September!

Scenes from September!

Dinner at Rock and Run, one of our favorite places

Apple picking at Weston Red Barn Farm. Lauren and I didn't got that day because Lauren wasn't feeling too well that morning and had a fever.

Paradise Park for my birthday :) The girls had been wanting to go there all summer and we hadn't made it yet, so it this was a good day to go! It's always a fun place and brings back lots of memories since we've been going there since Hannah was a toddler.

For their school fundraiser prize, Hannah and Lauren got these giant bouncy balls which are awesome!

The Boosterthon fundraiser day! Quite a big day at school!

Friday Night Lights!

Playing on Poplar Lane...

Five Guys!

Schumacher school skating party!

Carolyn's County Cousin's Pumpkin Patch!

On this particular day at Carolyn's, the pig races were hilarious! They are always supposed to be funny, but this time they really were...   The pigs were too small to stay in the pen, so they were just running back and forth all around, while the poor pig wranglers chased them. It was the first weekend it was open, so they were hoping as they grew, the pigs would stay in their racetrack/pen :)

Fall Festival Carnival!

Hannah finishing another Harry Potter. Wow! We have read the Harry Potters together (we're on the 5th now) and she went back and read them all on her own. Geez! This girl loves to read.

End of July/August!

At the end of July, the girls went to Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill's for several days while I was out of town in San Diego for work. They had a really fun time do all sorts of things! They saw cousins, went to Shakespeare's, saw a play, painted pottery, saw a movie, went to Going Bonkers, and more!

We took a trip to Columbia to celebrate Lauren's birthday! We traditionally have a pool party at Southwest to celebrate all the August and September birthdays together, but it was stormy weather so we moved the party to Dave and Geni's house instead. Lou was a good sport about it!

Cousin fun at Grandma Nell's house! All of them stayed overnight!

The adult kids even got to go out that night together for the first time in a long time! Wow! Thanks Grandma Nell :)

Sweet big sis Hannah reading to Lauren before bed :)

Greg started his new job at Discovery Middle School! His first day!

Lauren's Birthday! She got a new American Girl doll and a trip to Coco Key Water Park! (Don't be alarmed...the cake isn't on fire!)

Big sis got to get her doll a new hairdo in the fancy doll boutique also :)

A trip to the State Fair with Papa and cousins! This huge cicada was on my ankle when I reached down to scratch my leg when I was going down I-435. Yikes!!!!

Soaking up the last days of summer at Deanna Rose Farmstead!

One last trip to Science City/Union Station, Kaleidoscope, and Spin Pizza before summer is over!

Lauren got her certificate and medal for having 1000 books read to her before Kindergarten! Yay!! A librarian introduced her to this challenge and she was super motivated to do it! We recorded all of the titles in this little purple book (she's holding it in the picture) that the librarian gave to us.

Lauren practicing her new biking skills!

Back to School Night! Lauren meets Ms. Birkland and Hannah meets Ms. Rettig!

First day of school! Hannah--3rd grade and Lauren--Kindergarten!

The Great Total Eclipse of 2017! The kids watched it at school and Greg watched it at DMS, and I watched with neighbors. A fun day!

First we made Eclipse cupcakes a couple of days in advance to prepare :) Carrie organized this and it was so cute!

DMS kids watching the eclipse!

Howard came by to see us on Eclipse Day because he was in our area watching the eclipse!

Trying on our eclipse glasses together at the end of the day!

Lauren helping make her birthday cake! She designed it herself and drew a picture of what she wanted, and then I made the design out of icing. She is quite the little artist!

Lauren's friend birthday party! She had friends over for an art party! They painted canvases, made perler bead art and decorated aprons. What a sweet group of friends! And Hannah was a wonderful helper to the younger kids as they went through the different stations!

Water balloons and swimming in the last days of August!
