Another Weekend is Here....

I have had a fairly frustrating week, only for it all to come to a head today. My apartment lease is up next month - I have been expecting the "letter" with the offer to renew along with the rent increase. Last year they raised the rent 80 dollars a month, and I almost fainted. Today, I was pretty much the same, as it is going to be 60 dollars more this time.

The apartments are nice, but not that nice. I like living here, but I can't see paying more than I have to. We have a serious problem here in Missoula - what they like to call "affordable housing" is almost non-existent. (affordable housing is defined as 35% of your monthly income going to rent). It is just plain expensive to live here, which smacks into the fact that we have one of the lowest income levels in the country.

I am also going to have trouble finding a place that will take pets. Fortunately, I spent the day cutting a few expenses, and canceling some obligations - so I will be able to wait until the summer to move. That will be so much better because this is a college town, and there are a lot more rentals to choose from when the kids are gone for the summer.

Well, enough whining :) I am now off to bury my 'sorrows' in my stitching.

Have a great weekend, all!!

Thursday Update

This week has been full of work, work, work! The things we are forced to do in order to pay the rent (and buy chocolate and stash). It's barbaric I tell you. LOL

I have been working on my ornament for Carolyn and the ILCS ornament RR. The frogs came the first night, but it has been going pretty well so far. I am always pleased with how quickly perforated paper stitches up! It is easy to use 3 strands as well. If there's one thing perf paper was made for, it's ornaments. So easy to stitch and to finish - and they look good!

I started a HAED design a couple of weeks ago.

In case you are having trouble recognizing it LOL, it is Father Christmas and Cats. I think that is about 250 stitches. I have never stitched over one and find it quite the challenge. My eyes are finding it quite the challenge, as well. Fortunately, I have that obscenely expensive daylight lamp with the magnifier on it. I moved the whole lamp around until I could put the magnifier just where i wanted it and voila! This is the first time I have used that magnifier, and it is working fabulously.

I will be updating my for sale/trade/rak folder periodically.( In multiply and in Webshots) I am trying to sell it all on ebay first, then it comes here. If anyone is interested, my ebay seller ID is leelouetc. I put up new items a couple of times a week.

If anyone is interested in anything in the for sale/trade/rak folder the prices are negotiable. I have basically priced things $1.00 over postage costs. If you are interested in more than one item then the total price will be less as I will re-weigh the items and combine postage. I am always happy to trade as well!

Have a great Friday everyone!

The Weekend begins

I had already decided that this weekend would be full of stress and chores that I had to get done. When I woke up this morning (who am i kidding) afternoon. I felt very peaceful. I haven't felt like this in a long time.

Needless to say, I am enjoying my day so far. I am planning to do lots of "busy" work. First on my list is to continue to go through my cd collection. I have over 300 cds and am listening to every one and listing them in excel. I am giving them a "rating" of sorts as well. In case I have to give up some cds, I will easily know which ones i won't miss.

How did I get so many cds? Mostly from yard sales and pawn shops. They all sell for around a buck at the yard sales, and you can find some really neat artists. Not so much new music, but who cares???

The next thing I am going to tackle is my pile of floss I got at walmart. I fell off the 10 project challenge wagon one day. I could not pass up 10 cent floss!! NO NO NO!!

Now I want to separate it into number groups and put it in plastic bags. I have the stitchbow system, but to keep all the extra in the system is not only expensive, but a waste of space in my opinion. I keep 3 stitchbow containers full of extras and that will have to be enough. Each container holds 50, I think.

Last but certainly not least, I want to start stitching on the 3rd ornament for my ILCS ornament RR. I am excited to make this ornament as I love it. I also need to put together a kitted up freebie (or at least a supply list) for an exchange in my CSE group.

I did make progress on wolf eyes, and need to get a pic up this weekend!!!

take care, I hope everyone has a great weekend.
