Winkler Botanical Preserve
We stumbled upon this place two weeks ago. It is tucked right in the middle of highways, apartments and condos. Unfortunately, I don't think many people know about it.
When I go somewhere like this, I always wish I actually knew how to use my camera. Someday I'll learn, but for now I'll pretend.

Reminiscing this and that
My parents found me the coolest toys when I was a kid. The other day something reminded me of a giant bubble wand they gave me for a birthday. After a quick internet search and a few cheap supplies later, we had ourselves some homemade wands.
It was a welcome diversion in a weekend full of sickies and mr-crankypants-getting-two-molars.
I'm ready to whip out some more. Anyone want to come play?

thoughts from a three year old over a bowl of raisins
A: Mom, I think everything in this world makes me frustrated. I'm not frustrated about Brother Bobby and Sister Sandy (her primary teachers). I'm not bothered about people. I'm frustrated about the ocean. There's shaaaarks.....and whaaaales....and fiiiish. I don't like THOSE. Or I don't like to eat them from the ocean.
Me: Ada, is there anything you DO like in the ocean?
A: Ummmm,.....whales.
