This post if mainly to show off how dang cute my kid is! These are some of the highlights of the summer and some of Gabi's progression. She has changed so much lately and has become smarter and smarter every day! This is not in any order and will most likely be random, but I wanted to have record of some of the things shes been doing lately. She still uses a ton of sign language but I try to encourage words more, I make her at least try to say things and she will usually get the first sound or syllable out and I think that is great! Some of the newer words she has said at least once are : good job, all done, mickey, on, in, mine, kiss, love, no, yeah, ah-oh, more, please, hello, bye, open, help. I'm sure there are more but i cant think of them! She doesn't say them consistently and like I said it may just be the first part of the word but she is understanding the meaning way more and her communication and comprehension is improving by the day
This was the first time she really used the word and sign "mine" I had made a smoothie for us to share and i was quickly told that it was hers! But to make me feel better she blew me a kiss! She is so dang funny! She knows how to get her way but butter you up at the same time, smart kid! it works!
Gabi has been pretty healthy all summer but she has has 2 eye infections, or blocked tear ducts. They only lasted a day or two and she never let it bother her. She is a trooper no matter what. she hardly ever complains which I love and hate because its hard to know if she is hurt, hungry, sleepy, etc.
She has become the biggest talker! She has her own little language and will tell you the biggest story you have ever heard, she loves talking on the phone and will use anything she can!, If its not a phone, its a hand or a toy or even her food for dinner ha ha! Gabi is a huge Gabber! its hilarious to watch because she laughs, talks with her hands, makes surprise faces, etc. I cant wait to hear what all the stories are about when she is speaking in English!
Gabi has grown up a ton! She is not my little baby anymore. She is still little physically compared to most kids her age but mentally she is right there with them! her hair has gotten so long and that also makes her seem older to me, last summer we were sill giving her a Mohawk with a headband, now its pony tails, pigtails, and even curls!
She is the most loving Little girl, she will give a kiss to anyone and her smile melts your heart! I love her little pucker and how it makes her little button nose scrunch, i could kiss those lips all day long! I don't have a day that I am not in complete gratitude for her in my life! I feel so lucky!
Gabi is a really good eater but she is picky with what she eats, one day she will eat everything you put on her plate, the next day you can give her the same thing and she wont touch it! I think she takes after me and likes variety. She gets tired of the same things but their are alot of things that I know she just wont eat. I have to get creative when I feed her. for example if I made her a sandwich she wouldn't touch it, but it i cut up pieces of meat cheese and pickles with a piece of bread on the side she will eat it all. If i gave her a bowl of applesauce she wouldn't touch it but she loves the applesauce she can suck out of the pouches. its constantly a game with her and I have to get creative. She loves fruit and Mexican noodle soup, rice, toast, yogurt, cucumbers, pickles, Popsicles, pizza, pretzels, and string cheese. but her number one love is french fries! she could life off them! She has surprised me lately and eaten cereal a few times for breakfast which I was super excited about!
Gabi not only looks like a little monkey, sounds like a little monkey, but she climbs like a little monkey too! she loves to be up on the back of the couch, up the side of the couch, on the bed, up her crib, up the bar stools etc! you name it she has tried to climb it! She is one tough little kid!
She also likes to climb into things but doesn't like it when she cant get out!
This Girl is OBSESSED with mickey Mouse! She loves it! and I'm not going to lie I love that she loves it because that gives me more reason to get Gio to agree to go to Disneyland more!
At the beginning when Mickey comes on and says the magic words and the music starts she squeals, laughs, and I'm pretty positive tries to repeat every word he says, It makes my heart happy to see the joy on her face and it makes me extremely excited to take her to Disneyland for the first time in September!
If Gabi has been trying to take her clothes off alot lately. I let her run around in a diaper for a while one night and she was trying everything she could to get that diaper off! it was so funny. I hope she doesn't find out about the tabs for awhile because she will be naked all the time!
Gabi accomplished a huge step with early intervention and finally started stacking! it most likely would have happened a long time ago if i would have bought her some blocks, stacking jello boxes just wasn't entertaining to her! Once she actually had a toy to stack she does it like crazy. she builds towers and uses her karate chop to knock them over! she has been really good about picking up her toys and putting them in the right places too. I love that I can tell her to pick up her blocks and she knows what I'm saying.
Gabi Loves to be outside she is on our balcony all the time watching the horses in the field next to us and she thinks its so funny to peek at me through the window. I have found myself slightly depressed that we don't have a bigger fenced in place that she can go out and play. it would be so nice to be able to let he roam around and explore the back yard and not have to chase her as she runs up the street!
Gabi has still loved books although she is pretty impatient, she likes to be the one to turn the page and if you don't do it her way she throws a fit! I need to be better at making time to read to her more I think it will help so much with her comprehension and speech skills.
She has loved her baby and one night she carried it to bed with her, she was so excited when I laid it next to her she hugged her and kissed her and when I left the room she threw her to the floor! She will point to all the baby's body parts and loves to rock her and kiss her. she is usually dragging her by her hair too so I hope that when she becomes a big sister someday she is a little more gentle!
Gabi loves a good mess she likes to throw everything off the couch onto the floor,and she thinks its funny when I bury her with pillows! she holds super still and when you peak at her she giggles like crazy and wants to be covered right back up! Its not often that I like to purposely make a mess but one day I was feeling very overwhelmed with life and decided to let go and try something new with Gabi, I opened a bag of raw star noodles in a muffin tin, got some cups, and spoon and let her play on the rug she of course dumped it out and had a hay day spreading it every where! they were easy to clean up and it was fun to watch her do something new.
Gabi covers her mouth like this to laugh and sometimes when she is standing she will bend over like whatever just happened was the funniest thing she has ever seen! It is so adorable!
Some of her new things she loves lately are putting on my shoes, she gets frustrated if she trips or if they aren't in between the right toes, but she walks in them pretty good! She also still loves to "clean" she loves wiping the walls and floor with what ever she can find, sweeping the floor, playing with the vacuum, and folding the laundry. I hope she always like cleaning cause I would sure love the help!
Another one of Gabi's obsessions is my car keys, she always wants to hold them and she grabs at them whenever she gets the chance. I got so tired of it that I decided that I was going to get her a set of her own! I don't want her to loose the only set of keys I have! I got a bunch of old keys from work and bought her a few cheap key chains, I even bought her a mickey mouse key, and the color key rings to make her set of keys look as real as possible! She is smart and will know! I put the old Jeep key on there and ended up with enough stuff to make her 2 sets of keys! I even hang them on the key rack on the wall to make it more authentic! She is satisfied but still knows the difference and prefers my set! of course she would!
She got her very first black eye the other day and was so sad! I wasn't feeling well and was laying on the couch, she came running down the hall toward me and tripped, she smacked her eye right on the corner of her wooden blocks and it was instantly swollen and bruised, shes had a pretty good shiner all week! Gio was so concerned about her and freaked out when i sent him the picture! What does he think I do beat her! things happen and kids will be kids!
I love her sense of humor and that she is a little tease. I am so amazed at how smart she is and I get so happy every time she does something new even if it is naughty or something to outsmart me! it only shows how "normal" she really is, I have never seen her as anything but that, "normal" she has nothing wrong with her in my eyes and she is just as God intended her to be, Perfect!
