying to spend time with as many of our good friends as we can. We went on a picnic in the park with our friends the Cleggs a few weekends ago. We loved just hanging out on the blankets and chatting, playing kickball, and visiting the nature center.

Here is Jill with our kiddos.
Of course our Aunt Heather came too.

Our picnic was in Watchung Reservation which is a lovely reservation near us where there are great hiking trails and parks to enjoy. It is truly beautiful!

Change

One thing that is consistent in life is change. It surprises me how unpredictable life continues to be. Glenn begins his last year in the American Express rotation program this summer/fall. Throughout this year we felt that his last position would surely be in NY even though we had expressed a desire to go west to Arizona (mostly for financial reasons). We had put going west out of our minds and felt that we would happily be here in New Jersey for the next 3 to 5 years. We LOVE living in the east. It brings so many wonderful blessings and opportunities to our family. We only wish cost of living was not so crazy. Anyhow, over the last month and a half we learned that Glenn's last position will be in SLC, UT. We love Utah, but did not foresee ourselves returning and definitely not so quickly. We are beyond excited to live near family again and to enjoy western style living with larger spaces and cheaper housing. On the other hand we really do love our lives here in New Jersey and it will be so hard to leave what we have here. It will be hard to leave a place and people we truly love and enjoy for a place we know we love too. I think I am in denial. Every time we move I always seem to have a much more difficult time. I cannot believe our time in New Jersey is spent and now we are off to a new adventure. At times it brings me sadness, but I also know that good things await our family in the future. I will truly miss this year of growth our family has experienced here along with the great families and friends whom have served us and who we love and admire.
We have been packing for 3 weeks now and we are almost done. The kids and I fly out with Heather (Glenn's sister) on Friday while Glenn will stay a bit longer to make sure our POD is loaded securely and to get rid of what doesn't fit. It feels like we have been having goodbye parties since we found out we were moving and it has been wonderful, but making it all the more difficult to leave our good friends. Glenn will join us on Sunday and we will start the house search on Monday. And so we will live in a state of limbo for the next month or so.

Life keeps on moving! Wish us luck.
