Why so fast??!!??

Retirement in Australia

I've heard many many who thought of retiring in Aussie. Just yesterday I had lunch (she self invited herself, I was definitely not a willing party) with this 28 yr old girl who said 'I'm planning for a retirement in Aussie already! My relatives showed me her apple tree she grown, she took 3 jobs at a time and bought her own house! And there is work life balance there!'

I was like -_- 

3 jobs at a time, you can buy a place in many places too. And how does 3 jobs at a time ties up with work life balance? Until she heard that the cheapest food in the foodcourt, economic rice will set her back by $10 per meal. Shops close at 5pm, and she went 'Then what do I do after work?' She gave a shock look when she was told this. I mean how do you even plan for retirement when you don't even know what you are in for? Thats a 28 yr old non-singaporean junior executive, whom I'm not sure whether shes even been to Australia.

For the time being, retirement for us is. 

Drinking my $1.10 teh and reading newspapers. 

And having a husband to irritate. 

Unpacking

The past week, we took leave from Wednesday to Friday to unpack the house. 

It was quite chaotic and messy on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Thursday night, we could finally see the difference. That the boxes were significantly lesser and there were walking space in the rooms, corridors and living room. Friday was the breakthrough day, we can declare that its ready for move in, except that we have no hot water. We are down to our last 10 boxes and I'm gona unpack it slowly every night after we move in. We just don't have enough leaves and weekends to unpack now.

My favourite part of the house? 

The shoe cabinet!! I love how the grey laminate turns out!

Almost double the size of my previous one.

And Emma has her own compartment!!

And it has a open bottom (the black area) to put shoes! 

Now lets turn on the hot water already!!

Spick and Span

We went to the storage at 2 attempts trying to locate the purifier and returned empty handed. With the air going really bad, hubs went down again, and this round die die also must come back with a purifier. Why are we so reluctant? We are moving out all our barang in another erm.. 3 days. And with our luck, I'm sure after we found the purifier, the haze going to go away. Oh wells, thats our life.

Emma had the best weekend of her life I reckoned. She met her favourite Skyler kor kor everyday during the long weekend! We are that bored.

Friday after our voting, we went to meet up with our friends at this restaurant tucked away in Joo Chiat. They had an amazing playground which tops my list of eateries with playgrounds.

But food wise, the serving for each dish was a bit big, it will be difficult for just 3 of us to come. But oh wells, who cares about food right? Bleh.

We spent the rest of the day cleaning our house, preparing for the move on Wednesday!

I can't say the floor is spick and span, it definitely isn't. There seems to have a pepertual layer of sand which is stuck to the ground. Oh wells. We tried.

I stayed up till 1am oddish to watch the election! So tiringly exciting! I'm just glad its over. Now we can complain about the terrible haze!

$2 carrot cake

Staying minutes away from a big hawker center, which happens to have a mall as well. We just awalked across the road, and VIOLA!

And hubs is still not back buying his breakfast!!

The Big Move

Utterly excited that our big move is next week!! woho!!!!

This picture has nothing to do with the move, but everything around us is just for her!

We moved so that we can be near my parents, her grandparents. 

So before The Move, comes The Big Clean which is scheduled for this Friday. 

Dessert nights

Friday nights are dessert nights. Trying to lose some weight, instead of having waffles with ice-cream, we are just having ice-cream at The Sunday Market!

What I really love are the flavours of ice cream they offer! They don't have the usual ones, instead they have rocher, mocha etc. Tonight we are having strawberry cheesecake, banana nut and chendol!

Making the most out of our last few weekends with my parents, we are catching this tonight!

Tomorrow we'll be catching together with Emma!

Seems like the weekend is almost over!

Tonight Emma will be having dinner with her favourite Skyler kor kor whom shes been asking for weeks! We'll be going on a Perth trip together with him, its gona be a happy trip for her since they're gona see each other almost 24/7. But I hope she doesn't get too much withdrawal symptoms after that!
