Hubs birthday!

Every occasion, we run out of places to go. Over the past 12 years, we've been to many many MANY MANY places. We've done Equinox, Mortons, etc etc, these few years, we really have no idea where to go. Hubs birthday is always something beef and steak, we've run out of ideas, cause we need somewhere where Emma has food too. Its been a long while since we went New Ubin. It was a Monday night, but it was SOOO CROWDED we almost didn't get a seat.

The beef steak still taste really good!

We can't say the same for the fried rice, standard has dropped a bit. We thought. But Emma thinks its good.

We ordered satays, and bbq sambal fish.
A girl who loves her satays, but she only had 1 that night.
A birthday cake from the famous Glace!
Mm.. she almost finish the entire slice by herself!
All the waiters were really really busy, we were a bit paisay to ask them to help us take a family picture. So, we end up with a family selfie again!
Happy 37!

Hubs ordered a entree thats raw beef. It taste like... raw beef.
Ordered a pizza for us
And noodles for Emma
Hub's third fathers day! And today we are celebrating his birthday!!!

Movie Weekends

Friday we watched a pre-midnight, 11:30pm movie, it kinda thrills to take 5 mins to get to the theatre. Hubs wana watch Jurassic World, so I went along. I thought it was silly watching dino, so I didn't watch any of the Jurassic Park. I felt silly when two dinos were fighting in front of me. I can't even say 'this scene is not realistic'.
I went to bed on Friday night with dinos all over my head. I thought it wasn't a good show, until just now.
Terrible. I'm a cartoon lover. I love most cartoons, but Minions is just pure boring. I couldn't decide which was worse, Simpsons or this?

Saturday we went to this fruit focus cafe called Fresh Fruits Lab at Siglap, it was so different compared to the usual coffee centered cafes.

We were offered complimentary test tubes testing juices which was delicious and interesting experience! We probably always wanted to do these during chemistry classes.

Ice water were served in beakers. There were table toys for fun.
We ordered Emma a fruit juice.
We ordered a soda.
Lychee cake which tasted really good.

On top of these, there were free flow of marshmallows, and various buscuits!!! We will definitely be back!

Netherlands Maybe

We are here at the time of the year, facing with a first world problem of where to go for our annual trip next year. It is a good problem, just that now we have Emma potty trained, our initial plan of Paris is out, cause I read that toilets are hard to find. We explored Swiss, Italy, New Zealand, Germany and tentatively, our choice is.

Netherlands!

Staycations.. So Singapore!

We hardly do staycations. The first time was Pan Pacific suite, 22 June 2007, the day I quit my first job, hubs birthday. And most importantly, he needed somewhere to propose, so we were there for a night.

Then it was Goodwood Park, where we wanted a place to ourselves after our ROM. Since we didn't had a banquet, that was kinda like our wedding night. We were staying at hub's house, so I guess its helps that we had the night to ourselves without needing to have quiet sex.

After that resort world open with USS, and all the hives and jives. It was still the first year of opening, so we've decided to try one of the hotel, I think we ended up at Festive Hotel cause the rest weren't ready. It was very forgettable, that I couldn't remember any of it.

After that, we didn't pay for any staycations, cause we thought it was pointless. We pay for the room, so we kinda would like to enjoy the facilities and what not, at most we'll use the swimming pool. We'll spend most of the time in the room, since there was no need for sightseeing. We end up watching tv in the room. Something that can be easily done at the comfort of our own home. On the aircon, on the tv, lie on the bed *TADAAA*. We do have a hotel quality mattress, we got the mattress after a Bangkok trip where the hotel bed was sssooo comfy, we came back and got the same brand. That was like one of the most expensive item we bought when we moved. We had to apply for instalments to afford the mattress, and till this day, still one of the best purchase, and still trying to depreciate it. I think we need to use it for at least 20 years!

Back to the purpose of the original post, all thanks to UOB, we got a free staycation at Equarius Hotel! I was expecting the usual small puny room, but got a pleasant surprise when there was a garden! Which we didn't use at all! haha but it was a pleasant sight nonetheless!

Usually after we push in the stroller, there will be zero walking space!

We went for a swim at the not so busy lagoon pool which was good! The rest of the swimmers were mostly Singaporeans, it felt like we were in a condo pool, no holiday feeling at all. Zilch.
But thats just us, Emma's happy though! Hope she'll be as happy next month were we'll have a 24/7 pool right at our doorstep!

Our love for room service. ALWAYS.

She was busy teacher Emma. 'Everybody I am going to read a book, can you all see? If you can't see, move closer here. I am going to tell the story.'

The stay came with free breakfast! The entire breakfast area was filled with Singaporeans, the breakfast food was all Singaporean favourites as well, with luncheon meat no less! It feels very much in Singapore. You will feel out of place if you are a tourist though.
After finishing her orange juice, milk, harsh brown, croissant, water melon, she's patiently waiting for us to finish our coffee before we leave.
Till the next free staycation!

I'm just bored

I feel quite pregnant-ish now. Not that I am. The surgery was in the abdomen area, so it hurts when you exert strength there. So its back to the pregnant days, where when you wake up, you don't just sit up, I've got to roll to the side slowly and push myself up with my hands. When sleeping, it takes a few days before you can sleep on your side. If you sleep on your side, it kinda feels like the inside are loosen and it falls to the side which hurts. Squatting up and down, I've gota use my thighs instead of abdomen strength. Its pretty easy since its pretty similar to when I'm pregnant. I wonder whether they teach others who have the same surgery but haven't been pregnant before. The only thing I was taught was how to cough, which hurts like hell. I just drink loads of water, hopefully I wouldn't cough. Sneezing is the worse, I try to brush it off when one's coming. If not. I just squeeze in pain thereafter.

I'm one week into my hospitalisation leave and I'm quite bored, so I shall re-post on our moving day. Both of us took a day off to say goodbye. We were waiting downstairs for the movers at 9am. They were punctual and everything was done within 3 hrs!

A special mention to my favourite room, my walk in wardrobe, 17 feet to be exact. Our new house will be slightly smaller, 15 feet.
We really love the quality and how it turns out over the years, so we went back to the same place and same guy who did our old place. The other side of the room is a wall for me to hang my bags, which somehow I didn't had pictures of! I will not have a bag hanging wall for our new house, because the wardrobe room didn't had space for it. *Boo*
A poorly designed shoe cabinet done by our contractor, this round we're giving the wardrobe guy to do it. The current one is 1 metre, the next one will be 1.5metre, slightly bigger.
Emma's room, which was under-utilised. I bought this huge tree decal and honestly regretted it thereafter. I'm glad we're leaving it behind.
For sometime before Emma came, my friend was staying in this room.

The living room, which we only used it in the recent 3 yrs after Emma came. Pre-Emma, we hardly spend time here, it was always the bedroom. Post-Emma era, we use it extensively. Loads of memories.

Our storage now!
