Moisturiser obsession

Emma has a moisturiser obsession ever since we start touring wintery places and needs to use moisturiser.

We went on too many swims over the long weekend, and hubs got sunburnt. Ems quite happy over it though.

Christmas 2015

We didn't had plans for Christmas Day. In the morning after breakfast we headed to Liat Towers for Zara sale. After that the day was still early (we finished our business at 10:30am), we went Starbucks for some coffee and Emma get to eat her croissant. She had it two days in a row with this face.
We had a swim in the pool. Thankful for the glorious weather over the past 3.5 days, we will swim 4 days in a row including today. Emma has been progressing super well though we were jus playing every swim.
Yesterday she could track water by herself with the aid of the arm floaters!

After her nap we went to the beach!

Progress! She now can walk on the sand with her bare feet!
After that we had dinner by the beach, Emma was really happy with this dinner arrangement! It wasn't something I would plan, but theres nowhere we can get a seat anywhere for dinner. This was the most convenient way, packing food from East Coast hawker.
We had satay, rojak, bbq stingray, fried rice and sugarcane drink!

Xmas Eve

Our first Christmas at our new place. Not that we celebrate Christmas, we only do Chinese New Year. We had a western dinner at home, so that we don't jostle with the crowd outside, hubs cooked steak. And we had a surprise log cake for Emma.
It was a really pretty and tasty rainbow log cake, I got a candle just because Ems likes to blow out the candle.

We did sing a birthday song though, because you know, cakes and birthday song comes in a package. She said it wasn't her birthday, so we sang a song for Santa (Jesus is a complicated concept).

Potato Drawings

The first drawing which Emma drew that looks like something.
Definition of 'something', anything else that doesn't look like a wriggly snake. And this has 2 eyes, 1 mouth, 2 hands, 2 legs!

Based on my high level imagination, the skinny one looks like hubs, wearing glasses, which is weird. But Emma might have a theme in mind - Opposite.

The Whale Dream

We watched In the Heart of the Sea yesterday. It was supposed to be something like Moby Dick. It was nice in the movie (in the lift I heard someone saying its boring), but I wouldn't read the book. I can imagine the book to be quite boring.
Then I had the weirdest dream. I dream that I was with the whale at Singapore River. My first in having a huge whale in my dream.

We've been catching movies more frequently than we expect. Not as much as pre-baby, but its great progress. A while ago, we caught this the same week on its release.
Emma has been asking to stay over at my mum's very frequently after we moved back from her place. Which is a good thing we think, having somewhere else to stay over other than our home. Previously we would have to tell her that she's going to stay over, but now, she will ask for it herself. Though not all the time she can stay over, she can get a bit too much (energy wise) for people over 50s. So for a week, she stays over about twice, sometimes thrice if she asks for it and if my dad's at home. She's too much a energy ball for my mum to take her alone.

When we bought this place, we (or actually just me, hubs was) weren't sure exactly whether to do it. This is not really an investment where we expect capital returns in future, unlike our first HDB. We were prepared that this place in future when we sell it, we probably will lose some capital (though I'm still harbouring thoughts that we wouldn't lose much). We bought it for other non-monetary reasons-proximity to my parents place.

The past 2 months odd staying here, its been really good. We can really feel the difference now that we are just 1 train stop away, door to door, it will take us about 10 mins. The difference is the time we reach home, and now we have more time at night! (Considering Emma needs to go to bed at 9pm, we don't have much spare night time).

We used to stay on the 12th floor, moving here, we can only afford 4th floor. After staying on the 4th for a while, actually, this 4th floor beats our 12th storey hands down. But I think it might be the block layout of our 12th floor, that made it not very good, comparing to this where we have unblock view all the way since we're nestled in the middle of private estate. And also we're not facing the main road, so noise isn't quite of a problem as well.

But till now, I'm still not sure whether we made a right choice of moving here. Hubs is very sure he made a right choice though, I'm glad one of us don't have this problem. Thinking over the old HDB, we weren't sure in the initial years as well, because we bought a oversized place just for a family of 3, which at that time we intended to only have 1 kid, but we bought a 1399 square feet place. And it was a high floor, which costs a bit more. When we bought this place, both of us were earning very little, and even had to top up cash to made this purchase. But looking back now, it made sense. Of cause its easy to say now when you look back. Hope 10 years later, we can say the same.

Saturday mornings

Mm.. while waiting for my jap class, I'm waiting for my morning therapy.
its actually quite crowded on a Saturday 9:30am morning.
The last few Saturdays for Jap classes. Ems stopping her Yamaha, because she's going to start her swim class soon. We are trying to stick to our one class regime so that we can have some family time during the weekend. Trying to hold this arrangement as much as we can, though it might be difficult once she reach primary school. But she's only 3.5 now, so, just one class for now.

Since shes stopping her Yamaha, I'm stopping my Jap class too. I think I might be secretly relief.

The City

Its been a longgg while since we visited an indoor playground, maybe a year? This week I suddenly rememebered this pretend play pg The City. Shes at a age where she lovess pretend play and had a really good time!!

Her favourite are the cafe and supermart! I can foresee we'll be back pretty soon!

Puddles

Yesterday was a pretty rainy day. Ems was all ready in her bootwear!
The first puddle was quite fun, till it last. The second puddle she hestitated. I said, go and jump on it! You are wearing boots!

This memorable puddle. But many times bigger cause its dried up now.
Right after she jumping in. 'Bahhhhhhhhhh'

I was telling her, 'why are you crying? your feet are still dry right?' she just continued crying.

I took out her boots. Her feet are wet. I guess thats the end of our puddle jumping adventure.

My belated birthday

One of the best year. (last year I was slightly sad for some reason and wanted to get myself a present, but couldn't figure what to get)

This year was more organised, I booked Royal China for dim sum in the morning:

Imperial Treasure has better roast pork
This scallop yam thingy was the best dish

We probably wouldn't return again. We were left on an emtpy table for quite a while waiting to be served. The food was not bad, just that I really don't like slow service.

We went back for a rest, and continued feasting at night!

I love chilli crab and I love Jumbo.

We had all that food on Sunday. Monday was the actual day, so we had a small one near our house cafe. We always eat their waffle, this time we manage to try the mains which was good too!

The Flowers
But this year there was a promotion at the florist, free pet with flowers.
Creepy Crawley Caterpillar

Happy 32 to me!!!
